Crazy! Biking the NJ 2025 in a Blizzard.
Join me in this video as I take you on a snowy bicycle ride through New Jersey during the incredible snowstorm on January 19, 2025. The weather was bitterly cold, and while I couldn’t record as much as I wanted, I hope you enjoy this unique glimpse into the storm’s aftermath. ❄️🚴♂️
On that day, New Jersey experienced a major winter storm that covered the state in a thick blanket of snow, causing widespread disruptions and safety concerns. According to the National Weather Service, areas in the northern regions, such as Bergen County, received 5 to 9 inches of snow by midnight. Hackettstown recorded approximately 6.2 inches, while other parts of the state averaged 2 to 5 inches of snowfall.
The storm coincided with Martin Luther King Jr. Day, a federal holiday, which reduced traffic and allowed snow-clearing crews to work more effectively. Despite these efforts, the heavy snowfall led to hazardous road conditions, numerous accidents, and travel delays. Residents were urged to stay indoors and avoid unnecessary travel during the storm's peak.
Public transportation also struggled to operate under these challenging conditions. NJ Transit faced delays and cancellations across several bus and rail lines, and air travel was significantly disrupted, with major airports like Newark Liberty International seeing numerous flight cancellations and delays.
This snowstorm will undoubtedly be remembered as one of the most impactful weather events of the year. It was a challenging day for many, but also a reminder of nature’s breathtaking power.

good selection of shopping, previously visited a couple of times over recent years, due to bus costs rising from Manhatten to Woodbury Common, a better alternative is bus from Port Authority to Jersey Gardens Shopping Mall, bus is lot cheaper and terrific shopping selection available after visiting last year
