BUILDING A LIFE OF PRAISE AND GRATITUDE - Colossians 3:15-17
What if your default response to every situation in life is praise and thanksgiving to God? What difference would it make in your perspective and outlook on life?
Some people think that you can only truly praise God and give thanks to him when life is going well, but in the pages of the Bible, we see numerous examples of people praising God in the storms and thanking him despite the sufferings and hardships because he never leaves them but provides love, mercy, and grace as they face their everyday lives.
In Colossians 3:15-17, Paul exhorts believers to live a life of praise and gratitude to God. For Paul, gratitude is not a seasonal feeling but a lifestyle that we should cultivate daily. As we go on with our personal lives, it's so easy to be filled with a negative mindset, bitterness, and ungratefulness. Today, we will learn how gratitude and praise can deepen our connection with God and transform our daily experience of Him.
What is the secret to a life of praise and gratitude?
1. Let Christ's PEACE rule in your heart (v.15)
2. Let Christ's WORD dwell in you richly (v.16)
3. Let Christ's NAME be honored in everything you do (v.17)
GROWTH GROUP DISCUSSION
1. Based on your personal experience, how does gratitude help you obtain the peace of God in the midst of difficulties?
2. In verse 16, Paul exhorts us to let the word of Christ dwell richly among us. How can a heart of gratitude shape the way we approach God's Word? How might being more thankful impact our Bible study or prayer life?
3. What are some practical ways we can cultivate a daily habit of gratitude in our lives, even when facing challenges? How can we encourage those around us to develop a grateful mindset?

BUILDING THRIVING RELATIONSHIPS - Colossians 3:12-14
มุมมอง 147วันที่ผ่านมา
Relationships are central to the Christian life. God created and redeemed us to pursue a deeper relationship with Him and with one another. Yet, despite this, we often face challenges in how we relate to our fellow believers. 1. Some people live APART from others. 2. Some people live AHEAD of others. 3. Some people live ABOVE others. 4. Some people live UNDER others. 5. Some people live FOR oth...
CONTINUOUS GROWTH - 2 Peter 3:17-18
มุมมอง 12914 วันที่ผ่านมา
The last letter of Peter was written at a very challenging time. Believers were facing both external attacks, such as persecution, and internal attacks, like false teachings, which have infiltrated the church. Professing believers were in danger of renouncing their adherence to the truth. Peter, knowing that his time here on earth is short (1:14), ends his letter with a warning to avoid false t...
DISCIPLEMAKING IN THE FAMILY - Deuteronomy 6:6-9
มุมมอง 8221 วันที่ผ่านมา
The Bible teaches that our family is our first ministry. In Deuteronomy 6:6-9, God emphasizes the role of the parents in nurturing the spiritual life of their children. He reiterates this command in Psalm 78:6-7, wherein it says that He established His words, which He "commanded our fathers to teach to their children, that the next generation might know them." These verses tell us that God desi...
TRAINED FOR GODLINESS - 1 Timothy 4:7-8
มุมมอง 266หลายเดือนก่อน
Training is very crucial if you want to succeed in life. Whether you are an athlete or a soldier, a pilot, or a musician, training will get you on track. We should never underestimate the value of training because it prepares us for the inevitable challenges along the way. Likewise, training is necessary in our Christian lives. In 1 Timothy 4:7-8, Paul exhorts his spiritual son Timothy to "trai...
FULLY TRAINED DISCIPLES - Luke 6:40
มุมมอง 100หลายเดือนก่อน
We learned from our previous message that the idea of "disciple" or "discipleship" is not exclusive to Christianity. It was embedded in the Jewish culture. During the time of Jesus, disciples (or students) usually enrolled themselves in a certain master whose teachings and lifestyle they would adhere to. If we want to fully understand what it means to be a disciple of Jesus, we should learn the...
