2 verses later, in John 17:5, Jesus asks to be glorified together with the Father as they were before the world existed. I don't know what your religious beliefs are. If you believe there is no God, how does that really and truly benefit your life? If you do believe in God, and you are truly open to Christianity, please read the gospels. Not with the eye of someone looking exclusively for contradictions but with an open, honest mind.

This is so kind and thoughtful of you <3 what you said rings very true and I'm praying my way through this journey :) my goal for this first read-through is to get a really strong and broad biblical foundation. I really enjoy having theological debates w my (Christian) friends, and a few of my atheist/agnostic have been asking more questions recently. I want to be able to confidently give them biblical answers, and to align myself more with what God wants and has outlined in His Word. I would appreciate any prayers for this as well, as I struggle with discipline at times so showing up everyday can be difficult. Could you please outline some of the "immoral" and "disgusting" parts you found while reading the whole bible? With the context of no-one in the bible being perfect aside from Jesus=God=Holy Spirit, but God using imperfect people to accomplish His perfect plan?

So if things are written in the Bible that God is not fine with, he should have said so, if God is all powerful but he is doing nothing against the bad in the world, he is evil. if he is all loving and not doing anything about bad things in the world, he is not all Powerful.

@julia347 But of course He doesn't agree with all the goings on in the Bible, because it is clear that the people in the Bible are imperfect. They are not God=Jesus=the Holy Spirit, so they (the other people in the Bible) are not perfect. Only God is perfect (Matthew 5:48, Psalm 18:30, etc.). When individuals sin, they face consequences and must meet God halfway, repenting to a God who is "faithful and just to forgive us" (1 John 1:9). We learn through the lives of these imperfect believers that we don't have to be perfect. Instead, we have guidance on right and wrong in scripture, we all fall short of His perfect glory (Romans 3:23). When we do sin, we can repent and be made blameless in the sight of God (Ephesians 1:4). Ultimately, the Bible is one long story of imperfect believers pointing to Jesus (John 14:6, John 3:16, John 8:24, etc) Through His death and resurrection, we have the promise of eternal life with God. This is the theme of God's Word and is evident all the way through.

Jésus est Dieu, Dieu est l'Esprit Saint, L'Esprit Saint est Dieu :) Dieu en trois personnes. C'est un idée difficile de comprendre mais c'est ce qu'on crois en tant que chrétiens. C'est un peu comme: moi je suis humaine - je suis mon corps, mais en même temps je suis mon esprit, et de plus je suis mon âme. Ce n'est pas une comparaison directe mais ça pourrais l'expliquer peu mieux. Alors Il existe depuis le début du temps, et on L'entend parler tout au long de l'Ancien Testament. Quand Il est né, Il est venu au monde en forme humaine pour le sauver - pour nous sauver de nos péchés, et d'accomplir la loi. Avant qu'il est venu à mourir et vaincre la mort, on avait besoin de sacrifier des animaux pour nous libérer des conséquences de pêcher (une vie sans Dieu) mais après, depuis qu'il meurt, qu'il vainc la mort, et qu'il est ressuscité, nous seulement avons besoin de comprendre que nous sommes pêcheurs, et croire 3 choses: 1) que Jesús est Dieu, et croire en Lui 2) qu'Il est mort comme sacrifice pour nos péchés (en lieu des animaux de l'Ancien Testament) 3) qu'Il a été ressuscité (Il a vaincu la mort) Jean 3:16 PDV2017 [16] « Oui, Dieu a tellement aimé le monde qu’il a donné son Fils unique. Ainsi, tous ceux qui croient en lui ne se perdront pas loin de Dieu, mais ils vivront avec lui pour toujours.
