The ball you use in Gen 3 will remain the same the entire journey. Eg I used a Master Ball on this Mew and it remained in a Master Ball in every Gen and HOME. The reason I used a Master Ball instead of using a Dive Ball or Premier Ball was I was afraid it would use Metronome and then explosion etc so watch out for that.

There were a few things in this hunt that affected me that forced me to push through. Eg some people like to colour coordinate the Pokéballs they use with the shiny colour. For some hunts I tried to do that, but for a lot I just used Ultra Balls or Repeat Balls, which don’t look as nice sometimes, but I made peace with it. I would definitely be more annoyed if all the OT names weren’t exactly the same. Thankfully in my case I have always used the same name in all my games so I was ok here. Some hunts required me to faint a shiny to get a shiny, e.g I got 2 shinies a couple of times while doing the SOS method in Gen 7, which ultimately meant I had to knock one out to catch the other. Let’s Go occasionally shinies I wasn’t looking for popped up when I had a chain going for another mon I was hunting. But I was more than happy in these instances to run away from these shinies and keep the chain going. I guess some things I’m pretty selective over and others not so much.

Anyone could probably do that and HOME would know no different. But where is the challenge in that. I felt so much more fulfilled doing it the hard way and getting it properly :)

For my list I’m only counting mons from the main line series games, with the Meltan line and Roaming Form Gimmighoul being the only exception. But you are right in saying yes I would get an own OT Genesect from GO.

It is tedious yes haha I have gotten really good at this point at shuffling everything along. So I only really need to set aside about an hour every year or so to move everything and then I’m good until the next game.

Yep sadly they aren’t boxable forms. I may shiny hunt doubles of them one day if they ever make them boxable, but I am currently at peace with it.

Lol. I have always have pretty stable jobs thankfully. Most of these were caught during two years of on / off Covid lockdowns while working simultaneously from home. Made it so much easier to hunt.

I can 100% hand on heart say everything in my dex was shiny hunted all on original games using original hardware only. No external tools were used and certainly no hacking tools. Happy to chat further on any of the individual hunts.

Currently I only care about forms that are boxable. E.g. Pokémon that require a hold item to change form will revert back to their default form in HOME and can’t be boxed. If this changes in the future I may go back and get them all. Credit to the people who have actually hunted 18 Arceus / Silvally etc

Sadly I never got any from my own raids. I was lucky enough to join a couple of different streamers who found a shiny raid in their own games. Even though it’s my own OT, I see the current shiny Gimmighoul and Gholdengo I have as placeholders until I can get them hopefully in my own game.

I need to update the description of this video. The version of the game at the time of recording this video still had broken outbreaks. Meaning with Tauros for example, no matter if it was Combat Breed, Blaze Breed (in Scarlet) or Aqua Breed (in Violet) which appeared as an outbreak on the map, the actual outbreak would always result in Combat breed only. The method in this video was optimal at the time, but GameFreak has since fixed this bug when they released the Kitakami DLC.

Shiny Manaphy is unquestionably the worst Pokémon to shiny hunt! Much worse than Jirachi or Mew or Deoxys. The fact you have to replay the first part of Gen 4 games (in my case Pearl and Platinum) over and over again to be able to trade and then hatch the Ranger eggs over and over again is so slow. It’s a unique hunt but it takes a lot of patience.

@@herogreene4224 I played through Emerald multiple times because I wanted the Deoxys all to have a different Trainer ID number, just in case Pokémon HOME didn’t like having 4 shiny Deoxys with the same Trainer ID number. A lot slower to do but it’s a more comfortable feeling knowing they’re all unique.

So you had 4 different emerald cartridge?? and did you have anything to control all 4 DS with one controller or you did it manually ??

@@herogreene4224It was the slow method of one at a time. I only had the one Emerald cartridge. The hunts took place on my original DS from when I was a kid. The first save file I caught shiny Mew and shiny Deoxys. I then transferred these mons up into USUM. Then I erased the Emerald game save, played through and became Champion again and then started the second Deoxys shiny hunt. Then I did two more save file erases and playthroughs to shiny hunt two more Deoxys. I changed their forms later on in USUM before transferring eventually to HOME. I also later did three more separate Emerald playthroughs to get the non-shiny versions of Deoxys (I already had one Deoxys from the ORAS post game). So overall I played through Emerald 7 times on the one cartridge.

@Hylianstagram wow and thanks for taking your time to type that I just subscribed to you on twitch, but last question why didn't you do any of the hunts on a GBA Operator isn't it faster but still Legit the sametime by using multiple screens for more encounters when you start over a profile for the different trainer ID?

@@herogreene4224 thanks so much mate! GB Operator would have definitely been faster but I only like using original hardware and software for my hunts and try to hunt them as standard as possible. Sounds dumb and slow but it feels good.

If the 3DS has Pokémon Bank installed on it already then you can still transfer to HOME. If it doesn’t have Bank installed then you cannot do so without modding the 3DS and installing Bank through alternative means. I have two unmodded 3DS’ with Bank so I’ve never had to Google how to mod a 3DS, but I’m sure it would be easy to learn how.
