Hi, thank you for your comment. I have studied Revelation 14:9-11 a lot and the other Bible passages that are normally used to validate eternal torment. Deep study won't validate that doctrine in my humble opinion. Please notice that John was quoting Isaiah 34, concerning the destruction of the land of Edom: 8 For it is the day of the Lord’s vengeance, The year of recompense for the cause of Zion. 9 Its streams shall be turned into pitch, And its dust into brimstone; Its land shall become burning pitch. 10 It shall not be quenched night or day; Its smoke shall ascend forever. From generation to generation it shall lie waste; No one shall pass through it forever and ever. Isaiah 34:8-10 NKJV Complete and definitive destruction is portrayed here, not eternal torment. Also, please notice that it is "the smoke of their torment" and NOT "their torment" that is forever and ever. Regarding the fact that they will be tormented day and night with no rest, it is clear that the suffering in the lake of fire will be proportional to each one's works (Revelation 20:11-15). Jesus spoke about different degrees of suffering for the wicked: 47 And that servant who knew his master’s will, and did not prepare himself or do according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes. 48 But he who did not know, yet committed things deserving of stripes, shall be beaten with few. For everyone to whom much is given, from him much will be required; and to whom much has been committed, of him they will ask the more. Luke 12:47-48 NKJV Clearly, some will be burning for a longer period and/or intensity, and that will last several days and nights. Eventually, that suffering will end in complete destruction. That is the only way to reconcile so many other passages that speak of destruction, including the words of Jesus Himself: "And do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell." Buy them both :) I have 🤣 IF I could choose only one I would probably go with the Schuyler since the bolder and bigger font are a huge + for me, and also the fact that I can use clean margins for my notes, while still having cross-references and translation notes at the bottom of the page. Can you give me some evidence for that? The Bible seems to clearly indicate it was on a Friday.

I gave this one away but for what I remember the font is small, as one would expect, but readable in my opinion. There's good space between the lines for the size of the font and the design also helps in readability.

The fact that there is some discrepancy in the margin space made it "less perfect" and allowed me to mark it more freely :) I've been using it for several years now every day. When I work a text well and make many annotations and underlining, I like to come back to it and read the words themselves in black and white. Hi there, the Bible simply says "magi [Gr. magoi] from the East came to Jerusalem," which can have a range of meanings (Matthew 2:1-12). "Magoi" was apparently used in the ancient world to describe priests of different religions who were also magicians and astrologers. They could be coming from Arabia, Babylon or even Persia. It is apparent that they studied the stars and believed they had an influence in human affairs. They were known as wise men and were definitely people of a certain social status, since they had fairly easy access to an audience with king Herod, and offered gifts to the child Jesus that were considerably expensive. Most likely they came across the prophecy of Balaam, recorded by Moses, who said that "a Star" would come out of Jacob and a "scepter" would rise out of Israel (Numbers 24:17). The fact that different people in the East were worshipers of the true God is apparent in the life of Balaam himself, even though he became corrupt and betrayed his calling after he blessed the people of Israel and went back home. He most likely came back to Balak, tempted by riches and honor, to offer the ungodly advice that became a snare to the morally weak Israelite men (See: Numbers 25; Numbers 31:16; Revelation 2:14). And even though we don't have any real evidence if the Magi were worshipers of the true God, or pagans, they recognized the value and superiority of the religion of Israel, I'm guessing by having access to the Scriptures (Pentateuch) and by studying them carefully, guided by the Holy Spirit. To me, one of the greatest lessons in the story is that, while the people of God is many times dormant concerning the prophecies that God has given us the privilege of knowing, others from the East and the West are paying close attention to them and being more blessed than we are. The Holy Spirit can and will guide anyone who is willing to be guided by Him, since Jesus did die for the sins of all humanity and not just for some people (1 John 2:2). The Bible is clear that not all will be saved, but all potentially could if they would choose to (John 3:16; Mark 16:15-16; 1 Timothy 2:4). It is clear to me that the Bible does teach that the Spirit of God works in the hearts of all peoples (Romans 2:12-16), or else no unbeliever would ever be converted to Christ (John 6:37-45). Bottom line, there will be many surprises in heaven. When He healed the centurion's servant, Jesus said: 11 And I say to you that many will come from east and west, and sit down with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven. 12 But the sons of the kingdom will be cast out into outer darkness. There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.” Matthew 8:11-12 NKJV Also worthy of note is that, Jesus received a visit from non-Israelites from the East shortly after His birth, or in the beginning stages of His life on Earth, and a visit from Greeks from the West, shortly before His death on the Cross. Jesus saw this last visit as an indication that the time had come for Him to be glorified through His death and resurrection and to attract to Himself different people from all the nations (John 12:20-32). He knew the gospel would be preached everywhere and many, not only Israelites, would come to Him and be saved. I hope and pray that you and I are a part of that group :) Blessings!
