@@NewCallsign I feel your pain. It's a tricky jet. I'm very rusty in it and I'm going to struggle at times for sure. After this, the Su-27 is going to be a piece of cake.
Are you excited for the FF MIG29-A and the F35
@@JayeshAGM I have mixed feelings on both. I'm very glad to see an FF MiG-29 but likely won't play it. For FF, I mostly fly American stuff, but I want DCS to have a full range of Russian stuff that sells well also. For the F-35, I'm very skeptical that it can be anything close to realistic or fully-featured. Depending on what's included and the single and multi-player content for it, I may play it. I just see a lot of potential for it to be the most boring module to play if used as it was designed to be used in real life.
Fuel allowing, I'd have been tempted to go get the A50 if it was out over the ocean! Been watching your videos since I picked up DCS about a month ago - watched your SU-25T Cyclone campaign and nearly completed it myself now, has been a great help when I've been stuck.
I don't blame you for being tempted by the A-50, but it's pretty far away and has a fighter escort. Kudos to you if you can get out there, take it down, and make it home with fuel to spare.
Hey ! Was wondering, what do you use yo move your head like this ? Looks very nice
@@mathieub5823 TrackIR
@funky-sim oh I see, the official one or an other cheaper ?
@@mathieub5823 official TrackIR camera and software but I use the RJSimTech IRTrackStar headset attachment. I can't recommend RJSimTech enough. It's a great product and the owner is awesome to work with. If I were buying again, I'd be tempted to try OpenTrack with one of the cheaper cameras that are probably just as good or better. But I'd still go with RJSimTech for the headset LED attachment.
@funky-sim ok thanks for answering ! I don't have enough money for that but one day maybe. I'm looking for DIY head tracker actually haha
@mathieub5823 there are a few options but I don't have any experience with any of them. Good luck! Having some form of head tracking is a game changer for sure.
I don't know if you remember me commenting 6-8 months ago. But I really liked DCS; I got a stick and throttle since then. I just wanted to say thanks for inspiring me to play it.
Glad to hear it wasn't too advanced for you after all. Welcome to the community!
Get FA18C module its more fun
@@Gamingglorychallenges I have it and play it quite a bit when I'm not recording, but these videos are for a different target audience.
Non aviator here, what is the safety reason for requiring the pilot to request startup? I'm assuming it's a safety thing but can't think of what the danger would be if the pilot started up the aircraft.
@@SilverSabre non-aviator here as well. I don't know the answer, but from a safety perspective, jet engines and spinning props are dangerous things to be around, so maybe some airfield controller needs to know when aircraft engines are running to coordinate other airfield activities. In DCS, I just do it to prepare to request taxi later on, and even that is only to get the active runway. To save a few seconds, I generally already have an engine starting up when I make the request.
i wish i could play 😢. good vid ❤
@@londonk334 what's stopping you?
How do you even see the enemy on this map? Everything is as grey as it gets. I can only make a high pass, confirm enemy location then make another pass but by then of course they have moved on and their new pos is different. Any suggestions?
Not gonna lie. It's difficult, probably the hardest mission in the campaign just because of visibility. It's really important to know where you are at all times, because if you're disoriented you'll be in no position to attack the bad guys if you happen to see them. So study the map really well and plan your ingress and egress routes around the target at waypoint 3. You don't really have time to fly high passes to spot the bad guy locations and then come back around. You need to be prepared to dive in and bombard them as soon as you see them, which means you need to be pointed in roughly the right direction at reasonable speed and altitude. In the mission editor it seems like they are set to not disperse under fire, so I would think they would keep rolling after getting hit. But in my playthroughs they seem to always stop and disperse when I hit them. So it's helpful to hit them at the bend at waypoint 3, because if you wait until after that then they start getting into the parts of the road with trees on both sides and that's not going to help things. Also, if you can, target the APCs at the front and middle of the convoy because those are the only threat to your friendlies. Other than that, it's just repetition until it gets easier, along with a little luck.
Really nice to watch! I'll continue the series.
Glad you enjoyed it! It's a great campaign. Not super difficult but some cool story along the way.
@@funky-sim I'm a newbie to DCS, so it comes in handy. Greetings from Argentina my friend and happy 2025!

How do you set up DCS fc3 on steam I have the f15c pack and I downloaded it but I only see a tactical map everytime I go into instant action and I can’t take control of the aircraft
I'm on the standalone version and haven't used Steam for DCS in years, but it should be more or less the same. Assuming you have the Flaming Cliffs or F-15C DLC installed correctly, then from the main menu in DCS: 1. Click "Instant Action" 2. Select "F-15C" on the left 3. Select "Caucasus" on the right 4. Select "1 vs 1 Guns Only" in the middle 5. Wait for the mission to load 6. You should see the cockpit and a briefing overlay 7. Click "Fly" Is there some part of that that you are not seeing when you try this?

