And it’s such an expensive exam and if u fail u pay again…that’s wrong
Me watching this in January
LLM is the best for non background law students...... SQE prep is for people who have an undergraduate or who has a good understanding already.
Can you not do the LPC? Also is SQE or LPC more tough?
Hi Amy, the LPC can only be taken if you meet the criteria, you can read them here to see if you can still take it: www.sra.org.uk/become-solicitor/legal-practice-course-route/becoming-solicitor-legal-practice-course-transitional-requirements/

I want to know What is the difference between you and other universities regarding the certificate? Having in mind that you are a school not a university? Will it be the same and recognized by law firms in the terms of its quality and employment opportunities?
Hi Salah, Thanks for your query. Just to reassure you, we are a fully registered Higher Education provider and have been awarded Degree Awarding Powers from the Office for Students. So all our modules and programmes are accredited and you will receive credits or qualifications from The College of Legal Practcie. In terms of firms, we are confident that our courses are well received by the legal sector. We have many partners already who choose to partner with us to support their trainees through the SQE, and you can see them all on our website. Some of our most well known clients are Reed Smith, Browne Jacobson, Clarke Willmott, PWC and Marks & Spencer. I hope that helps, happy to answer any other questions here or you can email us at info@collegalpractice.com. thanks Alice & College team
Can a Bar member lawyer from the USA sign off as a compliance officer for the QWE for International Students?
Hi. I'm sorry that we haven't replied to you sooner. So the key for someone to be able to confirm your QWE is that they are regulated by the Solicitors Regulation Authority as either a solicitor or compliance officer. If this bar member lawyer is only regulated in the USA, then they are unable to confirm your QWE. In this situation other candidates have had to look for someone that they know in their network who meets this requirement and then they provide them with their work experience details and how they meet the solicitors competencies, and sometimes put them in touch with your immediate supervisor. In terms of reassuring someone who you ask to confirm your QWE, the key is that they don't need to confirm the quality of your work, just that you have completed the work that meets 2 or more of the competencies. There are some helpful pages on the SRA's website that you can share with someone about their role and understanding QWE - it is very different to the responsibilities as a LPC training contract provider. This is a common issue that international students are experiencing, so good luck in finding someone who can help you with this. Thanks very much for getting in touch, and feel free to contact us if you have any more questions, With best wishes Alice & College team
@@collegalpract thank you very much for that explanation. I will follow your advice

I came in thinking this was a comedy skit where you’d be thinking of legal defenses for horrible things your clients do 😅
Sorry to disappoint!
I really have no idea how I ended up here, but thank you for making me consider being a solicitor in case I need a career change!
Happy to help!

(URGENT) for the examinations for SQE 2, what are the formats? I have been reaching out to many sources, for SQE 2, the oral parts can I use laptop? is the written part pen and paper or by computer typing?
Hi Howard, thanks a lot for your message. In SQE2, there are two formats to the assessments, these being Written and Oral. There are four oral exams and twelve written in total. You'll find that the oral exams will include tasks such as interviews, questioning and case-making. They may include use of a laptop, but assessment will be based on ability to deliver the oral skills as well as application of knowledge. Each of the written assessments can vary from both hand-written and electronically written assessments. You can find more about the SQE2 assessments in detail here: sqe.sra.org.uk/exam-arrangements/assessment-information/sqe2-assessment-specification#assessments The SRA support individuals with those who may require use of a laptop or other reasonable adjustments, you can find these here: sqe.sra.org.uk/registering-and-booking/reasonable-adjustments We hope you find the above useful!
is lpc route still open ?
Hi Samar, This is the SRA's terms regarding studying the LPC - Someone already studying or training can continue to qualify through the LPC route, or choose to do the SQE. These arrangements apply to anyone who, before 1 September 2021, had completed, started, accepted an offer of a place or paid a non-refundable deposit for one of the following: the Common Professional Examination / Graduate Diploma in Law (CPE), the Legal Practice Course or a period of recognised training (also known as a training contract). In the case of a qualifying law degree (QLD) and exempting law degree (ELD), these arrangements apply to anyone who completes, starts, accepts an offer of a place or pays a non-refundable deposit by 21 September 2021 (inclusive). In most cases, for the QLD, ELD and CPE, the relevant course must start at the latest on or before 31 December 2021. Anyone who falls within this group will have until 31 December 2032 to qualify as a solicitor under the LPC route, as long as courses still remain available.
Kindly, publish sample materials videos of how the course will be done online
Yes, we would like to share this with you and other prospective students in the next couple of months.
