เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 14 ต.ค. 2024
Hello! My name is Mark Darwin and I have created Tech in the real world, to try and provide clear, concise and genuinely helpful guidance on buying and using the latest technology. I have had a strong interest in Technology since I can remember and would like to share my knowledge and experience, which I have built up over the years, from using many different smartphones, laptops, tablets etc.
As a regular TH-cam viewer, the content I am wanting to get out there, is trying to help people understand how tech can improve their everyday lives and also getting people to understand how these products can work for them. The channel will also showcase the latest and greatest tech as I have a real passion for these products, so they need to be featured!

I have re--worked this slightly and please do watch if you are having issues with the snapdragon x elite in da vinci resolve as it may help!😀
Has anyone got this phone or looking to buy it? Let me know if there is anything specific in the review you want me to cover 😀 Its the 256GB + 12GB RAM version I went for to test.
Bought it last week and just sent it back, I was very close to keeping it but in the end I couldn't trust the cameras, took a lot of photos of the grandkids and some came out great, better than my iPhone 16 Pro but some looked awful, skin looked plastic and hands deformed, if you look at the face of the dog in this review you will see the problem. Should be able to fix in software but it was between this and Galaxy S25 Ultra, so im giving that a go. Great phone, slightly better than the Oneplus 13 but needs to be more consistant in photography.
@@DavidBurns174 cheers thanks for sharing! Yes must be software issues been using my OnePlus 13 as my main phone now for a few weeks and actually love it! I think manufacturers are getting abit over excited with AI enhancements on photos...
I really love my oneplus buds pro 3! Got them when they fist came out and received the pro 2 as a gift as well! Oneplus is a great value for money! The oneplus 13 is a bit of a bummer, apart from the better processor, almost everything else is the same as the last year's model! It's also a shame that the chargers are missing from the boxes nowadays! This regulation makes no sense. We are forced to buy chargers separately from the phone if we want to enjoy the fast charging capabilities of the device thus, spending more money and wasting extra packaging...
@@Sebilion12 thanks yes the OnePlus buds pro 3 are great I was really impressed with their sound quality (full review coming soon). Interesting on the 12, I think manufacturers are finding it harder and harder to add headline features! Yes the charger issue I agree they should offer a choice at checkout whether you need one or not! Wonder what else they will try and remove 😂 optional battery.....
Thank you very much for the nice review! I am currently using a Samsung galaxy s23 ultra. The Samsung galaxy s25 ultra was such a disappointment... I am seriously considering the honor as an upgrade due to the secure face unlock sensor. I am a bit worried about the zoom quality as I use a lot of 5x-10x zoom and I've heard the quality is not that good. Looking forward to the comparison with the Oppo find x8 pro and the oneplus 13. 😊
@@Sebilion12thank you! Yes the s25 does seem to be abit of a letter down I've got bot the s25 and s25 ultra coming next week for full review! Will get the photo comparison on asap 😀
Hello brother your video was great! I wanted to ask you about op13r im going to buy it in some few weeks so basically im not that camera centric guy or hardcore gamer as i used to play 6 hours on my college days but now im doing a job i'll not get time to play games for hours so what's was your experience on 13r till now about its os experience camera and gaming i have the budget of 13r only just ya how was your experience till now with the 13r let me know😉🙌🏻 Love from India🇮🇳
thank you! the 13R is a great phone, just looses out on wireless charging and top camera specs. The Snapdragon Gen 3 CPU is fast enough to run most games anyway, so you wont have any issues if you do want to game on it. The cameras arent as good as the 13 but they are still good. You loose out on some video features like 8k etc but you don't really need that. I think you will love the 13r :)
Great review. I've got an Oppo Find X5 pro. I need to get a new phone. Fast charging, big battery and fast is only requirement, camera not important. What do you recommend
@@iwantthatone6522 thanks might be worth looking at the OnePlus 13R as it has a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 CPU so is super quick and 6000mah battery with fast charge just no wireless charge though only wired. £679 I've done a comparison on the 13 and 13R on my channel if you want to see it. If not there are some bargains on the Samsung S24 ultra at the moment I just picked one up for £899 down from £1200 and its a great phone still.

