Oh honey, I'm 2nd. generation American, grandparents off the boat from Sicily, I was blaessed to never see skin color as something to loathe...I look African in some of my features, and I love it and always have..we are all special and beautiful, I myself have always wanted to go to Italy for the beauty, food and vino...like anywhere else, just need to watch ur back...sad but true , I guess anywhere you go😢

Most resources just destroy all Italy. Milan is now completely disintegrated with so many drug dealer everywhere from nigeria every where you go now in Italy there are so many African drug dealer. As a Black American living in Italy, I see their racism every single day. The other day, I went to a posh supermarket, filled my kart, and before I could get to the check out, they had called in the head of security, two police officers, and had the entire store on alert. When I had the money to pay for my 170 euros of items, I could see the mixture of disbelief and disappointment in their faces. Their racism is palpable. Even though I''ve seen whites from East Europe get caught stealing on several occasions, they still watch Black people closely in their stores. I have an active disdain for these people.

i can say that italians at very racist. Of course they are much influenced by their government but I think they are not very openminded, infact they are one of the countries where people read less. Furthermore a lot of them have a strongly antisemitic and antiamerican attitude.

Italian have the idea of roots and Heritage and blond line . In italy you are first from your street, and from your city, and after from your city and after that from Italy. If you are living in Rome, you are born in Rome but your parents are from the south of Italy, or north or anywhere else you will never be considered as Roman because your family is not from Rome. It is not racism, because they treat strangers from other country, like Romania or else as strangers. This their culture

Northern Italy has historically been racist. Many are even racist against southern Italians and Sicilians, because of their darker skin.

As a half Italian myself. The fact that Italians having the image of being pushed as racists or against the black community. Italians when they came over to America worked with black Americans and other people of color and were most targeted individuals for lynchings. Italians are latin, not White. Italians were known as blacker than the American negro were treated like trash. Don't let white Americans turn on the people that helped you the most. Unfortunately after all the lynchings due to a cops death Italians built the mob for protection and were forced to identify as White for their own protection which forced the most Italians to turn on black Americans. I can't speak for All Italians but I luv my black Americans you people Carry the most influence. Don't turn on each other and let the white American destroy what you've worked so hard to accomplish. I heard south Italians were regarded as non-white .

The same for me as a White man. The blacks in Jamaica and South Africa were angry, aggressive, and surly. Their eyes cant hide their disdain and hatred. I refuse to spend money in those $#@& holes. I can see racist blacks here in the USA, why pay and travel to be among them. Now when the ship stops in Jamaica, no thank you. I stay on the boat. Not giving them my hard earned money. Whites need to stay away from these countries

I am a Sicilian woman married to a black man. I am very sorry if you feel that Italians have a deep rooted racism toward blacks. I do know that upper Italy sometimes looks down on people from the southern Italy. But people all over the world look down on each other. It’s a shame. All we can do is just keep trying to get along. Because we even know that certain blacks look down on other blacks. Some people think you’re a skin color is too dark. Some people think it’s too light. We’re all a mess as a human race, but we have to keep trying.

They hate us too in USA my advice is to always live your life the way you want to. Racism will always be.

I think it depends where you go, south of Italy is used to mixed people from centuries compared to the north, and you'd feel comfortable in those regions, you can see mixed couples too, while the north is known to be racist even to southern italians (despite even here it depends, i have friends from the north and they don't give a shit where you're from). I'm a southern Italian myself and I dated a black woman once; just once because most of the black women don't want to date white men 😅
