เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 9 พ.ค. 2019
Centennial Yards is a $5 billion mixed-use destination in the Southeast's biggest, most influential market. As one of the largest and most ambitious city-center developments in the country, Centennial Yards will transform 50 acres in Downtown Atlanta to connect surrounding communities and destinations, while creating several new city blocks. Designed by Foster + Partners and Perkins&Will, Centennial Yards offers 8 million square feet of world-class opportunities for dynamic retail, entertainment, commercial office, residential and hotel, as well as a vibrant public realm that will offer open spaces and outdoor gathering spaces to all Atlantans and visitors of Centennial Yards. Anchored by major Downtown sporting and entertainment attractions, including State Farm Arena and Mercedes-Benz Stadium, as well as several MARTA stations connecting the campus with the rest of the city, Centennial Yards will bring increased connectivity, walkability, and 24/7 living to the heart of the city.

Bringing Back the Buzz to Downtown Atlanta in 2022
มุมมอง 9K2 ปีที่แล้ว
So, what is all the buzz about Downtown Atlanta? This city has an incredible history, and Centennial Yards and Newport are restoring the heart of Downtown where it all began. We asked a mix of residents and business owners to share why they love Downtown and what they envision for the area in the coming years. Watch to find out what’s in the works for 2022 and beyond at your new favorite place ...
Sounds great. But like the Georgia Dome, the Mercedes Benz stadium has a "sell by date" when the Falcons will demand another tax payer funded stadium or they'll pick up and move. Is there anything in vibrant neighborhoods besides bars and restaurants? No art scene, music and such? It's always bars, bars bars and clubs. There has to be more than that. Are there local businesses that the residents in the community can use, like a small post office, grocery store, dry cleaners, personal services?
Atlanta has so much supertall skyscrapers in the North America & somewhere all around the world!🍑🍑🍑🍑🍑🍑🏙🏙🏙🏙🏙🏙🌎🌎🌎🌎🌎🌎
great to see this...
Love to see it! Thanks to you and your team for all your efforts thus far. Looking forward to seeing more.
Finally let's go!
So a real skyscraper won’t be built…. Just a few mid rise towers ??
We need more real skyscrapers
It's interesting to read some of the negative comments. Atlanta is making great strides with all the planned improvements. Be proud of your dynamic, fantastic city and get behind the efforts. If you can't do that, at least don't trash-talk it.
An absolute game changer for south downtown. This area will be unrecognizable in the next few years. Hopefully there’s a grocery store within all this new development.
I can’t wait for this to be built!
That part of Atlanta was the set for CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR (2016)
These square buildings are like boxes, so ugly. Why not build with steep roofs and dormers? Steep roofs and dormers are so more sofisticated, more classy and more beautiful. Those new buildings look like buildings here in my country, Brazil. You're changing from European style to Latin American style. DON'T.
Latin America did some amazing mid century architecture with concrete. There is historic precedence in Atlanta from the late 19th Century onwards with brick buildings with flat roofs. Atlanta for decades starting in the 1960's suffered the "Williamsburesq" style of architecture done badly and frankly happy to see that style pass into history.
If you have to convince people downtown is not dead because people think it's dead then it's dead
Gentrification complete ✅
It is literally a giant parking lot right now. Is that what you would rather have?
@@thumuslol exactly!
They making a Underground part 2? 😂 I mean I’m down it’s a cool idea. I think they could make it work this time. Atlanta’s the spot!!
just the render has trees 😆
This is only happening because of Maynard Jackson!! And the continuation of progressive black leaders in Atlanta/metro Atlanta
💯
I'd love to see The Gulch replaced with office/residential/retail/entertainment but I just don't see Atlanta focusing on development there (besides Nelson Street Bridge.) Even downtown is having vacancy problems as businesses move north to Midtown.
1. It’s primarily being done in preparation for the upcoming World Cup, so that visitors are greeted by a much livelier and aesthetically pleasing city. 2. It’s well located and can bolster the economy by bringing more jobs and new housing. Not saying it’s going to work, but 3. They wouldn’t be pouring all this money into this project if they weren’t confident that it would at the very least be sustainable (if not profitable) until and during the World Cup. Again, not saying it’s going to work out the way they’re intending for it to, but at least they’re doing it in a gulch and not further gentrifying another neighborhood
Cool
I read that older parts of Atlanta metro are losing population, the big growth is in Cherokee and Forsythe. The city of Atlanta actually has a lower population than Detroit and Atlanta has the same land area as Detroit. Not that I'd want to live in Detroit. I haven't been to either Detroit or Atlanta in 20 years.
If you want south downtown Atlanta to prosper crime and gang problems need to be dealt with especially at night.
I'm excited but cautious as I hope this area does not become whitewashed.
It's inevitable. Brewery, yoga studios, coffee shops, dog grooming spas, and etc. Every city is going through this. White washing is putting investments into what make sense to the "desirable consumer" which is white. For as black as Atlanta has been we've failed to have stake in the city. Hence why you say white washed. I hope they take some cues from Brickell City Centre in Miami and put some upscale nightlife and dining. The night of Atlanta is just not what it used to be and all the good spots are hood spots and I'm too old for that lol.
You mean it would be less crime?
Atlanta always been 50/50 white /black
@Doug, surely you didn't think they'd be throwing all this money into downtown if it wasn't going to be. just as long as there ain't no ignant a$$ N--- I'm looking forward to a diverse mix of people
@@Boxhead42 hate it or not but atl is becoming more so filled with minorities than white people
WOW! This is so exciting!
I'm excited to see this reinvigoration and reimagining of the Castlesberry section. Black coffee is an amazing coffee shop!!
Do they only sell their coffee black? Why would you want just black coffee?
@@willp.8120 you’re a buffoon
So exciting to see the work being done and the Nelson Street Bridge coming back!! ❤️❤️❤️
can't wait.