If anyone is looking at both these phones let me know if you have any questions! Anyone got one of these already and like or dislike them?
What about the heating issues
@SuhasReddy-h4x sorry yes I covered this in one of my snapdragon 8 elite videos! I pushed both phones with benchmarks 3d for 40 minutes and whilst they got hot I had no issues with the phone shutting down or anything. I don't normally benchmark but I wanted to see if they would overheat and they didn't 😀

@@Kornwallace334 I thought it was really good at portraits! Are you just using the standard settings m?
@Techintherealworld I am. I'm amazed by pretty much everything else these cameras can do, but everything with a human in it just looks different. I'm coming from a Pixel 6 Pro.
@Kornwallace334 interesting I did take alot of pictures of my dog and they looked great so will look into it in case it's a skin tone thing there are alot of filters can try playing around with to see if it makes a difference

Thank you for posting I am using Lightroom, Photoshop Davinci Resolve and Premiere Pro for video editing My camera shoots 4k 10bit 422 Should i get X elite laptop.?
@@drbeardo6960 good questions thanks! I was actually sat editing on my x elite machine last night in da Vinci resolve but in 8bit. If you want to edit in 4k 60 10 bit 422 then you can do it but you need to lower the timeline resolution. The MacBook pro base M4 is quicker still for da Vinci but the snapdragon isn't far off! Photoshop is great on it, premier pro doesn't have a native arm app yet so is Terrible! If you want to edit natively in high Res and don't want a Mac then this will do it but a Nvidia dedicated GPU would be quicker, but then you loose the snapdragon advantages like thinness and it doesn't run to hot! Overall I do really like the surface 7 let me know if you want me to do a video showing more editing in da Vinci in 10 bit 4k
where are the photos comparison?
@@jeremyhelias5450 currently putting together a video for that! I was planning to do Oppo x8 pro, OnePlus 13 and Honor magic pro 7, but let me know if you want the iPhone in there as well!
Coming from Samsung Z fold 4, what do you think about the OS and user experience? I have already ordered one and I understand this might be too late for me to ask, but as I'm purely a virgin to Honor smartphones and their ecosystem, do you think the os is too gimmicky and polluted with unwanted apps and features?
@@suvanshgupta8079 actually I think the opposite I am using a Honor magic v3 as my main phone at the moment and I am very happy with their magic os system. It does have some bloatware but nothing that bothers me that much. So I think you will be happy with it but let me know!
I daily use Microsoft Office, Quickbooks and some ERP software, do they work on this???
MS Office runs perfectly as its got native ARM support from MS. For the other software, it can run any that runs on Windows X86 ie Intel/AMD via emulation so don't worry about that. Emulation is only an issue when you need the most performance like for graphics intensive tasks but for office based work it will be 100% fine :)
@Techintherealworld thanks 😊
Torn between the S25 Ultra and the OP13! I'm in the Samsung eco system, but so tempted to jump!
@@drones2160 I've got one on order should be coming next week! From what I've heard it's not a huge step up from the s24 and is pretty expensive with 12gh ram compared to 16 on the OnePlus! I think Samsung and apple have got more competition than ever now. Will get my thoughts on the channel asap on the S25 as soon as I get it. Sounds like the S25 camera video is a big selling point with log recording etc, but the OnePlus shoots great 8k video and is cheaper with 512gb standard. You won't be disappointed with the OnePlus 13 it's an excellent phone.
