the harmonics were very bad in the 2nd or 3rd variation, later the springing arpeggiato with the ricochet was messy as f, not the best
BTW, one of the variation is entirely missing... perhaps, it's just a kind of encore 🙂
A rare feat, to have your musicality outshine Paganini. By far my favourite interpretation

I know the first part of the trills (3 variation) is not the same as the sheet but it is awesome and beautiful to hear

Karajan, Karajan, Karajan, forever...
FPZ is musically great and also almost the best overall rendition. Still technically he is nowhere near Roman Kim. What Roman is playing, at tempo he's playing and clarity with which he's playing is simply incomparable to this rendition.
If you want high tempo+clarity check out Kavakos playing this piece

I ordered Crossley;s complete solo Ravel piano music recordings back in about 1983 from my local record shop. Paid a fortune for it considering i was a student in those days. Disappointing and unconvincing. The same for this video.