BEING WITH JESUS - Mark 3:13-14
มุมมอง 82หลายเดือนก่อน
There is a popular cliche' among the Christians that goes like this: "Too busy with the kingdom, but neglecting the King." It's actually a constant reminder to all of us about the danger of being so preoccupied with our "doing" for Christ rather than our "being" with Him. When Jesus called His first disciples, He made clear to them His purposes for them. 1. The first purpose of Jesus' calling i...
Becoming Fishers of Men - Mark 1:16-20
มุมมอง 108หลายเดือนก่อน
The first recorded act of Jesus’ ministry in the Gospel of Mark is not a sensational miracle or a powerful sermon, but rather a simple call to four ordinary laborers to follow Him. This event takes place by the Sea of Galilee, a beautiful lake, with a thriving fishing industry during that time. Simon and Andrew, James and John were all ordinary people at their ordinary tasks when Jesus called t...
OVERCOMING SPIRITUAL IMMATURITY - 1 Corinthians 3:1-11
มุมมอง 1152 หลายเดือนก่อน
Spiritual immaturity is a serious problem that needs to be addressed. It is simply because it is detrimental to the church. Once ignored, it may result in church division. And when the church becomes divided, it will be derailed from fulfilling its mission. The Corinthian church is a perfect example of how spiritual immaturity can damage the church. It is described as a church with much jealous...
LET'S MATURE TOGETHER - Ephesians 4:1-16
มุมมอง 1032 หลายเดือนก่อน
Our growth in Christ is intertwined with church life. In other words, we cannot mature apart from a nurturing community of God's people. If we want to move towards the desired path of God, we need to journey with other believers. But how do we start? How can our church community mature together? And how do we know we are doing it right? Here's God's checklist: 1. A maturing community is UNITED ...
ENDURE TO MATURE - James 1:2-4
มุมมอง 2052 หลายเดือนก่อน
In the past few Sundays, we have learned about spiritual maturity. We know that the primary tool God uses to make us spiritually mature is the Bible. But, aside from His word, God uses another tool, which is trials. But unlike God's word (which we crave for at times), trials are not desirable for us. James said trials come in various ways, and they are an inevitable part of our Christian journe...
Let Us Go On To Maturity - HEB 6:1
มุมมอง 1272 หลายเดือนก่อน
Therefore let us leave the elementary doctrine of Christ and go on to maturity… HEB 6:1 Life is a journey, and like any other journey, there is a beginning and an ending. We begin the journey of life at birth, and we understand that the event of death is a future reality. Physical life is a journey of experiences and learning. It is a journey of growth, hopefully leading to maturity. There are ...
GROW UP - 1 Peter 2:2

The First Letter of Peter was written during the most challenging times: Christians were targets of extreme persecution by the Roman Empire. Death and suffering for Christ were an inevitable reality. In the midst of these difficult circumstances, Peter challenged the believers to continue to grow up (1 Peter 2:2). He even reiterated this truth in his second and final letter (2 Peter 3:18). This...

Many of us may have started doing something and eventually given up. It could be a personal weight loss plan, a reading program, a hobby, or a college course, among others. It is a sad state that many people in the church don't grow into spiritual maturity. In our mes...