Hello, why don't you make videos with other modules?
@@Arda0zkan I have lots of videos for the Su-25T, Su-25A, and A-10A. There's a bit more to cover in the F-15C and then I'll be on to something else.
@@funky-sim Not in that sense, you also have FullFidelity modules, why don't you shoot videos with them?
@@Arda0zkan gotcha. There are a bunch of reasons I'm just doing Flaming Cliffs for now. Least importantly, because there's already tons of other great videos for the full fidelity modules. There's not as much for the Flaming Cliffs stuff in the style I wanted to see as a beginner (for example, all 100 missions of the Su-25T Georgian Oil War campaign with no labels, loadout changes, or F10 map checks). But really it has more to do with the reason I make videos at all. Ultimately I want more people to play DCS because they'll bring the money that pays for development of more aircraft, maps, campaigns, and core improvements. I started DCS in the Flaming Cliffs modules and lots of new players still do. But a lot of new players also get frustrated by confusion, lack of content, or difficulty. So I'm trying to build up a library of videos that act as reference material to help newbies see the content that is available, what it's like to play that content in its entirety (no edits or time acceleration), and an approach to it that worked at least once for me. Hopefully it gives a few people a nudge forward when they're frustrated and prevents them from quitting DCS altogether. If I somehow manage to inspire a couple people to try DCS for the first time, that's a huge bonus. If I get through all the Flaming Cliffs stuff, then there's a good chance I stop making videos at that point. The high-profile creators have that covered very well and I'm a big fan of many of them.
@@funky-sim I understand, I think I should thank you for this, it is a really useful goal to at least gather a few people with this idea and expand the dcs community. Your videos are great, at least I think it would be impressive to see you on planes like F-16 / F-14 / F-18 thank you for your time.

Hi there, i only have the gory gori and pushback mission. In my a10a menu do i need the other maps in order to play the other missions? Best regards!
@@mauriceo1537 yes you need the other maps to play the missions that are on those maps. I don't know for sure, but if you do the 14-day trial for a map, you can probably play the missions while you have access to the map.
@@funky-sim Alright thank you for the Fast answer. Do the maps include missions for every aircraft? That would be insane.
@mauriceo1537 unfortunately no. It helps to think about it the other way around. The maps don't come with missions for the aircraft. The aircraft come with missions for the maps. Neglected or unpopular aircraft can be lacking missions for some maps. There isn't a lot for the A-10A at all, while some other aircraft have missions for pretty much every map. There are some great multiplayer servers with A-10A slots though.
@@funky-sim great, awesome! Can you recommend a server? I have learned the a10a quite alot now and I only have 2 missions because of the map.
@@mauriceo1537 For multiplayer in the A-10A on the Caucasus map, the Heat Blur cold war server, Hoggit Georgia At War, Contention, ShadowReapers, Blue Flag ... there's lots. For more single player stuff, also check the "Instant Action" menu for one more A-10A Caucasus mission. And make sure you do the campaign for the A-10A as well. If you don't fail, that'll be 10 stages long but there's 2 mission options for 9 of those stages, so there's 19 missions in there total. You can play them separately from the campaign if you want to. I have videos on all of those. Also don't be afraid to modify missions for other aircraft to swap in the A-10A. Many missions for the Su-25A and Su-25T can be played just fine using an A-10A instead.
hey bro, big fan, i really think you should do smaller format videos, 10min like other famous tubers
I appreciate you, but honestly I don't want to be famous and am not trying to make this a big channel. Long-form coverage of all this entry-level content is something I wanted to see but couldn't find when I started playing DCS. This stuff is intended to serve more as reference material than as entertainment. It may help people figure out whether they want to play some specific content, or give them an approach that worked at least once for me in case they are struggling with something. I know this sort of thing appeals to a small number of people, but if it helps a few people figure something out, then it's mission accomplished in my eyes.
Funky.... I luv's the Flaming Cliffs stuff. TWS is awsome. Thumbs up video 7
Is this FC 4?
@@c.castro4630 no. The jet is the F-15C module for DCS World, though you can get it bundled with a bunch of other jets in the Flaming Cliffs 2024 package. I got it as part of the FC3 package, but with the coming of FC2024 I don't think you can buy FC3 anymore. The mission is just a user-created mission posted on the DCS User Files page.

@@MartinShorlek Eagle Dynamics has Discord and forums but I doubt we're going to see a big update on this old map anytime soon. Good luck to you though!
Great as always!
Night Missions without NVG are annoying. I went into the mission files and changed this mission to early morning hours. I know. I know. I did it anyway.
@@CT-m3u that's illegal! I kinda enjoy the challenge occasionally. I'm always amazed at how quickly I can get disoriented even in the sim. To each their own though.

Thank you for posting this! Just found your channel and subscribed. I feel like, in the culture of the DCS community, no one wants to admit to playing (or liking) FC content… so there's very little of it to be found on TH-cam. But some of us parents have such little time to play… and these modules, missions, and campaigns are a fantastic way to play and brings back fond memories of LO:MAC (DCS' predecessor) and the old NovaLogic sims. 🥰
Agreed 100%. There's a weird stigma about FC but I think it's a great place to start, a great place to pick up after a long break, and a great way to get the kids introduced to the DCS ecosystem. I may eventually move on to some study-level modules but for now I"ve got no shame in pushing out the sort of FC content I wanted to see but couldn't find when I started playing DCS.
I've flown this campaign not long ago. It is one of the best there is
Agreed. I love Baltic Dragon's stuff.
Wingman coming over your right shoulder was unexpected😂
