    Not a bad vid but slow down a bit and get a better microphone and most of all go thru the gear in more detail and also put in cut away shots with close-ups of the gear you have ......

    One thing that I saw on another video (not something that you ever think about) that was really helpful is to use like a food saver. You can use that to condense different items down like clothing so it takes up less space

    Excellent video I learned a lot. I do SAR with the Civil Air Patrol. I took a headlamp, removed the headband and installed a belt clip. I clip the head lamp onto my belt and aim downward creating an excellent walking light, lighting the ground ahead of me. I still have my headlamp on of course. If I am doing urban work with a team around me, I can turn the headlamp onto red and not blind my team members if I am using DF equipment. Thank again.

    Jeff, this was a VERY practical video. This is an outdoor activity often laden with mistakes. You are detailed in your information and directly apply some of the math we learned from Ron. Impressive. The filming was also great. Simple and fun. I think I’ll actually use this next year when I lead trips for my school - my students will need to understand proper angles when assembling their hammocks and you’ll be there for them! Thanks!

  • @BenCastellanos

    Very good job Jeff. I like the fact that you used an everyday kind of activity to explain the very complex concept of tension on a rope/cord. I like the way you present yourself in the video. Very professional. I also like the comic relief, it was very subtle but yet noticeably funny. The only constructive critic I have is that some information was repeated several times, but I think that for someone that has no idea what you're talking about it, it is good to hear it twice.

  • @hikewithjeff
    @hikewithjeff 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    Yes...also. If I weigh 200lbs, and stretch my hammock straight and taut, the force on the anchors will be 10X the weight or 2,000 pounds of generated force!

  • @hikewithjeff
    @hikewithjeff 11 ปีที่แล้ว

    Yes. Ron gave us a chart in the curriculum which reflects this. 0 angle is 10x, 45 angle is 75% weight on each side, 30 angle is 100% weight on each side
