Mahavishnu Orchestra - «Mahavishnu» (1984) Full album
มุมมอง 36K6 ปีที่แล้ว
Mahavishnu is an album by the Mahavishnu Orchestra, released in 1984 by Warner Bros. Records. During the 1980s, John McLaughlin reformed the Mahavishnu Orchestra for release of the two albums Mahavishnu and Adventures in Radioland. This band's overall sound was radically different from the original Mahavishnu Orchestra, in particular because of McLaughlin's extensive use of the Synclavier synth...

Is it McCartney on the drums?
HAHAHAHAHA... THIS SONGS AREN'T FROM LENNON CLAYPOLE!!!
If the Beatles had covered In The Court of the Crimson King, it would have sounded like this.
Love the cover of The Who's Boris The Spider lads!
Commercial jazz. Give me Grant Green. He's good no doubt. He's a good studio musician. I prefer Larry Carlton he got soul.
Ya seychas zakazal etu plastinku. :-) Sposiba shto ya smog eye proslushat zdes. :-) I izvinite moy ruskiy. 🙂
,From First Course, Captain's Journey, Captain's Finger, Two "Friendship" albums, Gentle Thoughts...all great, great albums...The Mozart of Jazz, he truly is!
😢Yes, grew up with these genius musician's tunes.
that guitar solo in night riders cis off the charts awsome
A solid band, strong compositions and amazing line up. I saw them in the mid 80s at the Stone and then The Warfield theater in San Francisco. Bill and Jonas were in their mid 20s and were phenomenal! It doesn't get much better.
Though 80's Mahavishnu Orchestra is my least favourite period of the band, I still dig it. The albums Mahavishnu and Adventures In Radioland sound REALLY 80's but it WAS the 80's after all. Band was great live during this time as well.
Got To See & Record Them at the JVC Jazz Festival at the Hollywood Bowl 8/11/85
One of JOHN’s BEST!!!
Great!!!!!
Billy cobham drums, synclavier John, and sax..

Excellent album merci beaucoup 💥

voi vittu! aivan kuin Titan II-ohjus!
I was fortunate to be just out of High School to hear lee ritenour alex acuna, abraham laboriel, ernie watts, steve forman, and don grusin at the Roxy in LA (late 70s?). The interaction and bouncing off each other was incredibly magical. Tightest group I've ever seen.
❤
Эту группу мне показал чел из Мексики когда мы возвращались из Оахаки в ДФ с глубокого похмелья)))
very very good........................................................................................................................................................................................................................................
Was Lee Ritenour on the original Three Days of the Condor soundtrack? Seems very likely but I can't find his name on the album.
I think no. But Dave Grusin yes.
I think so because Lee is always a partner of Dave Grusin.
Nice✌️
This has its moments. The whole thing would be 10x better IMO if JM just plugged in a plain old electric guitar straight to a nice tube amp and turned up the gain and played the exact same notes. The late 60s/early 70s culture showed so much promise, in so many ways, then the 80s came along and took a big 'ol dump on it all, which we haven't recovered from to this day. Yeah, I yell at clouds too...
Exactly. I'd love to hear a version played on the samd gear as Birds, Emeralds or Inner.
Leia Organa would agree..
Excellent !
Syd would be proud of you.
Шо за меркурий, шо вообще за бред
yoko was using john lennon which helped her to get known and make music. again the same with sean because he has the lennon name and john voice. this music is very bad and makes me think alot of yoko that was bad also.
Grandiosa versión. The Lunatic.
SAW THIS LIVE IN 1984, IN THE ROUND, CLEVELAND OHIO...CHANGED MY FREAKING LIFE!!
Fantastic
Really a gem!!
"All Songs Written By John McLaughlin, except where noted." Well, I'm glad this album doesn't actually feature "songs" (those things with vocals) - that would be the pits. This album is very uneven and doesn't even come close to earlier Mahavishnu offerings, much less the albums by the first MO. This album sounds more like late 70s Weather Report, to an extent, but worse. Really, the best and only thing worth hearing on this album is Cobham's thundering drumming! There is, however, one MO album even worse this one - the next one: Adventures in Radioland. As one commenter stated: "The original Mahavishnu Orchestra is a hard act to follow." And THE INNER MOUNTING FLAME is in my Top 10, so it's not as if I don't appreciate McLaughlin's playing and composing - when he's great, he's the master.
Saw this lineup in San Francisco. Incredible concert!! Loved the two records from this period. I bought the live video at Montreux but it was a lackluster performance..IMO.
first time hear first time see ,a good suprise thanx
Synthesized guitar era!
love this song and this band!!
I was blessed with seeing this concert live at the Hollywood Bowl it was mind blowing! Thanks to my Bro's RP, RO and Mike n Joey R Wagons bro's! ☝️💛🙏🏼
This album is really special, incredible sounds and compositions.
I would like to recommend the album "Birds of fire".
The last song is just....anyway, saw this in ' 84 in Rotterdam. Mitchell Forman was killer! The man of the concert I think.
This last song is for me the conclusio of all and everayhing. I wanna hear it when its time to go. A wise "goodbuye" to the body and this world. It's full of indian spirit.
the worst parts sound like a schmaltz band at a lithuanian wedding . the best parts aint bad .
Tremenda banda puros virtuosos extraordinarios
If you love Astronomy Domine, I recommend listening to Voivod's cover of the song too, equally epic, beautiful.
And I dare to say, better
the walking seeds version is good also
Thanks for the recommendation. The drums are great on Voivod's version.
It's difficult to conceive that this is the Mahavishnu Orchestra with only one original member. I think the title refers to McLaughlin personally but calling this band the Mahavishnu Orchestra is quite a stretch. The instrumentation and material are completely different.
Is it Bad??
So glad that the Delirium is bringing back Psychedelia
dude its way more then just this band lol learn to look around
@@StarEater666 Don’t tell me what to do.
