B&O by a country mile......

S75s, for sure. More life-like! I have a pair of S60s, I use them as side fills in my multichannel system - these are the only 2 out of the 9 speakers thatI have not built myself! However, I have replaced their tweeters with BGNeo3 planars, though, to match the other planars (and it also makes the treble more refined). I think there was only a minor crossover adjustment needed, if any (I have to check my notes) so it's all 100% reversible. Thank you for the video!

I think it would be interesting to see how a different amp would be able to control those B&W's That's one thing you can never throw out. I've owned and still have so much equipment. When I had the time, I used to switch out amps to speakers, vice versa. You will be surprised to what a difference it makes sometimes. Granted that Marantz is relatively new, sometimes changing out capacitors in vintage equipment will make a difference as well. That goes for all of it.,

B&O speakers (here S75) are really better... But this brand is generally head and shoulders above the rest, unless you buy new speakers between 10k€ and 100k€, very difficult to find a better brand except things aslike « Triangle » or ultra-high ends. I known this since 1994... When I tried out a Beosound system that my mother had won in a TV game. This was absolutely impressive for the beginner and passionate about music I already was ! It was a Beosound 3000 (/memories) very often seen in American movie sets because very esthetical, notably "Copycat" with Sigourney Weaver in 1995, but I cannot say how many times I have seen it on screen... Many many times. Its spatial distribution and its spectrum balance : I have never heard better at this price ! At the time, the value of this "TV gift" was around 10k FF or about 1500€ without counting inflation... Because better would be quite rare and above all hyper expensive. Yet I am an artist, especially musician and confirmed, and now used to quite high-end systems. In summary B&O tied for first place, in terms of having definitely turned my head about sound and musical appreciation, with a German brand of multi-instrument musical amp, not a living-room system but a concert sound one aslike for Woodstock, extremely powerfull and impressive, from the 60s (Klemt Echolette) and approved by The Beatles at that period. One word about B&O for beginners : absolute. At now, I want to upgrade my Sony system, which is sufficient for what I need. But to improve its sound restitution. I have only one idea in mind... Find a nice pair of B&O speakers on the market. Also this quick test confirmed it to me in a few seconds. The end of the jazz part is rather uninteresting for comparison even if nice to ear. But when you listen carefully to the beginning of the "classical" part, you realize that the bowed strings at the beginning of the extract are hardly audible on the other pair compared to the B&O pair. This is very revealing fo what this can do better, I think. Notice I listen with monitoring headphones and this detail is obvious to me, as I often listen to ultra-modern music and sometimes to older music, classical or baroque. I love your test, really. 🙏

Il problema dei video dimostrativi è legato al fatto che il fruitore (io) ascolta con le casse che ha a disposizione. Nel mio caso AR M1. Posso dire di preferire B&O forse per una "similitudine" con AR M1. Comunque complimenti. Saluti da Roma.

I’m listening to this again with BnO EX ear buds in the Bang and Olufsen are superior that base is too in yer face on the Bowers abd Wilkins don’t get me wrong the BW are super sharp but would I want to listen to them for several hours nope 👎

I really need a tube amp for mine now! Thanks, so rich and robust low end, convincing. I love my S45-2 as well, same basic sound, just clearer and a little more forward. The rosewood cabinets are absolutely stunning in person, no picture or video does them justice.

These are so close to the wall but they don't sound boomy at all. Are they that forgiving?

What did you do in terms of restoring the KEF 104/2 speakers? Did you refoam the woofers? It looks like you have an early model ( like me ) with rubber surrounds and rubber donuts. Since you have elevated your speakers, have you noticed a sound improvement compared to having the on the floor? Nice vid! I have a similar pair and my brother-in-law owns a black pair with bi-wire hookups.

Hi there, thanks for sharing your experience. I have recently got b&w 607s2 and they are sounded good with my Denon avr x-2700h so I went ahead and bought the b&w 603s2 and it’s sounding very harsh and lacks any character and bass. Do you think Marantz pm6006 will be a good match with b&w603s2? And for steaming the music what devise are you using? Thanks in advance
