hey bud i mean, you’ll see that after i made the video, ive done some repaints and they do look pretty good. but my initial reaction was how i felt about it. just needed some paint. and the pricing im referring to is when i bought the neca in 2008/2009 from a comic shop, long before playmates let their licensing go out. I mean i feel for the folks that cant get the mirage turtles and hope they rerelease them at some point.

@@TheShellf I'm not interested in watching any more of your videos I've been collecting since 2012 and it simple isn't true that NECA has ever sold anything for $20. The only reason to make a statement as inaccurate as that is because you are more interested in your own agenda then to do the actual research into the finances.

I LOVE THE NECA MIRAGE TURTLES… Those are still the best

@@TheShellf Agreed. I’m not a collector or anything, just a huge fan of the turtles and I was able to grab em from the store I worked at when they originally released. I also have all 4 Playmates Secret of the Ooze turtles and they’ve worked just fine as my de facto posers. Close enough and super cheap. My sister recently got me the NECA Muckman and ordered me the Mondo Gecko. Holy crap, this line is giving me an existential crisis. I’ve never been so drawn to collect a line of action figures but there’s just so many hurdles in the way of getting these things. I hold 0 hope of ever getting my hands on the actual turtles. I’m gonna pick up anything in this line I see going forward.

awesome… just keep at it! i love the neca line as well because there is such a good variety of characters! i feel as if neca will keep releasing variants.. so i hope you can snag at least the core turtles! also the secret of the ooze figures are actually the high point of that classic collection line! keep living the dream!

@@TheShellf Thanks man! Mondo actually came yesterday. He feels WAY different than Muckman in the hand. Much softer. Still great though. Really cool to actually see the scale difference between the figures. I remember being a kid and they were all the same height😹 Poor lil 90s Chromedome. Lol. My local target has the 10 inch Chromedome. May grab him later today. I’m pretty confident they’ll find a way to rerelease the core turtles again at some point. It seems like they’ve already released em a few times with variants, pack ins and that disguise set. There’s always gonna be a market for the 4 turtles. Hope to see you cover more of this line!

EXACTLY... i would've gotten teh black and white exclusive versions of these but yeah.. price piont wise not worth. If they just redid some of the proportions I think I would've bought these day one.

Thanks for watching! Good question.... these are the two packs that came out with alternate repaints of the turtles using a much brighter green. I snagged them at EBGames (aka Gamestop) a few years ago. Leonardo & Donatello were together, and Raphael and Mikey was the other pack. I guess they use more of the stock "approved" art colors.... which I kinda like.

@@TheShellf Cool man! I kinda have a hard time sorting out which of the cartoon things I gonna get versus the Super 7. I dont have money for all. So I think with Super 7 I only gonna aim for my favorites. I hear they have started with version 2s of things as well, I am not sure what I think about that mate. Most want 1st versions.

@@grandiosa86 Yeah man! thats a tough decision, because these are pretty pricey. I'd say if you're going for Super7, from what I heard the main differences between the 1st versions and 2nd versions are... the weapons racks/accessories? Can't confirm as I don't have 2nd versions to look at, but I mean the figures might have small fixes or improvements but likely negligible. I will say I am loving the Super7 versions a lot. The head sculpts are what won me over.

@@TheShellf Yeah, that might be. A friend just said that as well, the minor weapon differences. I know I do like to get my two fav turtles in Super 7 mold, and then Michelangelo will be hard to find in something other than 2nd version. Yeah, thanks to their headsculpts I also like them a lot.

cool man, i appreciate that. Some customizing could make these look nicer, my gripes are that playmates is lazy and could have made these releases better (longer belts, longer bandanas, shading) with these same proportions.
