Hi Jason, I collected the sand blaster the other day from you and came across this video looking up mx5 installations. I thought your build looked great and decided to subscribe for updates. If you are interested in seeing more of my build I did an interview with 7Spot with a picture and video montage.
@@jonathanquinn9178 hey buddy haha small word, thanks for kind words and the sub, I'll definitely check yours out, always interested in what other people have tucked away in sheds
@ if you want a link to it let me know.
Nice!! I’m looking forward to this build!!! I have a 71 gt.
@@nathankesler8974 thanks bud, it's a hefty project haha but we're making good progress, cheers for watching
Lot of work brother but you’re doing it! Makes me feel lucky my gt’s have been spared the rust! Looking forward to more, thanks for another great video!
Thanks for watching, I hoping this will last for a long time after all this work
Looking good brother

Merry Christmas, keep up the good work.
Thanks, Merry Christmas to you too sir
Did you find a solution or oil type to reduce noise?
Not really no it's just the combination of everything lol
Wow I love your wheels. What are they?
@samristic4090 thanks I'm not sure they're off a pajero if that's any use lol
@@jrmfabrications it is in deed. Thank you so much. You don't by any chase know offset and width, just in the case you do
@samristic4090 now you're asking I've no idea, I do have it lifted aswell with bigger tyres
@@jrmfabrications Thanks
Good stuff. Are you putting an MX5 motor in there?
@spellacy29 thanks, yes mx5 engine, box and full wiring loom, using clocks, indicator/wiper stalks etc
gettin there J, good to see the floors back in… nearly a whole car again, with your mods…👍
Thanks, yeah it's starting to take shape, still alot of work in it but we're closer haha thanks for watching
Hello, "JRM FABRICATIONS" I was analyzing your channel and saw that in your channel have some problem, That's why your channel is not much growing and not getting much engagement, If you can solve these problems, Your channel will grow like a storm. If you tell I can tell these problems. Where can I tell? Here or email?
I need your motivation
@@Below_This it's a struggle haha
Thats trully looks sick. 😮
@olifs8083 haha thanks bud, cars sold now unfortunately, but the boy that bought it loves it
Love your dedication to the GT - well done. So interesting to see how these cars can rust and what is involved in the repair. I lived in UK for 22 years till 2010 and it was certainly an education when buying classic cars there, when the seller said the body was in excellent condition... ! Now back in OZ, I really appreciate the situation we have here more than ever. Older English cars from the 50/60s etc are on the whole pretty damn good, depending of course how they have been looked after. Structurally they can be very good, with some small localised rust if ever. It is the trim which can suffer here due to the Suns UV and heat etc, again it is down with how it has been looked after. Before I left for the UK in the 1980s, I owned an 1967 MGB GT imported in the late 60s. I recently found it again online 4 sale after 40 odd years. I bought her back and she is still original, body and paint, no rust, unlike myself ha ha. Amazing.
Thanks, yeah tbh I probably have a particularly poor example but I'm this deep now. Must be nice to pickup cars with a nice patina that isn't stone rotten underneath it haha Thanks for watching
By aerosol rust inhibitor and spray up the pillar that should neutralize any rust .
Was considering doing that then primer and cavity wax
@@jrmfabrications Use cavity wax after you have used The rust inhibitor
Seems like putting the MX5 tank in is more of a pain then it's worth. Nice job tho.
@David-wy9jl yeah but the boot floor was already rotten anyway, so I would have had to make a new one either way haha
Coming a long well,
@@TheRumpledinkieVintageWorkshop thanks its getting there 1 patch at a time

