    I saw the Bettencourt website for the 32" pots but where can you get the square/rectangular pots that Bob Franko talked about towards the end ?

    • @FishingBirthdays
      @FishingBirthdays 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Most local tackle shops carry the square traps...

      Ok, thanks. I didn't realize those were just the "Danielson" type pots. They look a little beefier on the video for some reason. And thank you for having the inspiration to make your series of fantastic videos about San Francisco Bay Area fishing. They're fun to watch and extremely informative.

    Where's a good spot in half moon bay to drop some pots. I've never crabbed in half moon bay before and you seem to be a pro out there. I would appreciate any advice from you. Thanks...!

  • @FishingBirthdays

    Dungeness crab season opens in early November and rockfish is currently open, but closes at the end of December. Within that Nov. and Dec. time frame you can crab and rockfish at the same time.

    So ive got a question, can sports anglers go crabbing and rockfishing at the same time? I had brought a trap along with my rods but i left it behind because i was unsure of the regulations.

    Using 1-pound weights. Don't know what they cost maybe $2. Sometimes we tie them on, but better chance of getting the fish in without the weight.

    Droppin all the lead would get expensive. A pound and a half lead ball is probly around eight bucks a piece.

  • @FishingBirthdays
    @FishingBirthdays 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    Don't know long-term effects of dropping lead weights in bay or ocean for that matter. Probably not enough of them dropping in the bay to have a negative impact.

    The rod is an old solid glass Harrington. Really the same blank as a Harnell.

    The bay shoreline is generally very shallow once you get south of Oyster Point. So, most shore fishing should be done around a high tide. Coyote Point and the shoreline south of SFO can produce sharks, rays and occasional striped bass. Oyster Point can be decent for the same species and occasional halibut. There's a lot of shore access along bay trail from Oyster Point to the San Mateo Bridge. Check with Oyster Point Bait and Hi's Tackle Box for more specifics.