We often set our own goals in life, and very often, they are centered on our own desires and preferences. MAKE THE REVELATION 21 CONNECTION!!! Jer 31:31 Behold, the days come, says the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah: Eze 37:19 Say unto them, Thus says the Lord GOD; Behold, I will take the stick of Joseph, which is in the hand of Ephraim, and the tribes of Israel his fellows, and will put them with him, even with the stick of Judah, and make them one stick, and they shall be one in mine hand. God establishes a “New Covenant with the House of Judah and with the House of Israel, and the two shall be made ONE in our Messiah! Has Judah and Israel been rejoined as One, and back into His land? Who is Israel? House of Israel Gal 3:28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. Gal 3:29 And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise. JEREMIAH Jer 31:33 But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, says the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people. Jer 31:34 And they shall teach no more every man his neighbor, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, says the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more. Jer 32:39 And I will give them one heart, and one way, that they may fear me forever, for the good of them, and of their children after them: Jer 32:40 And I will make an everlasting covenant with them, that I will not turn away from them, to do them good; but I will put my fear in their hearts, that they shall not depart from me. Jer 32:41 Yea, I will rejoice over them to do them good, and I will plant them in this land assuredly with my whole heart and with my whole soul EZEKIEL Eze 36:24 For I will take you from among the heathen, and gather you (Judah and Israel) out of all countries, and will bring you into your own land. Eze 36:25 Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you. Eze 36:26 A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh. Eze 36:27 And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them. Eze 37:13 And ye shall know that I am the LORD, when I have opened your graves, O my people, and brought you up out of your graves, Eze 37:14 And shall put my spirit in you, and ye shall live, and I shall place you in your own land: then shall ye know that I the LORD have spoken it, and performed it, says the LORD. Eze 37:21 And say unto them, Thus says the Lord GOD; Behold, I will take the children of Israel from among the heathen, whither they be gone, and will gather them on every side, and bring them into their own land: REVELATION Rev 21:27 And there shall in no wise enter into it anything that defiles, neither whatsoever works abomination, or makes a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life. (And “Not Blotted Out, Rev. 3:5, after Judgment) Rev 21:7 He that overcomes shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son. God will put “His Spirit” in them, and “His Law” in their inward parts and write “His Law” in their hearts, and they (us) will “keep His judgments, AND DO THEM”! They will be placed in the land God promised. They shall inherit all things! “We will not depart from God”, don’t we now depart from God, because of our sin? God will, “remember their sins no more”! Do we still sin today? Is “Repentance” still a requirement? Isn’t this a time of “no more sin”? ... “they shall teach no more”, Do we still need “Teachers” today? Law (in Jeremiah and Ezekiel): translates Torah (the first five books of our Bibles). Do you KNOW and DO ALL that’s in the Torah perfectly today? Are there still those “in the graves”? Have we been resurrected? Have we been “Baptized by God”, cleansed with the living water, and have a “new heart” to walk perfectly with our God? Did someone, “plucked up, or thrown down” New Jerusalem? NEW JERUSALEM: JEREMIAH Jer 31:38 Behold, the days come, says the LORD, that the city shall be built to the LORD from the tower of Hananeel unto the gate of the corner. Jer 31:39 And the measuring line shall yet go forth over against it upon the hill Gareb, and shall compass about to Goath. Jer 31:40 And the whole valley of the dead bodies, and of the ashes, and all the fields unto the brook of Kidron, unto the corner of the horse gate toward the east, shall be holy unto the LORD; it shall not be plucked up, nor thrown down any more forever. EZEKIEL Eze 37:27 My tabernacle also shall be with them: yea, I will be their God, and they shall be my people. Eze 37:28 And the heathen shall know that I the LORD do sanctify Israel, when my sanctuary shall be in the midst of them for evermore. Eze 36:35 And they shall say, This land that was desolate is become like the garden of Eden; and the waste and desolate and ruined cities are become fenced, and are inhabited. REVELATION Rev 21:10 And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and showed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God, Rev 21:22 And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it. Rev 21:23 And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof. Rev 21:24 And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honor into it. Rev 21:25 And the gates of it shall not be shut at all by day: for there shall be no night there. This (Jeremiah, Ezekiel, and Revelation) describe the “City of God, New Jerusalem”! Has New Jerusalem come down out of heaven? Do we still have a sun and a moon? Is anyone able to destroy it? HEBREWS Heb 8:13 In that he says, A new covenant, he hath made the first old. Now that which decays and waxes old is ready to vanish away. Has heaven and earth passed away? Is it not us and this earth that is decaying, waxing old, and ready to vanish? Will His Kingdom on earth decay or wax old or vanish? Mat 24:35 Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away. Rev 21:1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. The reason Hebrews brings up the New Covenant, decades after the Messiah had risen from the grave, is to remind us of what Jeremiah and Ezekiel were prophesying, “A New Heaven and a New Earth with a New and better Covenant and Mediator”, that we will no longer break His Covenant, and all will be fulfilled! Heb 8:6 But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises.
