For my guitars that are for sale on eBay and Reverb 😎👍
Greco PC 98K Les Paul Custom (Archive Video!)
Guitar I had about 5 years or so ago. Long gone, but I still have the pickups and may list them for sale. Another fantastic quality Greco that I'd love to have kept if my wallet was bottomless ;)
Rig was my Orange Dark Terror and Cab (also long gone).

They sound great bog standard , the v100 it , is a great bluesy sounding guitar , its NOT a rocker ! You want a mick ronson for that / something with similar pickups , some people are just messers !
@joekelly9369 Cheers for the comment. Each their own, I usually say. Agree they sound nice with Stock pups, this one just happened to come with the Iron Gears. It's not like playing rock with a Les Paul is unheard of, though 😉. All the best, M.
I could pick one up for about a grand, would you say it’s worth it? Thanks!
Hi don't know if you'll see this msg but my wife just bought this guitar for my 40th birthday. I couldn't be happier, I think the fret inlay on 3rd fret has been covered with some sort of sticker. I was going to take it off and explore but just wanted to get your opinion on it if you think the same . I agree with you it's doesn't bother me because the guitar is great but I'm just curious 👍
i have 81 year model ;) same color.
how much for this guitar?
Hi There, Thanks for the comment. I don't have this one any more. In the UK I think you can find them for maybe £150 to £200 GBP, maybe less if lucky. Cheers!
how thin is the neck compared to other guitars? would you say it's a slim neck or more wide feeling
Hi There, thanks for the comment. I don't have this any more, but the neck was a medium profile. Cheers!
All the people in comments saying these were shite maybe should have took them for a set up or learned how to set them up. I have a white SSS one with maple neck.
Better than Gibson.
I have the cherry red version with switched out humbuckers (still have the original rails as well) just put some new snares on it and it plays just as smooth as a modern ibanez or fender. Great guitar for it's time an underestimated vintage gem imo 👍

I picked up the exact same guitar last year for a £160 quid shocking how good this guitar is, build quality sound feel, I have another Vintage V6P with 3 P90s picked that up with the paper on the strings for just 120 quid, lucky for me and other's people have no clue how good these guitars are, even my guitar tech loved my V100 in his own words this is as close to a Les Paul as you can get , electrics most Asian made guitar use the micro pots, as for the caps they do one thing store energy depending on the values, the Humbuckers Double Coil Alinico 5 pretty decent you mention Iron Gear heard great things and there is Tone Rider, but I am seriously thinking of going hand made, there is a place that sells a set for 200 quid, Vintage is a brand that the big names like Gibson and Fender hate, you don't see big retail chains like Andertons carry them most likely Gibson and Fender would read them the riot act since they are both authorized dealers of those brands, great review,
Hey Brian, they make some great guitars, sounds like you got a couple of bargains, enjoy! I've not had toneriders yet, be good to hear what you think of them if you go for them. The Iron Gears I've had I've found to be great value pickups.
It's strange, I got a v1003 about a year ago and a chunk of the binding on that was overpainted as well (in the same place). It must be a manufacturing issue they have. I've considered scraping it off but that would mean it looking very white next to the yellowed lacquer on the rest of the binding.
Do these guitars use the same tools (truss rod screw size, saddle screw size) as gibson les pauls?

Thanks for the comment. They make some really good guitars 🎸 👌

is it a flame maple veneer on a maple cap?
Hello, this one had a 'Foto Flame', so on the cap there's a thin photographic film to look like flame maple. Apparently it was a Made In Japan thing around that time. I also had a fender tele with the same sort of effect.
@@muzakshack5415 I just got mine today and verified its not a maple cap but a mahogany cap with a "foto flame veneer".
I was so excited to get one of these back in the day, brand new, silver one, got one as a present I had to chip in to it lol, I can't remember the price but it was not 'cheap' for the time, to be really honest though, it was shit, very heavy, terrible sound and always out of tune then the selector wasn't working and the rest of it, I can't remember what I did with it but I picked up a used Jedson for £20 that blew this thing away, I loved that Jedson until it got broken by someone else and I was devastated even though it only cost me £20, I'm not really a guitarist and this is my own view of my experience not to say people out there wouldn't enjoy one of these (I probably didn't know what I was doing with it and it may well have been badly set up, the shop I got it from wasn't a specialist place, they sold all sorts)
Lovely sounding Les Paul, did I hear out of phase in the middle?
Hi Ian...slightly delayed reply not getting much time for the hobby! If I remember right this has a phase switch with the push pull function.
This is a very good Les Paul copy with its stacked Wilkonson somehow P90 PUs. Looks beautiful, sounds clear and warm, has a very good finish and most of all is a guitar a lot of people can afford, if they want to, like all Vintage guitars. Bought one last week new for 420€.
It plays better than my two Gibson's which are now sold and I replaced them with a wine red vintage LP and a vintage PGM Les Paul and have better guitars and loads more cash
I'm sure these never came with a Floyd Rose style bridge... if that's a genuine Floyd, it's probably worth more than the guitar! The early Sidewinders were made in Japan and the DDR and later made in Korea (Samick). I have an early Japanese one and it's suberb... they all needed a setup before they were playable... but as a low end guitar they got many a budding guitar player started and were a 'good bang for the buck'! If you can find a MIJ one... then grab it!
Hi there Jammoko, thanks for the comment. I don't think it was a genuine Floyd from memory, but that guitar moved on to a new owner quite some time ago. It was a very decent guitar though, I didn't know the early Sidewinders were MIJ guitars though, that might explain why some I've seen are so decent!

