North Sea Jazz Festival 2024 - @ArinKeshishi & Marmoucha Orchestra presented “Self-Reflection: The Live Experience”
The Marmoucha Orchestra, under the artistic direction of Arin Keshishi, performed at the North Sea Jazz Festival , presenting his debut album ‘Self-Reflection’. Arin Keshishi, an Armenian-Iranian bassist and composer, stands out with his unique blend of Western techniques, classical music, jazz, and flamenco.
The Marmoucha Orchestra consists of dedicated and inspired musicians with deep knowledge and passion for the rich musical languages, styles, and traditions of the SWANA region (Southwest Asia & North Africa, specifically the area from Iran to Morocco) and the Mediterranean region.
In his debut album ‘Self-Reflection’, Arin Keshishi creates a sound that reflects both his personal identity and artistic journey. He bridges traditional musical heritage with the modern sounds he has discovered throughout his international career. This album symbolizes not only his musical development but also a human quest for identity in a world in motion. By weaving his experiences and visions into musical expressions, Keshishi creates a sound that reflects his unique personality while resonating with universal human experiences.
Since his arrival in Amsterdam, Marmoucha has played an essential and inspiring role in Keshishi’s musical career in the Netherlands. At the same time, Arin has left his mark on the artistic signature of Marmoucha. Now, as the leader of the orchestra, he sees his role as an opportunity to push musical boundaries together by exploring experimental paths, merging his own style with Marmoucha’s orchestral expertise.
In ‘Self-Reflection - The Live Experience’, Arin blends various musical styles with the Marmoucha Orchestra into a harmonious whole. His fusion music, a mix of Eastern and Western influences, creates a seamless and unique sound, reflecting his deep understanding of different musical traditions.
