I saw this in the theater and I had a "knockout" moment hearing Kristin. she was a complete unknown and i likened it to what my aunt saw in 1962, another unknown by the name of Barbra Streisand in I can get it for you wholesale. Another show that flopped but made a star out of its breakthrough unknown actor.
THIS is what Stephen Schwartz saw that clued him in to Kristin's range, NOT Charlie Brown. This role had incredible range beyond anything you've ever heard except On the Twentieth Century, which she didnt get to do till decades later.
Wow!😮❤ She nails it! She masters comedy! All 4 ft 11 of her commands the stage and steals the show even in her early days before her fame and notoriety. Thanks for posting.
@@bobbybubby7977 3 years later and it's not late at all! Thanks so much for that. I saw this show. I remember much of this it: Debra Monk in "Everybody's Girl" was a showstopper for me, Karen Ziemba's "Running in Place," Gregory Harrison and Daniel McDonald -SIGH! I very much remember Kristin Chenowith but not this song. How could I have forgotten? So glad to have my memory 'corrected' via this video.
I love the fact that Christine Daae's may tape their high E, while Chenoweth nailed it without. :) And can I just say, the fact she's being lifted only makes such a high note that much more difficult.
@@JoshFreilich Respectfully, it's not to do with that. The reason is that the staging calls for doubles of Christine & the Phantom. 'The 'real' versions exit the stage and then are immediately on the bridge above, the bridge version are the doubles and meanwhile the 'real' versions are getting into the boat. It is pre-recorded to cover all of that
"Chris has already called me 12 times today. He's the kind of guy that can't take no no no no no no no no no no no no for an answer!" LMAO! This show was brilliant!
Step five, I've never been to step five. I've never needed to. For 28 years I've turned the other cheek, taken the high road, loved my neighbor, but I'm human! I get angry! You may not see it, but it's in there, and Ooooh yes, it's building! Layer, upon layer, upon layer, and at step 5, explodes! Consequences begin! Throw me in jail! Burn me at the steak! I don't care! And now that you've heard about step 5, do you really wanna see step 5?!?
@biggestChenofan awesome! I would love to try to go see the show one more time before she leaves. thats cool u got ur friends to like her, i tried doing that too, lol, i got one person!
omg, shes so cute on this show, i wish there more episodes. and wow, it doesnt sound that much like KC singing the theme song. I mean it does, but it doesnt.

Love it. Was in awe of her when I heard this song!

The entirety of the title song in 'Phantom of the Opera' is pre-recorded
@@bigred8432and it’s because of technical reasons that it is, because the boat’s engine would cover up the singing if it were live
