We went to this hotel in August 20th and we had a fantastic time the only thing we have problems with is the plug to plug in your phone not good

Does it include food airfare Uber hotel?

Is there a public transport to down town Puerto plata ?

did you have to pay at the restaurants or is it part of the inclusive ?

I was there in 2018 very nice hotel food is great people really great

Everything looks amazing, can’t complain, especially for the pricing. I am looking into booking. Which one is nicer of the two. Also in the alleyway do you pay for the ice cream and the pizza or is that included as well. Is there entertainment every night or that only on the weekends

This is not a five star resort, more like a 3 1/2 star at best. Most of the rooms are outdated, air-conditioning in the rooms are not all that great, a lot of the rooms have mould in them and no hot water. Very little shade around the pool and not enough lounge chairs to accommodate everybody there. They approach you every day trying to get you to buy a timeshare. Certain areas of the resort you can smell the septic system which is disgusting. The outdoor theatre is an accident waiting to happen with no hand rails to hang onto as you're trying to navigate your way to the seat witches just concrete. On the weekends you will find hookers walking around the resort propositioning men. This is an old resort which had some renovations done do it, but like the old saying goes. You can put lipstick on a pig, but it's still a pig. Don't waste your money going here as you can do a lot better going somewhere else for the same price.

6/10 doesnt even sound that bad, considering that a) its so much cheaper than many other resorts and b) it sounds like 1 critique is that this isnt a party hotspot. Based on this and other reviews I'd definitively consider this resort for a week long get away vacation, especially if it saves me 300-600€.

You can enjoy this resort without purchasing an Ultimate Leisure Club membership. The membership is a scam!

Great video. Didnt see many people in the water at the beach. Is the water clear and no rocks? Are you able to use the buffet at the resort next door and how was it? This resort is on my list of places to go for an all inclusive and the video was really helpful.

We are from Canada and this hotel/resort was advertised as 4 stars not 5 here . We were there in March of this year and there was more variety of foods at the buffet and it seemed a bit more livelier but it was busy high season then . Looking forward to my 9 days there in November . We also found the staff polite and helpful , we did tip often but worth it for us as we were treated well and made to feel welcome .

Yo me hospedé en el Riu Playacar, que decepción, el personal administrativo con acento español de España, no resolvieron una situación que se presentó en la habitación, deberían tener personal mexicano o alguna otra nacionalidad de América Latina, los de España no quieren a los latinos, nosé porque les permiten trabajar en México, lo que sí disfruté mucho fue caminar por el complejo Playacar, es un encanto, el boulevard, las casas, los resorts, rentamos un auto y tuvimos la oportunidad de visitar otros hoteles de la misma cadena (sin costo adicional) tales como Riu Lupita, Riu Tequila, Riu Yucatán, Riu Península, Riu Palace Cancún, eso estuvo muy bien, nos permitían comer en los restaurantes de buffet y hacer uso de las instalaciones, amé el complejo Playacar y el acceso a otros hoteles incluídos los de Cancún.

I was there last February 2020 Dont go there it is a cheap place . the buffet is not safe . one spoon for the fish the chicken and salad , the beech is ordinary . you have to go 2 or 3 milles north to find better place . me and my wife was sick for 2 weeks after that . go to Grand Bahia Principe at Punta Cana instead

Never ever again, Small resort, rooms are not good. The gym is small there is no equipment. You can not rent a bicycle. entertainment is poor. I suggest Tropical Beach Resorts. Yes it was good before 8 - 10 years.

How is this Truly honoring Christ ? As Christians, there should be a distinction from us and the world & Im speaking from the Word of God (Read Romans 12:1-2). Christ said If He be lifted up from the earth, He will draw all men unto Him. So we lift Christ up but He does the drawing of souls (John 12:32). Christ knows Exactly what it takes to reach any lost soul. Not once, does He command us to look or act like the world, in order to reach the world, & When Christ ate with sinners, I do not remember reading Anywhere that He acted like them, to reach them. Christ stated He came to call them to repentance & that should be our main goal (Matt 9:11-13). There are No surprises with God & therefore we do not have to create new, fleshly ways to reach a new generation or any generation. Have we forgotten God, Himself created each generation, so He knows exactly what to do to reach any soul ? This is why He already gave us instructions on what to do & Christ says, for us to let our light so shine before men, that they may see our GOOD works & glorify our Father which is in heaven (Matt 5:16). Not our fleshly, disobedient, want to fit in with the world looking works. Why would we want to act or even look like the world when Christ already overcame this lost world (John 16:33) ? Whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God (James 4:4).
