NSKAD - Nijmegen Student Choir Alphons Diepenbrock

For over 80 years students in Nijmegen have been singing many classical works with great pleasure, in a choir that since 1974 bears the name Nijmeegs Studentenkoor Alphons Diepenbrock (NSKAD). On average NSKAD gives two large concerts each year, a capella or with orchestral accompaniment, repertoire including early as well as modern music. Besides musicality group bonding is paramount, as evidenced by our many committees and activities, and by the trips abroad we organise. All students studying in Nijmegen or elsewhere are more than welcome to join our choir!

Most think, it's about some religious thing. That's why e.g. this piece is performed in a religious environment, like a church. Well, to disappoint you or not, but this madrigal is about of very fleshy love, not to the Madonna but to a lady. "please, have me some mercy and quench out my fire ..." It's just some earthly lust... But very nice music!
Honestly, we just performed in a church because of the acoustics ;)
Clean. Balanced. Blended. Accurate intonation and good rhythm. Excellent performance. I would say that the dynamics could be a little more pronounced, especially during the long, sustained notes. However, a fantastic performance of this beautiful song. Kudos.
