So our hero is sacrificing his hearing and his lungs to make money for someone else. Competitions should model best practices. I cut and broke concrete for over 25 years. I wore earplugs and earmuffs over them. I wore a respirator. And safety glasses. And steel-toed boots. And gloves. And a hard hat. And I was very good at it. This guy is very good. I’m retired now and can still enjoy music. And I do not have a bad back. My lungs are fine. I wish I’d taken care of my teeth this well.
Out teacher showed us this video in class, he has over 20 yars experience and told us that's how a man use jack lef, except for the end when he almost get the steel in the face. Good job!
wow....I guess when you run a jack-leg all day every day, it is easy to criticize this guy. I would love to try one of these competitions. I definitely wouldn't almost eat my steel when I pull it out of the chuck. Up in Red Lake there is a lot of old school mining, our mine is 75 years and still running strong. Straight eight and any real miners will agree, four foot is for guys who cant really drill.
this guy was my minning partner and putting the jackleg down was one of the rules to the competition, in real he puts the 8 footers in an other hole ready to drill the 8 foot after he's done drilling is 4 footer , ho by the way he won this competition!
im a green horn from canada and i know better then to put jack down some guys just work hard and dont know any other way miners in canada average age is above 55!!! and up!! and as for putting it on the ground since when in real life do u only drill 1 hole? and as for the dont teach in canada, every mine is its own mine in canada except ontario they have some standards and schools. so i hear