@Techintherealworld thankyou! I think I'm going to jump to OP13! I'm currently on an S23Ultra, but there wasn't much of a huge upgrade on the S25U. I've got a Samsung tab and Samsung phone so heavily in their ecosystem, haha. Their pass system and Samsung pay is very slick but I'm sure I could get used to something else
@@drones2160 I think its a good choice and OnePlus do have a 30 day returns policy no questions asks! I use many different Android tablets all the time and have no issues swapping between them. I store all my photos in google photos and docs in google docs etc which is the easiest way. I haven't personally tried the Samsung eco system yet but will be doing soon!
Anyone picked up the Honor Magic 7 Pro or looking at it? Let me know if you have any questions or thoughts 🙏
This phone is a real mixed bag. On the one hand, it's a joy to use - smooth, packed with handy features, and great for everyday tasks. But the camera? A complete letdown. Anything beyond 6x zoom is unusable. The AI and oversharpening go crazy, making photos look artificial and destroying any detail. It's especially noticeable with pictures of people. Zoom in, and faces become a blurry mess of fake detail. If photography is important to you, steer clear. This phone might be great for other things, but it's not for capturing memories.
@SibTiger33 interesting thanks for sharing! I do agree on the AI point about over doing it which annoys me with alot of phones I didn't personally think the Honor was any worse and I enjoyed the AI movie features,! I think the OnePlus 13 is my current favourite camera
I ordered my😁
Just got mine had it a few days and its an amazing phone, the camera is outstanding too. Just wondering how to you activate the AI zoom ? Is it after 30x zoom the icon should show as it isn't showing on mine for some reason unless you have to activate it in the settings? Anyway I definitely recommend this phone it's amazing 👍
@silverfox4113 glad to hear you like the phone! There was a software issue I think where it wasn't showing until you installed the latest update. Are theres any updates showing under the system settings?
I don't know why you keep testing laptops that aren't made for video editing, i.e., this and s16. You need a graphics card. Test the ProArt P16 1899 with a 4060 and 4k OLED 32 gigs of ram can order with 64 gigs of ram.
Thanks I completely get your point! I really wanted to see how the new ARM laptops worked compared to apple and there pretty good 👍 so I just wanted to see what the GPU was like on the snapdragon x elite 🙂 I will pick up a dedicated GPU laptop soon!
I think personally that £399 is more mid range than budget. If you want more features and less cost then the Poco X7 Pro at £300 is a better choice and I'm glad I didn't buy the Honour phone now after you review. 😊
@@OliG-ys7ii thank you and I would love to try Poco phones they are on my list! Look excellent value for money.
Hello. Thanks for your review. I like the Huawei screenrecording gestures, and I believe Honor have the same. This is a feature that I am missing, so looking to buy Honor. I also like the note taking using Ai on the Samsung S24 Ultra, so I can take a photo and copy the writing. Also, voice type my notes. My question, what's the AI features on the Magic7lite, as I currently have it in my basket, but don't want to make a mistake in buying...thank you.
@@scqh6775 hello and thank you for your feedback! Honor does have plenty of AI features like you can knock the screen twice with your knuckle and it will record the screen. The 7 lite does run the previous version of Magic OS so you do loose out on a few features over the magic 7 pro just to be aware. Still you have alot of the Google AI like circle to search etc which works well. There is a magic text feature which extracts text from pictures is that what you need?

Commenting after a few days of getting the m4 iMac and remembered how much this vid helped me whether to get it or not, tysm! ❤
Thanks for the positive feedback means alot and exactly what my aim is! Hope you are enjoying it.
Actually, the screen is constructed from Ceramic Guard and not gorilla Glass victus. In addition, the black eclipse and white Arctic Dawn models have back panels constructed from Crystal Shield ceramic glass. Frankly, I like the ocean blue color but, I'm not crazy about the fake tree hugger leather. Thus, I purchased mine in Black eclipse.
thanks for pointing out! Got mixed up between the 13R and the 13! The Blue is lovely and refreshing not to have a slippery back....
@Techintherealworld It's just not my thing. In addition, that version is slightly thicker. Besides, I always use an OEM aramid or sandstone bumper case. I purchase both an rotate them. Furthermore, the black eclipse isn't very slippery. Moreover, I like the feel and look of the crystal Shield material. I hope it's as strong as they claim.
