Yeah my dude, that first day we didn't even have Xeno Scanners, so we couldn't see their shield health, nor could we see their hearts. Was still fun though, of course

it was quite fun back then because not much was known annd they were still a mystery... not its an all out war :D

TBH I find BF2042's maps too small for the 128 player games.. they need some bigger maps

tbh it is the double boop ye get with FDLs, if you ram the nose you can get a second ram on the roof, which gives double boop damage I had it done to my own fully engineered FDL once, I think by Maztek, but could have been someone else.. and I probably got caught with low pips in shields.. but still, it is a good way of hurting an FDL

This videao was recorded before Xeno Scanners were added. This is the first day Thargoids began attacking CMDRs In lore terms, this is before mankind had developed AX weaponry

This was in the legacy-era.. double shots FTW :D I must add, that I too have died in an FDL (bi-weave) from one ram (that counted as a double ram due to the lump on the top of the ship)

Yep this is true, but this clip is from before the game had AX weapons, nor did we have an AX scanner.. hence why it has so many views, it was the first day we got to shoot at a Thargoid

I'm ramming because that is the 5th hardpoint of a FAS, my hull is my ammo, He isn't letting me get free hits, he is in a much slower ship that is too large for him to handle

@@cmdrnervousenergy5133 because both Vettes (there are two kills in the video) were oblivious of any threat, as they felt invincible in their big stupid ship... oh, and they were both n00bs with fast credits and little engineering or knowledge about the game ....hence the video title

Not really true, since even if a vette was unable to beat a FAS (which it is able to do), then a good pilot will have known to wake before their shields dropped. The second guy had 5 or 6 banks, but failed to use them, and then also failed to wake before his shields dropped, leaving his weak arse hull. So inexperienced pilots should learn how to fly before using one of the "big three"

@@BrapMan I never denied that. Yes, the pilot here really dropped the ball. Probably would've ended the same way even if they were in any other ship. I was more pointing out that the Big Three are just bad choices for PvP due to their lack of maneuverability.

@@julbot1 but where they lack in maneuverability they gain in shield strength and DPS, and you often get very competent PvPers choosing to run one large ship within their wing. So what I am saying is you are wrong. The issue here was not the ship not being up to the job, it was the pilots learning bad habits due to thinking their ship is not able to be beaten.

@@BrapMan I already agreed that the Pilot mishandled their ship. What I'm saying is that larger ships are at a major disadvantage in 1v1s due to their slowness. But they do shine in Wing groups as you said because the target now has to divide their attention between multiple targets. Giving the large ship a much easier time since the enemy also has to dodge their friends.
