I inherited a buttload of baseball cards when my father passed away. I have NO idea what they are worth and also feel overwhelmed. This year I hope to find out the worth and get them off my hands. I would LOVE if someone offered me a price to take them all off of my hands. Your story is awesome and thank you for sharing. Ha I also have a ton of copies of a book my father wrote about the Korean War. I have given so many away but still have a ton. I will also be trying to sell these as well. Again, thank you :)

good insight. it just solidifies for me, that I´m not going to be chasing cards via boxes or packs. I might enjoy opening one every now and then, but my collection should be singles. I don't wanna get into a hoarding situations with 1000s of cards I don´t want

Hi Ryan, I know this video is a year old now but I just came across it today, April 2023, and just wanted to say congrats, on everything, the sale of your collection, and on meeting the person that can help you get that beautiful message to so many children who need it. I think this was amazing. I'm going to get your book for my granddaughter, who was born with a large red mark on the side of her face, and she's only 3 now, but I know that later on, mean kids will make fun of her, and I want her to be prepared and to know that "Different is Awesome"!! Also, In the end you ask us to let you know if we have any questions, I have one, what's that guys info, I would love to sell my collection LOL, no but for real. Thanks for the vid😊👍

Good recap of your experience. I am pretty sure I saw you at the show. If you set up again in two weeks, I will stop by and say hi! Or, feel free to say hi to me. I am usually set up there as well, usually on the "mezzanine." I am glad you mentioned the part about people showing off what they bought. I always like seeing what people picked up. It is a big part of the fun.

I usually mark up 10% more than i want that way they think they get a deal 7:16

I'm glad you had a good time at the show. What you saw is typical card show behavior: lowball deals, people passing on good deals because they wants card lower, etc. Yes, definitely have your cards priced. I walked the show floor selling & made more deals just having everything priced out. You live & you learn. Stay focused on the good things that happened & get better from the lessons you learned.

I think that I would be fall into your shoes, where I am not secure enough to stick to the my guns, be prepared, and get kinda irritated by certain buyers. As a buyer, I don’t even have the gonads to tell a seller I would buy it for less than they say lol. But every time I go to a show, I think about being behind a table myself. For other factors other than selling. First and foremost gives me a reason to be there. But back to the point you said it’s been a year maybe that time off had you forgetting the there is a business aspect and everybody doesn’t want to pay sticker 😆.

I’ve been collecting since the early 70s. I’ve been winnowing down. Monster boxes full of stuff between (potentially) $20-$100 in penny sleeves. Sleeving and putting most stuff north of $100 in cases and larger monster boxes. Anything > $1K to the safety deposit box along w/ my largess when I was 12 and spent all my new clothes money on 1980 Topps basketball cards. Mom always understood. Tossing tons of commons not related to tough-to-complete sets. I’d like to grade all high-end stuff w/ an emerging competitor like TAG, but they won’t even get back to me re: their plans to eventually grade 70s-1999 stuff.

What do you do if you pack up all your shit you drive there you’re going to get a 6 foot folding table and you’re gonna put your stuff out on the table and people are going to walk by and hopefully they’ll buy some of it

1st👍 Maybe you should go retro, and pull some players from your youth. I enjoy cards even more when familiar with the players. If nothing sucked, how would you know what is cool. Beavis & Butthead. I take a break from cards Sunday night to catch the new episodes of Tulsa King, not bad.

Hi there. I collected throughout the late 80s into the 90s and just recently (last couple of years) got back into it. I never graded any of my cards and I totally am hesitant sending cards in not only because Im not sure what theyll grade but the whole sending cards through the mail that Im very attached to. I really enjoyed your video but I was hoping to get a better feel on which grading company is better, provides better customer support or you have a better general feeling with. You seem like a standup guy and also enjoyed your booth selling video. Anyway I do look forward to more videos and maybe a response. Thanks, Sal
