These dogs are athletic. If you leave the hair long it is daily brushing sometimes multiple times per day or the hair mats. These dogs get HOT with long hair. They love to run and play and long hair makes them miserable in the heat when they want to run around. If you've every had a sporting dog they love to get into things and smell. Long hair is also not conducive to pickers, briars, seeds and their hair is like velcro for that stuff when you brush it out.
He’s so good! My cavapoo growls when you even touch his paws, let alone the bottoms- and go anywhere near his behind area- nope. His groomer has been working on him since he was 4 months old- he’s only 14 months now- and still having issues! He was put on medication just to go to the groomers- gabapentin. He’s so tough! And tbh I hate the work my groomer does but I’m scared to bring him anywhere else bc of his quirks and needs. She knows him best. Any recommendations? How I can possibly change groomers or help him to overcome this? I’ve even tried desensitizing him at home. I got clippers and turn them on- he is brushed every night- nothing yet.
