I hate the fact they blocked the view of the drop of Splash Mountain with trees. Now you can only look straight to see people go down. But this ride is ruined and now they decided to use high advanced animatronics thats electrical and instead of hydrolics, now the robots wont work the dam and humid environment

It has to do with the fact that new & more sensors were put in this vs Slash. It is difficult for even all new attractions too, but even more so for older attractions being updated. These sensors detect where the boats are throughout the ride. When a boat is now sensed correctly, the whole ride needs to be updated. It is worse with a full ride load... unfortunitly, which is why it passed before the soft/preview open. By the way, did notice the boat at the top right by the big drop?!

The only DVD in my collection thats affected is Kate and Leopold. I had to rebuy it again on Bluray due to this.

My second disc for Tales from the Crypt season 4 is the only one of mine affected so far. Bottom of disc looks fine for the most part but the Maniac at Large episode won't read properly and will freeze most players, if you skip to the halfway point of the episode the rest plays fine. Very irritating.

Too bad about the Tarzan films. I recorded all of the films (except one) off TCM when they aired them. DVR messed up so I missed the film "Tarzan and the Huntress". Found a really poor copy on "Internet Archive" as a filler until I can get a decent copy. Since I had recorded these films to DVD and made my own cases, I didn't buy the factory sets. I am going to go thru all my factory discs to check for Rot.

Everybody's going to be surprised when they find that their DVD collections have evaporated.

I have a Sony UBP-X800 4K Blu-ray player. I tried my Superman Ultimate 14 Disc collection - Disc 1 failed skipping bad clusters (seconds to minutes) but physically has a groady 1/4" outside edge which corresponds to around the 15 minute layer change from layer-1 to layer-2. All others have a golden tint and a hazy smudge on the discs when being stamped appear the mold release was improperly cleaned off. You can only see it under bright light and tilting to various angles. For some reason they still play but not all discs tested. Threw in a Looney Tunes disc still need to fully test (saw it on a list) menu loaded. I know that the MGM The Outer Limits original show was a mess of flipper discs and noted online as troublesome, gave up watching as only 10% would read fully in a player. I will be testing in the 4K Blu-ray machine; maybe a better laser mech assemble or software error handling.

I have come across 6 blu rays from 2008-2011 that no longer work in the UK and have different companies. They don't have any rot issue as such as the discs look perfect but they do not get recognised by blu ray players. One of them is WB Blazing Saddles. I even still had a sealed copy of a film and it does not work.

Have you or josh watched the fools and horses dvds yet?

just insert these "non-working" DVD discs into your PC DVD drive and use the media player classic program. and you will be surprised that many of these disks will be fully functional. with the exception of discs with deep scratches or really rotten discs with yellow spots or brown color. this helped me, and I hope it helps you too.