Its about a 78 not a 74 Cause Ace didn’t get his 3 pickup les paul until later in the love Gun era around 77
Hi, thanks for the comment. It was a tricky one to date; no serial number on the back of the headstock and no stamps on the Maxon pickups...BUT...Greco stopped using the 'gNeco' logo around 1975. I know Ace's was first seen in '77, its possible someone modded this guitar guitar to make it into a 3PU model. Its also possible an old headstock facia was used on a '78 Greco, but not usual and by 78 most Greco's had a serial stamp on the back. They did make an Ace Frehley replica around 1978; brochures.yokochou.com/guitar-and-amp/greco/1978/en_05.html Great guitar, long gone to a new owner though. Cheers.
@@muzakshack5415 Yea but i actually think this can be a stock 3pickup guitar
No Ace starting using it in 76.
Ace's is a 74 and he started using it in 76-77.
Very interesting because I have a Marlin Sidewinder guitar. I think they are underestimated by some. A good budget Strat type instrument.
How do these feel to play in comparison to a glpc ?

Very nice!
Hi which version is better the ‘older’ ones prior to 2005? Before they put the Wilkinson pickups in? Basically non branded pick ups on the vs6...are those ones any good? Or should I look for the ones with Wilkinson pick ups in? Thank you
Hello Julie, thanks for the comment. I've only had one Vintage with pre Wilkinson pickups. It had (I think) Korean made humbuckers. They were decent enough, but a bit 'muddy' compared to the ones I've had with Wilkinson. The newer ones can have different wilkinsons depending on the model, some have 'hot' sounding, which I think have Alnico magnets, some have a more standard sound. Either way, I've had quite a lot of Vintages through here and not had a bad guitar yet. Cheers, Mike.
Cheers...I’ve found a one with gold hardware from 2008 and they have Wilkinson pickups but they are telling me one or both are P90s...yet they look like the standard Wilkinson pickups...except they look chrome unless they we gold and have tarnished making them look silver..I’m confused by them saying they have P90s..not sure if it’s 1 or 2 P90s...
P90s usually have a single row of visible 'poles', unless they've covered it with a Humbucker chrome cover. It might have a mod, I think Vintage do a VS6 with a single p90, but most have humbuckers. Best just to ask for as much info as the seller can provide and see what you think. Good luck, cheers.

This was the third guitar I ever owned. I had a Marlin State of the Art, but swapped that for this exact model. Played and sounded great. Replaced it with a Hohner ST Viper II in coral pink.
Loved these guitars as a teenager. The warehouse was just down the road from me in Caerphilly. They also made Hohner guitars.
Thanks for the trip down memory lane, I had one of these in 1986, got it by saving up from my first job at 16 yrs old, crap it was that long ago.
Ive just bought one of these as my first guitar for my 30th birthday with a copy of rocksmith and a yousicion account
I have one, apparently their quite valuable mine is a 97.
Sorry...big delay in replying. They're great guitars, the value of MIJ Epiphones with the open book headstock has gone up since I posted this too from those I see around. Enjoy!
it looks great!!
Thanks for doing this in clean sound, beautiful guitar & sound so awesome!! I'm digging this guitar now. Cheers.
My VS6 left handed SG sounds absolutely great !! Only problem terrible feedback effect when playing with loud volume. You have to wax potting your pickup
Hi Botanifar, thanks for the comment. Yes, Vintage make some really decent guitars. I've guess it depends on the pickups they ship with, I've played at band practice with a couple of Vintage guitars but they had upgraded pickups and no bad feedback. Happy playing 😎👍
@@muzakshack5415 the pickups sounds great they are wilkinson humbucker
Good review Geordie I enjoyed that. I take it you found a buyer?
Cheers 👍 yeah this one sold last year.
hello pleas can you tell me about the frets ? how does it feel ,i mean are strong resistant m or soft blunt quickly? thank you!
Hi Alex, thanks for the comment. I didn't have this one for long, its sold quickly so I can't comment on how long the frets lasted on this one. I've had lots of Vintage guitars, typically they have medium-jumbo frets. The older ones I've had have not had much fret wear. Hope that helps.
@@muzakshack5415 i got it , I plan to buy this guitar and I heard some opinions from people that the keys would be a softer material and would rock faster. that `s why I asked, thanks for reply!
