I know I only play 4 verses, but these are (roughly) the words I know for this tune: 1 O Saviour, bless us ere we go; thy word into our minds instil, and make our lukewarm hearts to glow with lowly love and fervent will. Through life's long day and death's dark night, O gentle Jesus, be our Light. 2 The day is done, its hours have run, and thou hast taken count of all, the scanty triumphs grace...
Shine, Jesus, Shine!

It took me a long time to admit I don't mind this all that much. I've never really thought of it as something for the organ, but it actually works quite well. I remember when I first volunteered at one of the Churches I play or hav played at (I *think* it was @stjohntheapostleparishkipp7208 but not sure), and while trying out the organ I happened to play it - and was met with "I've never heard ...

love this tune , we sing it to "At the Lamb's high feast we sing"
I think that's actually the first words I played it to (earlier this year during Eastertide). It is a really lovely tune.

Let’s hope nobody noticed and thought it a part of the musical piece.
Heer uw licht en uw liefde schijnen.thats Dutch .from this song that youre playing.
I'm guessing that translates to something like "Lord, the Light of Your Life is shining" (that's how the English version goes )
Thats correct translate.
Very nice!
Thnk you for listening (and leaving a comment)
John Stainer's tune🌟
It's my favourite tune for it (probably because it's the only one I knew growing up) - but (I hate to admit) I actually didn't realise it was Stainer.
@@timrozitis961 I too grew up hearing this tune, but after hearing the Blaenwern tune, that became my favourite. I am from India, and here Stainer's tune is still common, Blaenwern is yet to pick up
@@apurvnandy3077 Blaenwern has grown on me (especially over the last 12 or so months), but I'm still very attached to this one for now ;)
This it's a vermilion song.i k'now this. Whe are singing that in Dutch. Sound very good.i playing organ to.
IT's a beautiful tune (and i wasn't until listening to it now I realised I added a lot of mistakes to it)
Jeah but dosn't matter. it's somefhings a wrong note playing and the tempo sometimes a litlebit slower and than faster.but i can say sound verry good to me.
Very nice experiment😊
Thank you - hopefully it gets better over time ;)
@@timrozitis961 it will be better and better 😃👍

Thank you! I'mm glad you liked it
Up until July 2024, I wanted to be a church organist since I was a kid - 40 years but it hasn't happened. Not a good thing to want to be in my country, here your face must fit if you want to be a Christian and mine most definitely doesn't! (probably why I'm studying the Quran). That said, I gave your video a like. Thank you. I used to love the Welsh ones.
Thank you - it's a real pity when people stereotype your ability based on your looks. Thank you for taking the time to listen, like and comment - you're right the Welsh seem to have some wonderful tunes!!!
Wonderful played and performed ❤❤❤
Thank you (as always) for your lovely encouragement!
Super played ❤❤❤

missä on suomi?
Apologies if I misunderstand, but basically this hymn tune is often called Finalndia, because it's based on one of the themes underlying Jean Sibelius' work of the same name.
Great lecture, dear Tim. I don't know this piece. Tobias
Thank you very much!