@@dr.fitprofessor1970 yes I am hoping we are finally moving towards careless smartphones one day! The ones I've tested this year so far feel stronger than ever 😬 just have to see how the glass wears over time it feels really well made at least.
Caseless*
@@Techintherealworld there are many solid alternatives to gorilla glass. Oneplus did a lot of R&d on the crystal Shield before they released it. I have high hopes for it. It's their proprietary material so, I think we'll be seeing much more of it in the future.
I really want one but im skeptical about ARM. So im gonna either pull the trigger and get this and see how it goes or wait for Lunar Lake version which will be announced end of the month. otherwise its the perfect laptop for me 🫠
@SK_44 yeah before I tried windows on ARM I was sceptical to but it really surprise me windows runs much better! If you do any gaming though go down the x86 route as it's not for gaming!
I'm torn between this the realme gt 7 pro or the redmagic 😅 why is there now so many options! What's the 4k 60fps filming like? I record a lot of nature and concert's. Battery life for a heavy user would last more than a day? Good review man given you a like too :)
@@bigload6 thanks very much for the positive feedback means alot! The 4k60 really impressed me on it tbh even on the front camera, if you do nature shots the Oppo X8 Pro might be better as that has a 6x telephoto lens optical zoom and I would say the cameras are slightly better I've done a review on that of you search my channel. Haven't tried the other phone but would love to and will have a look at bringing them to the channel 😀
@@bigload6 battery life is good I was outside all day filming on it and photos etc calls and it easily lasted the day if not longer no issues there
I love my M4 iMac, 16 GB of ram is a big difference, the 8GB I had on my MBA M2 wasn't enough. I needed a big screen. Gained a subscriber!
@@Ilovetech001 cheers thanks very much appreciate it! Yes the 16gb has made a huge difference I agree just wish apple had done that years ago haha
I use a HP Omnibook X 14 X1E model, and it's been running smoothly this whole time. Battery life has dropped off a bit since I first got it, but that could be due to Windows 11 24H2 and not the X1E. I really think this is the future, and I'm hoping that the linux community finishes the linux builds soon so I can swap over. The alpha/beta builds work for now, but I'm still missing the audio driver and some other things still don't work well yet.

cheers thanks for pointing out!
i got mine just 2 weeks ago. I freedive and usually go out cycling and trail running.. when I looked around for a practical watch, this gem piqued my interest. After watching a lot of reviews and researching, finally bought it and I am loving it! the free dive feature is one of the best features. Though, they did not really focus on that because they are leaning towards golf, but man, I am so impressed. Even when I go out biking and other stuff, it blows my mind on how easy this thing is. Must probably say one of the best purchases I have so far. And in my opinion as an iPhone user, yes, this is far more better than buying an expensive smart watch that really does not do much than this gem.
great that you love the watch! It was definitely one of the best watches I've used and can imagine it would be great for doing diving, good to hear it actually it is though! I thought it was built like a tank as well, so should last a while hopefully!
