Flying over the Essex coast in a Diamond DA40 NG
Welcome to the channel. In this video, I take a Diamond DA40 NG over the east coast of Essex, and then up around some clouds over Suffolk. It was a warm and sunny day with great visibility, but with the expected turbulence at lower altitudes that this type of weather often brings. If you enjoy this type of content, please consider giving the video a like, and subscribe to the channel to see more.

Landing a Diamond DA40 NG at St. Mary's Airport, Isles of Scilly
มุมมอง 1.5K4 ปีที่แล้ว
First time landing at St. Mary's on a beautiful day in June 2018. I was flying with a pilot who had prior experience with this VFR approach over the cliffs. The flight over the isles to join the circuit provided some spectacular views prior to this landing. Wind was fairly calm for the approach.
Landing a Diamond DA40 NG with a crosswind
มุมมอง 12K7 ปีที่แล้ว
Approach and landing with a reasonably strong crosswind. The video picks up from late downwind, and shows base and final legs of the circuit. The crosswind component made for a short base leg, and a crabbed approach to land. The aircraft is a Diamond DA40 New Generation www.diamondaircraft.com/aircraft/da40-ng/
Cessna 172 poor weather landing at North Weald
มุมมอง 3248 ปีที่แล้ว
This is the last 10 minutes of a video taken during an IMC training lesson. The flight was conducted in clear skies, but upon returning to North Weald, the weather had taken a turn for the worse. Further confirmation that IMC training is worth the effort. You can see at the start of the video the extent of the bad weather, and upon entering it, visibility was quite poor as you'd expect. Landing...
Transiting Southend Class D controlled airspace
มุมมอง 3.7K9 ปีที่แล้ว
This is a short video showing a zone transit through Class D controlled airspace, centred around Southend Airport EGMC. This isn't provided as an example of textbook radio calls, but rather an example of how accommodating Southend Radar were when requesting a zone transit. This video shows a typically helpful service from Southend Radar to allow a transit via their overhead, tracking south from...
Flying circuits at North Weald EGSX in a Cessna 150 M - UK PPL Flight Training
มุมมอง 1.2K9 ปีที่แล้ว
A video showing 3 circuits at North Weald EGSX based in the South East of the UK. Three approaches were flown, starting with a standard approach, then a flapless approach and finally a power off glide approach to land.
Flying in Clouds - Kent, UK - Cessna 150 M
มุมมอง 62010 ปีที่แล้ว
A short video taken during some instrument flight training on the way to getting my UK private pilot license. The flight started off as a navigation exercise, and ended up with instrument flying when the weather deteriorated. Sadly, I couldn't enjoy most of these views on the flight due to wearing an IFR hood, so it was good to review the video afterwards to see what I'd been missing. The fligh...
North Weald (EGSX) to Damyns Hall (EGML) and single circuit - Cessna 150 M
มุมมอง 46410 ปีที่แล้ว
A short trip from North Weald (EGSX) to Damyns Hall (EGML), followed by a single circuit. The landings into Damyns Hall demonstrate an approach that avoids electricity pylons which run close to the perimeter of the airfield. Visibility was excellent on this morning in June.
Headcorn / Lashenden (EGKH) PPL Solo Circuits - Cessna 150 M
มุมมอง 71510 ปีที่แล้ว
An hour of solo circuits at Headcorn / Lashenden (EGKH) in a Cessna 150 M. These were part of my PPL training, and brought my solo flight time up to 2hrs. Another hour is needed to complete the solo circuits part of the syllabus. Great June weather with excellent visibility. One of the circuits involved an extended downwind to avoid inbound joining traffic.
Talks a bit fast
agree! I had to slow it down a bit
Smooth, nice.
Nice !
Nice video, which camera are you using?
Thanks for your comment. The video was filmed using a DJI Osmo Action. The radio comms were recording from my Zulu 2 headset using the Lightspeed Flightlink app on my iPad.
Please do DA 40NG Checklist video..starting from preflight to parking
Hi Samuel - Google the aircraft registration, book a slot, and then an Instructor will go through this with you and you'll get to fly the aircraft if you hold a SEP rating . . .
Nice one mate, would love to see more videos
Thanks for the comment. Stay tuned for another video soon....!
0:52 T/O lights :))
we need some HD :))
TH-cam takes a little while to make the HD version available, but it's coming...!
@@seukpilot4764 oh now its on,, tyyyyyyyy :))
:))
Ahhh fying through and surfing clouds, easily my most favourite part of aviation so far :-)
I wonder whether you could land on the pier? ;)
Very good video and thanks for the share
Thanks for the vid. How tall are you? Curious to know how well I'd fit in this aircraft, at 6ft4in, mostly in the legs!
I'm 6ft1in and have no problems. There's plenty of room between the top of my headset and the canopy. You should be fine. If you have long legs, the rudder pedals do have a lot of adjustment to accommodate, even though the seats are fixed.
Hi. I fly her too! PM me if you fancy meeting up.
:))
Hey, which flight school did you go with? Was it the North Weald Flight Training school? I ask because I am thinking of getting my PPL but not sure of flight schools - some are tricky with hidden costs etc - and its difficult to know if an instructor is good etc. Thanks for any help.
Yes, it was NWFT. I learnt before they became a 'proper' flight school though, and before they grew in size. Still recommended though. If you can give me some contact info, I can give you some further info and recommend the instructor that got me through my PPL.
Very helpful. Thanks
Good old aircraft
Good video, useful reference while training
Are BOLX and LY still at Lashenden? Oh and Dougie McRae(sp?) Thats what I flew years long past and he was my CFI
Robert Brumbelow Not sure about that I'm afraid. I just had a trip over there for some circuits, so I haven't really spent much time at the airfield. From my visit there, it does seem a nice place though - certainly somewhere I'd be keen to visit again.
+Robert “Kelly” Brumbelow, G-BOLY left Headcorn in 1997, and G-BOLX in 1995, many happy hours in this aircraft. G-BOLX became G-ELOX.
Nice video! Liked and subscribed! Please do the same to me if you like my videos :)
