Why Head loss is Important Tool in Water Distribution System Design
มุมมอง 710ปีที่แล้ว

    • @HydroinformaticsAcademy
      @HydroinformaticsAcademy 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      We use it because we want to estimate losses, or maybe it is simpler to use, but it is not a must to use Hazen Williams; depending on where you are living and what your project requires, you can even use Darcy Weisbach (which is hydraulically more accurate, of course).

    Hello Sir, i have 1 question.im going to lay the pipe to my development where i have to tap from water main pipe in which the pressure at the water main is 20mHead. So, am i going to assume a reservoir as my tapping point or junction inside my simulation? Cause i need to know the residual pressure in my development area..

    • @HydroinformaticsAcademy
      @HydroinformaticsAcademy 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      1. Because the dynamic pressure is known, i.e. 20mwc, then You can do two things: either you assume it is a junction or a tank with a minimum water level of 20m. I think the tank with the minimum water level of 20m will be the best idea because, when you design, the 20m will contribute directly to where you want to supply water (distribution side). IMO at the tapping point, assume it is a tank with minimum water level 20m and elevation at this tank should be the elevation at the tapping point. 2. The 2nd option is to take a portion that takes water to your tapping point. for example, if the source is the tank then in your model, make sure you are including the tank and a part of the pipe that takes water from the tank to where you want to tape your new network. 3. Apart from that, if you have time, you can get the whole network in EPAnet and then introduce your network. Essentially, with this approach, the benefit you will get is to know exactly how your new network will behave when connected to the existing network. Good luck.

    Hello, I have recently been learning to use CROPWAt and CLIMWat and I want to calculate the crop water requirement for my country at the provincial scale for 2010-2020 and I have a few questions to ask. Looking forward to your reply.🥰First, can I export 150 or so sites at once in CLIM? I learned that CROPWat can only select a pen or cli file for one site at a time, so how can I quickly figure out the water requirements for 150 sites for 10 years? Second question, how to check the corresponding year of pen and cli data of CLIM export site? The third question is, which criteria should I use when calculating effective rainfall? Fourthly, in about 14 minutes of the video, you mentioned that a variety of crops can be considered to calculate the water requirement of crops, but I don't quite understand it. Will the ETc calculated before be automatically updated when crop types are added? Fifth, for the soil type part, I just need to identify the crop types in my study area and choose from CROPWat? What I want to ask is, are the parameters of the same soil type uniform across countries?