It wasn't out of stock. You can only get the Sapphire and Dune colors in the 13.8-inch model. The 15-inch only comes in black and platinum. I have the Sapphire, 16 GB, 512 SSD, X Plus. The fan has never kicked on. The laptop remains cool. I don't do video editing. I really love the Surface 7. When I tested, I got 18 hours of watching videos online, and I still was at 17 percent battery. I use it to do tasks on various LMS (learning management systems) and Zoom conferences. I also love that the photos change every time I open the laptop. They look stunning on the screen as do full length movies. The laptop is a bargain in the U.S. My smaller model was cheap, $899 US dollars; sometimes it is even cheaper. I looked today, and I can get your model for $1,600.00 U.S. dollars (and that's a lot of storage and RAM). The Mac Air is more expensive here: $200.00 more than the 15-inch Surface with 16 GGB, 1 TB SSD for the 15-inch Mac M3 with 16 GB, 512 SSD. However, I know the Surface is often more expensive in other countries. The only problem I had (but I also had it with my M3 Mac Air) is I could not hook my old laser jet printer to it. I have to print from my old Dell laptop. (Correction: I am now able to use the Surface to print from my laser jet printer, including double-sided. It now works with the ARM driver provided by Microsoft.) I'm keeping the blue box for the Surface. It was so attractive. I could not throw it out. I don't have any trouble with the haptic touchpad, but another video mentioned that problem, so it may be a potential glitch only in the 15-inch. I'm sure I'd like the larger screen ever better, but I didn't want two black laptops. (My M3 Air is Midnight, which is black despite what anyone says.) I wanted Sapphire. You did a fair review (unlike some reviewers who are total Apple fanatics). I like both my Air and my Surface 7 for different reasons.
Is anyone looking at this laptop or bought one and have any thoughts?
Looking to buy this laptop. Is it suitable for daily office work? What is the battery life? Is 16 GB RAM and 512 GB SSD enough for Google Chrome and Microsoft Excel?
@HassanKyeswa yep definitely more than suitable for office work! It's a great laptop, well made and great screen. 16gb should be fine for excel etc I choose 32 as I was editing video and photos on it. Basically if you don't want a Mac this is a great alternative.
Maybe you just got a faulty one? I must have seen over a dozen reviews of this laptop and they all say it performs great.
@@ohwhatworld5851 yeah I did wonder that but if you dig a little deeper there are quite a few reviews who found the same as me. A lot of the main ones are sponsored by Asus... I am more than happy to be proved wrong though as I don't like having to give a bad review on anything!

@ After further searching and reading I've found some things out. That article you link is for the lower end 365 chip, the reviews I've seen are for the 370. It does appear there was a heating issue, so Asus reduced the TDP on standard mode down to 20w but kept the TDP at 28w for Performance mode. Not entirely sure if that addressed the heating issue but it brings me to my next point. I am sure you did run your tests on Performance Mode, but I want to double check, as the Standard mode has a much lower TDP
@ohwhatworld5851 interesting thank you! I played around with most of the settings they even have a way of changing the fan speed on the Asus app and the Ryzen you can customise the performance and power on it. No matter what I did it ran incredibly hot. If you put the fan on full speed which was really loud it did help a bit. I've been trying the Microsoft Surface 7 and I find that much better have you looked at that?
@@Techintherealworld Hmmm ok I just watched a video from JustJoshTech and it seems Because of thermal issues, Via a BIOS update Asus has now reduced the maximum TDP to 28w on Performance Mode (a reduction of 5w) and I believe 20w on Standard Mode (a reduction of 7w). So all of the reviews I'm seeing from before the BIOS update have 33w which is probably why their performance is much better than your machine.
I got mine yesterday and was pulling my hair out. The updates took about 3 hours, then realised that in the MyAsus app there were several more updates and that took a while too. The core temp shot up so that the upward faces vents were shooting out hot air and the base was untouchable. After faffing about and listening to the fans going nuts I turned it off and went to bed very, very annoyed after shelling out nearly 1600 euros. Today, however, it seems to be working fine. The battery is jumping up and down but is now saying 5 hours left on 50 per cent. But the performance is fine. Maybe with all the updates and me installing music production software it was just overwhelmed. So, I'm hoping its a good sign
Has anyone tried windows on ARM and have any thoughts about it?
I'm using windows on arm and love it, works just the same, if anything I think it is a little smoother than on x86 platform. One thing that is definitely better is chrome, chrome on windows on arm is far far better than x86 platform, no idea why but it is. Battery life on arm is also infinitely better.... I can't see myself moving off windows on arm tbh.... 👍 Using a Surface Pro 11 as my daily driver.
@johntankard thank you! I agree chrome is much better on ARM and Photoshop is pretty good to compared to x86. I think it will be the future definitely
