    Do reps recommend lower Magnification to new naive students because they know students will eventually want higher magnification forcing them to buy new loupes from them? And what are some red flags from reps and companies I should look for when buying loupes?

    • @connorhenderson5396
      @connorhenderson5396 ปีที่แล้ว

      The loupes companies are all pretty similar as far as how their reps are. They want you to buy their product. That being said, the reps I've worked with were all pretty good at letting me look at their display pairs, try things on, go back and forth, and really try to guess what I thought would be good for me. At this point I would highly recommend a pair of ergonomic loupes. Many companies have them, but they will be great for your posture and help reduce pain. For normal loupes, I would recommend at least 3.5x, and if you're doing ergo loupes, I'd go even higher since your working distance will be different. Ask some of your upper classmen that are close to your same height to try on their loupes to get a better idea of what something is like. I hope these ramblings make sense. Feel free to reach out to me on instagram @doctor.henderson if you have more questions about loupes.

    Awesome video! great info I was just wondering what your personal experience is like in Roseman? This 3 year program definitely has mixed reviews of pros and cons on the internet. I wanted to know about this school anything you can share? Thanks!

    • @connorhenderson5396
      @connorhenderson5396 ปีที่แล้ว

      Overall I had a good experience in school! I really enjoyed and succeeded with the block curriculum. While I know there are things that I didn't get much (or any) experience with in dental school, I feel confident in my ability to do the basics of dentistry. Could you get a better clinical experience at another school? Absolutely. Are there cheaper schools? Yep. But based on my personal situation, Roseman was a good fit. That being said, the 3 year program will be a HUGE adjustment, and those students will be missing out on 800 or so clinical hours compared to those of us who were in the 4 year program. But, as I'm sure you know, its one less year of loans and interest accumulating, one more year of a salary, and if you really felt unprepared, you could go and do an AEGD/GRP and gain experience and confidence in more advanced procedures. Let me know if you have any more specific questions, I'm here to help!

I am planning to do a post-bacc as a non-traditional; I didn't take any science courses while I was in an undergrad program so setting up a course schedule is crucial for me. Is this a sign that due to the changed format of the board exam (from two separate ones into one integrated which focuses on clinical rather than detail oriented questions), dental schools deem it okay to shorten the program because the exam has become, maybe, easier?
