    How do sanctions affect the Russian economy? Company funds in Russian banks in August 2023 increased by 1.8 trillion rubles, or 3.7%, and household funds increased by 0.3 trillion rubles, or 0.8%. Salaries of residents of the Russian Federation in real terms increased by 10.5% in July. In August, as Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin reported, the Russian budget surplus reached 230 billion rubles. The growth in oil and gas revenues helped a lot. At the end of the last summer month, they exceeded 1.8 trillion rubles - this is 56.5% more than last year. According to Bloomberg estimates, the real figure is twice as high: about $450 billion. Non-oil and gas revenues (NOGD) increased in the first eight months of the year by 24.2% - to 12.155 trillion rubles. And over the last month, they rose to a record 57.5% year-on-year and reached 1.82 trillion rubles. Total revenues in August amounted to 2.5 trillion rubles, 74% of which came from the NNGD. The indicator is quite high for a commodity economy; for comparison: in 2022 it was less than 60%. The lion's share is formed by value added tax; another ten percent comes from income tax!

    • @dimiyar
      @dimiyar ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for your perspective Dave. I agree with you in that companies and managers need to be able and willing to let people go when they become a "problem". The issue with most of the layoffs for example, is that companies are simply cutting a % of the workforce, and saying it is market or company-related, not employee performance-related, and that breaks the bonds of trust (even as we know in reality initial layoffs often include poor performers, and companies seem to prefer the layoff route rather than "firing for cause" or "due to poor performance" to avoid stigmatization of the employees, and in that sense calling it a layoff is ok, but the issue still is whether the company has the right measurement tools to properly evaluate the performance of its employees, and I am suggesting that they dont. And laying off good employees is extremely damaging to the company in the end. On the other hand, new people do not always bring new ideas or fresh perspectives, and always require quite a bit of training/learning and carry a higher risk of leaving than long-term employees. I would say that this is a bit of a tradeoff, but in most cases, the value is much greater for the companies on the side of experience and knowledge, which will bring up a lot of ideas that may be much more relevant, if properly motivated. Companies would be better off relying on "graduate" or entry-level or strategic hiring, not replacement hiring for new ideas and fresh perspectives. At VOSA our philosophy is such that a) companies should always retain and motivate good employees, and that is probably 80-90% of all employees; with a consistent ~70% rate of employee disengagement in US, clearly, motivation is an issue, and simply letting go of people is not an option on scale - can not fire 70% of your employees when replacements are likely to be even less engaged and motivated b) companies should always let go of "problem" employees at any level to avoid spread of toxicity and shod be willing to identify them and act c) companies need to move beyond rewarding just skills and performance (especially given how subjective "performance" is) and recognize and reward the critical human elements companies are looking for - character, culture fit, company-specific knowledge. We suggest this latter part is done with VOSA (Value of Service Award), where we argue that these intangible qualities are proven and appreciate in value over time for the employer, hence, "length of service" is used as the basis for VOSA. By the way, if you are interested, I wrote an article on Layoffs, posing a 1-question test whether they should be done or not, and if not, then providing 4 alternatives: www.linkedin.com/pulse/considering-mass-layoff-consider-4-alternatives-after-dimi-yar

    We've heard this topical, third-grader lecture dozens of times already. No one knows what an argument is. It's like listening to "Oracular Kagan" in a different voice every time. Would be more informative to listen to a panel of grade-school Ukrainians. They'd be honest, because they don't any better, and don't know they're supposed to be "consensus building," by repeating MSM.

    Both me and a coworker used ArtemiC Rescue when we had COVID-19, we were both well again within 3 days. And recently someone in the house tested positive. I immediately started using the ArtemiC Support covid defense serum and I never developed any symptoms despite having somebody who was tested positive in the house. Of key importance is of course having the ArtemiC bottle ready in your refrigerator and being able to use it immediately.

Don’t act or look tired. Get rid of your AOL e-mail account. Maintain your skills. I’m over 70. Since age 60, I’ve been hired twice as a COO and three times as a CFO.
