This a quick view of a combination in studio and location session of a senior portrait. I had a chance to set up my outside studio that is a simple set up and offers some beautiful lighting.

They Will Not Call You

I recently had an issue with some low life shits getting into our bank account. It gave me a little inspiration to make this video. If you can share maybe just one person out there will get the message and not get ripped off. This image kept running around in my head over the last few days so I had to go ahead and make this. Be safe out there.

Setting up a background for a studio look and working the location for a more casual look. Using three lights and one light. A quick look Behind the Camera of a commercial business portrait. It is always important to get there early and set up before your subject arrives and be ready to start.
A Day a The Beach

I came across this older video when we had all the kids in Mount Pleasant South Carolina for the summer for a week.. Seems like only yesterday. They are now 13 and 12 years old. I had just gotten a new Go Pro so I was playing around and created this video. It's an awesome camera for getting places you don't want to take a camera or your phone.
Bill Goode Photography Studio

This was a video created when we moved for our new location. We attached the studio to the house by closing in our carport. We moved from a 3,000 sq ft space to the house. It has worked well for us. We now operate by appointment only. Part of our garage is remodeled as well so we have a place to do framing and put orders together.The garage is a place we can make a mess and keep the studio area...
Business Portraits on Location

Doing business portraits on location when not working with a background I want to set each person in their own area. On a website this would give a nice look. I was working with two lights, one as a main and one as an accent or back light. Photographing four different subject in a small area didn't take very long. Sometimes you have to work around people while they are doing business. For more ...

      Hi sorry I just saw your comment. It is a mono pod I think I got it from B&H photo years ago. If you are doing studio work it is the real deal. Rolls very easy and has a place to attach stuff if need. They make a number of different types you want to look for a rolling mono pod. Thanks,

    I have a question. I’m learning photography and I’m told to use focus points on the eyes. In this video it looks like you are just pointing and shooting. So how can you do that if there needs to always be a focus points on the eye? And if you don’t mind me asking…. What setting is your camera on? Are you on M, P, or Av?

    • @billgoodephotography7725
      @billgoodephotography7725 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      When using window light like this I was using I think a 2.8 setting on the f-stop. My Nikon z6 was set to search the eyes but sometimes does not work as it should. If I hit a cheek or even the nose the setting will still give me enough depth of field to stay clear. When I am using studio light inside I am set to maybe f-8 so this setting helps me on keeping the groups clear. When doing groups if you are set to 2.8- or even 5.6 make sure each head is on the same plane. When posing take a look that you don't have someone too far back from the other in your focus area.

      Hey Karen, I am sorry I just came back to reviewing my channel and saw your note. I alway leave my camera on Manual. I feel I have more control. Since I am working with flash in the studio the light around me is not an issue so I am at 125 or 160 of a second. My F stop setting in the studio is often around f8 or f11 at ISO 160 ( I am an old film guy). If I want to drop my focus I will power down my lights and maybe go to f3.5. When I go to the window of course everything changes.Now my main light is the window. With kids I want to stay shape but add some softness to the background When I had the two children I was I think about f5.6. Doing just one child I can get my focus on the face and walk it to f2.8. I love the softness of the window light. The large soft screen I have really adds a lot to the soft light look. I got it from Having the option for window light and flash with different background offers great options for sales. Sorry I did not see your question sooner. If yo have any questions regarding anything else feel free to email me to bill@billgoode.com. Good luck with your business.

      Hi thanks very much for your note sorry I am getting back to you late I just saw this this morning. Sometime working with kids you have to act like a kid. I like to get down on their level and warm them up a bit before putting them in the pose. Most kids feel a little un easy in a new place so they need to get used to it first. Once they do get use to it you may have a 5 or 10 minute window to get some good poses before they run out of steam. Some of my best stuff happens n the first 15 minutes of the session. I have had some Chinese children in the past. They will alway laugh and feel comfortable if I put a stuffed animal on my head and act silly. Thanks for watching glad to help. I will reply faster next time. I was redoing the site and did not see these comments. Thanks.

      www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1347821-REG/evo_gimbals_evo_50583_black_evo_shift_bluetooth_connectivity.htmlle for my smart phone. It's so smooth. It screws onto a light stand very easy. I have regular tripods for my two Nikon Z6's. I use a 70-200 to highlight the subjects interview and a 24-70 for the wide shots. I use a couple of mini Zoom recorders to match my sound. They work great. If I didn't highlight your question please let me know. I am also using Final Cut for my editing. Here is the link.

    • @billgoodephotography7725
      @billgoodephotography7725 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I do work alone and have for many years. It's not bad to give mom your phone and have her shoot some behind the camera looks as you are photographing her daughter. I often will use this for marketing by giving a family member a job. They may even hold a reflector if needed. Outside I often work with off camera flash so a good light stand is easy to carry around and set up. If I don't know the area or if is a very large group my wife will come along to help with an extra set of eye. Senior portraits, kids, couples most of the time is is just me. I like to shoot and move. No need to shoot a lot of images at the same location. If you are n a park move around a lot, on the ground, sitting the more different poses you show the more options you have to sell. Thanks for watching.

      Hi Zory, Sorry for the delay I am coming back around going over my channel and saw your note. I am using some older Photogenic light I had for years. I use one for my main light with a 3ft by 5 ft Larson soft box.I have another Photogenic light mounted on the wall behind me I use as a fill light. I mostly set my main light to about f8 and my fill is about 5.6. If I want a more shadows I will drop the power on the fill light to make changes. Unless I am looking for a certain look it mostly stays in that ratio. I expose for my main light. I think I have had it since 1998. I am thinking of going to a round box. I use three Godox's outdoors when I go on location I love that system.
