Primus live Roskilde 1991 audio remaster
An attempt to remove some harshness, balance the sound and make the bass more audible especially in the busier sections

that my name is mud ending going on for so long is honestly hilarious, I couldn't stop giggling
Les dressed like he just finished building someone's deck.
I want that steal your face Les was rockin in .
Props to the camera man, absolute legend especially for someone like me who was not old enough at the time to appreciate such greatness!
Only just started listening to them after they played at the South Park 25th anniversary 🍻🍺
Pure gold! Infamous Roskilde year, where it just rained and rained.

I promise if you try you won’t find a bad recording of primus…… I promise
In the old times it was not a crime
"...10's of people will see this...". 36 years later @ over 250k views. You really just never know in life.
That pork soda tour and desaturating seven are the best primus shows I've ever seen. They were fire during pork soda that was just a mind-blowing album... Musicianship was off the charts.
I love that pork pie percussions drum set that herb had that thing was massive it was bigger than Neil peart's drum set of course at that time Neil wasn't using double bass anymore he was using single bass drum on his purple Ludwig kit during roll the bones when Primus open for rush
The first part of the sailing the Seas of cheese tour they opened up for Rush February 3rd 1992. Still got my ticket stub. I don't know how long they are on tour opening up for rush but I believe they wrapped up that part of the tour with rush and went off on their own and headlined because I've heard people say that fish bone played at this show and when I saw them they were opening for Rush during sailing the Seas
I even saw these guys during Frizzle Fry at Tipitina's in New Orleans in 1991. Then I saw Primus open for rush in 1992 at UNO Lakefront Arena my song in 93 or 94 for pork soda at the state Palace Theater in New Orleans and I saw him again in a few years later for Tales from the Punchbowl at the same place State Palace.
Ive been told recently that Primus is Tool for rednecks... IMO, Primus is way better
Just to let y'all know that interview they did in the sessions they played on the radio was from 89 not 91 and this outdoor concert is from either right before salling the seasons of Cheese came out or right after because herb had not been endorsed by pork pie percussions yet & they were about to get picked up by Rush on the roll the bones tour
But right around this time in Los Angeles all these were exploding on the scene like Primus tool Rage Against the Machine helmet Rollins band Jane's Addiction Fishbone Mr Bungle and Faith No More who was blowing the roof off of the soccer in 1990 with the real thing and Mike Patton had just put out his first Mr Bungle album which was just insanity. just an incredible abundance of new music that was2 shape the nineties
Larry Lalonde was in one of the early metal bands from( black metal & thrash) San Francisco movement in the 80s like Metallica Exodus Testament and death angel etc. I don't know why Larry Lalonde doesn't get the respect that Les and Tim get cuz he is absolutely amazing on guitar and they would not be where they are without him his guitar playing in style is so critical to their sound.
Yeah this music was absolutely over the top blow your mind music like nothing anybody had ever heard before in 1989- 1990. And just about to put out suck on this not an easy CD to find back then and neither was Frizzle fry when it first came out on Caroline records! I remember seeing their first video John the Fisherman video on Headbangers ball on uh Saturday and it just floored me especially Tim herb Alexander's drumming and and one of my biggest influences..... he's a Madman on the drums nobody quite like him and he's one of the best that's been around the past 35 years but he had to go retire on me personally I don't think he's done playing music but regardless I'm going to miss him on the throne for Primus they should just hire Jay Lane who played on green naugahyde and the tour and he was also on the sausage album. But frizzleFry came out when I was in 8th grade. This is one of the greatest discoveries of my music life they absolutely changed the way I thought about music!!! I've never had a band that impressed me as much as they did at that time other than Rush and it made me feel out of this world listening to that fucking music especially the Frizzle fry that song is ridiculous that show their musical prowess. Freaking Rush on steroids....... as an 8th grader hearing this for the first freaking time and I was the only one out of my friends that saw the John the Fisherman video on Headbangers ball and nobody else saw it except for me, and of course nobody believed me about this new amazing man I had found you know I was trying to take credit for finding these guys but eventually all my friends learn the error of their ways and heard this band and they were blown away and it changed the way they thought about music. And I honestly don't think I saw another one of their videos again until Jerry Was a Race Car Driver came out and then they just blew up and next thing you know I'm seeing them open up for rush for the roll the bones tour in 1992 at UNO Lakefront Arena in New Orleans. Now that was the greatest show of my life. The Pressman is a badass song in 1991 the 4 best albums that came out were Frizzle fry, End of Silence( Rollins Band) ,Gish(smashing pumpkin)& Blind( CoC) . Larry and Les should hire Jay Lane their drummer from sausage and he was on the Green naugahyde tour. I couldn't have asked for a better decade to grow up in truly incredible time for music in the late 80s and 90s and it was so very vital to my being. But this is rare and absolutely classic Primus in their youth before Frizzle fry. Little did this guy know that these guys would be around as long as they have in a mass and incredible following of Hardcore fans like myself have been digging this music for 34 years so from the bottom of my heart thank you so much Lester Larry and Herb. And I've been there for 33 of those years. I didn't realize Primus had their record label already prawn song they were also being distributed by Caroline during suck on this and Frizzle fry and then Interscope on sailing the Seas This will be a fine day.......
I saw them play in Cleveland (TAD opened) and they had to shut the show down because the rhythmic jumping of the audience was collapsing the beams on the floor beneath.. disappointing but it was an AMAZING show none the less…
sick
@@wish8486 Thanks! 🤟
I still have this on VHS from the 90's
fuck i love that they played the version of john the fisherman with the cover of yyz at the beginning. it fucking sucks
"i hope nobody gets pissed"
Primus interpretando The Bed's Too Big Without de Tha Police es de las cosas mas locas incluso en los estandares de Primus
Man they really put the DJ through the ringer on this one lolol. I feel like you can tell he's super annoyed at times.
45:18 0ver and over again. one of the best and unique solos I've ever heard.
Bitcoin and Primus! A golden combination!
They started playing YYZ a little before actually starting right?
They are really awful; but I see why people love them. Rhythmically they have solid thing going on… but melodic wise they are a mess. An absolute mess…. 🤣
I seen them this summer in Buffalo and Primus Sucks!
What's funny/impressive about this is to think about the time period of this actual recording - someone snuck in a physical video camera and sat there the whole time recording it while holding this bulky camera haha
Basura. Rush hacen canciones, pero esto es horrible... Puajjjj
1:36 poetry and prose tease
I saw Primus along with The Melvins in Houston somewhere in this timeframe 91-92
I was there, 2 months after they opened for Rush in Oakland, my first pogo experience which was unreal
Y yo aqui desde Perú, escuchando Primus!!!!!
Tim is something else ❤
I used to have a live recording of them from 2 shows in 1 day, aquatic Park and Berkeley Square in '88, just one of many lost treasures
Not to defame any of the other incredible bassists out there, but Les is the "Jimi of the 4 string"!
Man what a crowd. Epic.
