My social anxiety and major depressive disorder has made me humble. I don't take people's kindness for granted. My self-harm scars are a constant reminder of times when I really leaned on my own understanding by doing what I thought was logical at the time. Nowadays, when I look at my scars I think about how blessed I am to still be here and how God is not through with me yet. Sometimes, I feel that I have peace that makes no sense.

😆 I feel you on that. Which is how we feel. Your spouse should be your best friends but i know this a question some ask.

I've dealt with depression a lot resulting from trauma and giving into it led me to make a lot of dumb choices out of that pain, but I felt God's pull. I knew I didn't belong in that lifestyle. That God had better than that for me. I also deal with anxiety as well, and I can totally relate to how at some days it can be so overwhelming, but I find when I start reading the Bible, recalling scriptures, praying, speaking against it, encouraging others even when I was still struggling at times myself, putting on gospel music, and calling it out for what it is (a distraction from where I need to be, what I need to do, keeping me from where I need to go). Focusing on God has helped so much with changing my perspective. Thank you so much for sharing your stories/testimonies. Transparency is rare because people want to hide their testimonies out of shame, but it is truly through sharing your testimonies where people are given hope that they too can overcome, they are not alone, and there is hope.
