    I use the wall with a softer ball engaging the body to play some high topspin stokes. When you are 6m in front of the wall the timing is a bit more realistic.......

    You’ll get more out of wall practice if you duplicate the error scenarios and movements you did on the court against the wall. ( Obviously the ball can only come at you linearly. So you’ll need to be creative. ) For volleys , I stand 5-10 ft away and standing in ready position but - totally relaxed. The same way I normally would stand on the court . I feed myself a ball by hitting it hard so it comes back to me hard and fast . What this does is develops your understanding of exactly which muscle groups are activated and when - during a volley . Conserving your energy is crucial in any sport especially one as physically demanding as tennis. One way to do that is to know when to engage a particular body part and muscle because you don’t want your body fully engaged (active ) 100% of the time. Otherwise, you’ll exhaust yourself. It’s about learning how to use your body and muscles to extend your time on the court without tiring yourself out. Most the time , we’re usually running for a ball at an angle - diagonally ! For the Forehand and Backhand, you need to feed yourself a ball where you can somehow create this exact scenario. So what I do is stand 10 -15 ft away , bounce the ball to my right so it bounces at the exact height I want and where I would need to run up to it (scramble full speed) and execute a forehand or a backhand. Learning how your body moves and how to get those muscles to work together is a necessary part in developing your skills and requires thousands of hours working the wall - alone ! Because it’s only when you’re by yourself - alone - and with your own thoughts that “magic” happens.

    Are you using a regular tennis ball or a softer practice one?

      This is a regular ball, but if you have trouble controlling the ball, I would suggest a softer ball. Can use a red, orange or green dot so the ball doesn’t come off the wall so hot!

      Haha it’s not an easy drill! Try using an orange ball and build up to a regular ball!

    This training is sh.i.at. You need to go through your matches and analyze the shots you struggle with and work through them with reps/sets.

    Mesmerizing camera angle. Couldnt pull away watching pro hitting at court level. Why oh why cant we see this more on tour?!? Karue, couple times your coach urged you to 'use the legs'. I wasnt sure if that was about getting inside baseline and up on balls he thought you could ... or seeing something in your forehand where he wanted you to get more power from the ground (or something else). What was your takeaway when he said that?

    Karue, I know you got a little salty last time when I said you could get more oomph on your 1st serve, because you commented, but then a week later I saw you working on your serves... Which was great to see! It's clearly paid off. This time, I will just say you are playing butter smooth, I can tell you've gotten so much better since you started your turning pro at 30 journey, and you have a fantastic coach around your age which is great. Where can I see your tour schedule so I can come watch you play and cheer you on? It would be absolutely legendary if you took this journey beyond the challenger circuit. I myself am going through a turning 30 tennis journey where I now have a more stable schedule in my career and have started playing a lot more tennis. I will hopefully be racking myself up with an ITF schedule next year. Best of luck in your future matches. Cheering you on

    To be totally honest, karue doesnt seem like he enjoyed this too much. Even i know, that hes mostly about lateral movement and not liking to go closed stance probably cause weight shifting feels more natural for him. Idk. He didnt look too pleased about your comments and ,,tips". Maybe im wrong about that and doing you wrong, if so im sorry. And as a tennis coach you probably should know the wilson blade 😅

      ​I live and play tenns in Europe where it's mostly rainy and cold + here they know nothing other than clay or hard court but then indoors, the California region or Miami in the south east of the US is paradise when it comes to outdoor tennis, wish I could play tennis there too for a few months. 🤩 @@Yungdil

      Karue Sell number 301 in the world. Narrowly lost in the semi finals of the Las Vegas challenger last Saturday. He beat Taylor Fritz in a practice set not so long ago. One hell of a player, hopefully we'll see him in some grand slams next year if he keeps rising up the rankings!
