At the end of the video the green house on the corner of Lynnwood and Glenwood was my Grandparents house Joe and Deloris Herber 130 Lynnwood AVE.
A lot of memories from 1950-1970..In the early 70's they paved over main street downtown, Morrell's shut down, John Deere cutback..and the town died a slow death..Thanks to the town crooked council..
Paved over main street??? I don't remember it ever being not paved and I was born in 42.
Fun fact (for those who are not from Ottumwa): There was a murder on the front steps of the high school.
I thought it in near where they teach how to fix cars.

@@arizonanic yeah in my health class we had to talk about mental health and the shooting was brought up and one of the girls in my class said that the girl who was killed was her moms bestfriend

arizonanic I'm from Phoenix, AZ. Moving to Fairfield for a job transfer. Now I'm scared.
It's not all bad but it's a small town. Travel to Iowa City or Des Moines for the fun stuff.
This is also six years old, but I would still check out the town before you move. If you are from Phoenix it will be culture shock. Ottumwa is only like 30,000 You aren't transferring for a telemarketer thing are you?
arizonanic no, my husband is taking a job with Morton Buildings . Originally from Phx. Living in Central IL. Already had culture shock lol
