That scene when Mildred and miss hardbroom have that deep talk is exactly why this version is better than the Netflix version In this version, yes hardroom is strict but it isn’t overexagerated and she still has moments of kindness and being relaxed. You can still sense she deeply cares for her students (including Mildred) and wants to see them succeed. The Netflix version she’s just too stiff, it’s almost like they had to make her meaner to be better but it’s not working as well. There needs to still be a right balance. That’s also why that scene I said seems more genuine, more realistic to see happen from the 2 characters we seen through the show. It would feel out of the place if the new version had that scene

I’m pretty sure out of 2 of the HB’s i’ve seen she is more intense and more likely to make a mountain out of a mole hill and more likely to assume that it was Mildred’s fault if something went wrong. So anyone that says that she was more nice to Mildred then the newer version I’m sorry but you’re wrong. I just got done watching the series and she was way more intense, she had her sweet moment but she was way more mean. I’ve only seen two and I love both of them so much both Kate and Raquel❤️. Raquel was the one that made me fall in love with the character but Kate made me love the character even more.