You can message me on my Facebook page if any use
@jrmfabrications have done Jay.
I love the videos, Jay just bought myself an RTEC welder. You're doing amazing. Keep up the good work. 👍
Rtec Welders are excellent I've an old draper expert welder that does the trick for me, thanks for watching bud
I thought it saw an RTec welder in your shop jay. I have restored my MGB GT in the same condition as yours only I put complete floors in mine including boot. Deleted the sun roof and got a bit of warpage and it bugged me so I put a complete new roof on. I should of done it in the first place.
@malcolmchadwick4047 yeah one of the main reasons I bought this one as it didn't have the horrible webasto roof tbh, I actually just finished the replacement floor for the drivers side this week, I'm trying to make as much myself as I can, they're cool wee cars, I'd like to see yours
Hi there......I just discovered your channel and I have subscribed. If I may, one way to try to keep your floor flatter after pressing through the bead roller is to pre-stretch the channels first. Buy one of the cheap bench mounted English wheels and use a fairly curved wheel (underneath) to stretch each of the channels that you want to form later. This will "pucker" the metal upwards because it has been stretched, but when you come to bead roll the same areas the extra metal that you have "produced" will then fold downwards to form your strengthening channels in the bead roller largely without distorting the rest of the panel. Keep up the good work.
Thats a great idea, I've a wee homemade English wheel that would work, I'll give it a go when I'm next rolling beads, I've unfortunately already done the rear part of floor now, thanks for watching and subscribing
What engine are you planning on putting in it?
I'm fitting a 1800 mx5 engine and gbox, I wanna fit the ful wiring loom aswell to use the cluster and steering column controls for lights, wipers etc
Good stuff. Many would've given up, but im pleased you haven't
I can well believe it haha I question myself sometimes, appreciate you watching
£13 wouldn’t cover the deisel 😂
@carmadrory good veg munching ranger strikes again haha but yes
Coming along nicely. Will be worth all the hard graft in the end. 👍
@@stusoldcars4248 thanks mate, yeah I'm hoping it'll last a good while after its all cavity waxed etc
wee buns
@@Below_This just another day in the office for you haha
Ahhh you got me!
Haha good shit
Looking really good man, proper progress 👏
Yes man, my god its time consuming
Doing well mate- great to see how you’re getting on! Know how it is sparing the time to do it, look forward to seeing how it goes
Thanks lad, yeah it's a time consuming rotbox haha keeps me busy though, everyone's take on patches is different, next upload is the drivers floor pan, that was a mess
Making good progress
Thanks, yeah it's coming along, just takes time
Brilliant work Jason. Thanks for taking the time to film all your hard work. It’s showing me the light at the end of the tunnel. JB
No problem, thanks for watching, hope you're project isn't as rotten as this one haha
Nice find on the Vice!
Yeah boy!! one man's garbage is another man person's good ungarbage
Serious work man looking great as always, way quicker than the other side
@WeeJinterz cheers lad, yeah abit handier when ya just chop everything out

Thought I had replied to this sorry, thanks, time consuming job but it's getting there, had some technical issues with my editing rig but I've it up and going again so hopefully have a new upload in the next few days
Brilliant progress mate 👍🏻👍🏻
Cheers lad, its getting there, really impressive the extent of the rot haha see you're getting on rightly, you'll be starting bodywork soon
Lots of work! Good job though.
Yeah it's a Ripper of a job but hopefully with it all cavity waxed it should last a brave while
@@jrmfabrications I'll probably have to do mine at some point but so far the sills are original and in good shape
@stuwhite2337 not so bad then, this thing has rot everywhere, wasnt quite expecting it to be so bad tbh, too deep into it now haha
@@jrmfabrications yes, mine was actually far less rusty than I was expecting. I think that was because it had sat outside for 20 years and being a roadster the floors had completely rotted out but the sills, rear wings and rear wheel arches were perfect.
@stuwhite2337 haha you should see the state of this drivers floor, it's absolutely shocking
I would highly recommend getting some weld through primer so you can coat the pieces before you weld them in. Obviously it's too late for the left side, but for the rest of the car, it will save you from having to do it all again sooner than it should. Well, it will save someone :-)
@stuartferreira3338 yes I had it on order it just hadn't arrived when I was doing the first area, but I appreciate the guidance, there's been alot of welding now at this stage, thank you for taking the time to watch
@@jrmfabrications You're doing a great job! Can't wait to see it done.
@stuartferreira3338 thanks, blows my mind the rot lmao glad I didn't pay much for it, someone definitely spent alot of time doing it poorly before
Gull wing?
@TheRumpledinkieVintageWorkshop lol was watching you're reverse light delete the other day, coming along well
One side done and one to go. Be interesting to see how bad the drivers side is. Not looking good though. 👍👍
Haha, yeah the drivers isn't looking pretty tbh, but it's actuality came together pretty quick tbh, I'd send you a photo but I'm not sure how to on TH-cam lol
@jrmfabrications Not sure if you can add the community tab on your channel but you can add photo's to that. Rings a bell that you can add it after 500 subs. By the way you deserve a lot more subs than you have with the work your doing. 👍
@stusoldcars4248 appreciate that bud, they'll come in time I suppose
I always wondered why the front fenders were called wings.
Haha I've never thought of it before, just what they've always been called when I was growing up
Cause our friend is winging it
I'm joking we are in real life friends
@@JinterzGarage haha yeah boy
@@jrmfabrications yeet ahaha
What welder you got lad
@ryanrepairs6944 hey bud, I run a draper expert 64301, pretty good welder, they don't make my model anymore I think but the now ones like half the price now haha its does scratch start tig aswell but I've a dedicated ac/dc tig now so i just use it as a mig
@@jrmfabrications cool thanks I'm from NI too been enjoying tour Channel for a month or so now. Keep it up
Ah cool man, cheers
It's coming along nicely. On the bonnet hinge the small holes are there to pin so in theory the bonnet goes back in the same position. To be honest though mine didn't. Lol. 👍👍
Cheers bud, yeah the bonnet needs lifted at the back and stuff, I'm just gonna mess with it until I have it sitting how I want it, its all a long process
Good Job man i know thats a good task to remover everything
