@delpproductions217 I'd just start singing Southern Pacific roll on!
Can I feature you in a song remake of *Cargo movin' people* in memory of the N&W? I love your film and it'd be perfect for it.
@ALCO-C855-fan absolutely!!
@delpproductions217 Thx. SO MUCH! ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ I already tried one but I forgot to ask the other channel I took it from for permission so I gotta tar it over and do it again with footage I really can use. Thx. for giving me permission. THIS is awesome!🥰😍❤️
@ No Problem!
@delpproductions217 'Hugs' Ya got more vintage videos than this one?
@delpproductions217 Hope you don't mind if I include these solo clips of the J's and other as well. I saw them and they're really good as well. True eye candy.❤️❤️❤️

Sounds really neat!
Well, the beginning half, was OK, BUT the second half, the White Sky, made the exposure, of the engine sides, too Dark, to See Any Details !!

Only two still exist today.
Two beautiful steam locomotives great legends of all time
This is a wonderful display of steam power, the Norfolk & Western rr had an incredible variety of articulated steam power and the "Y6 class" were the best performers of the N&W articulated steam fleet. It's always a joy to see footage of steam locomotives operating during the steam era as this is a long gone/ historic era that will never be repeated again.
Couldn't agree more!
Aheh, that guy who was yapping about diesels being better deleted all of his comments lol

Great sound recording. It’s interesting that these locos received the same streamlining as the J class. Thank you for sharing.
It's sad that there are no Y class operational. These guys were beasts!
3:00 back when 2156 had steaming life compared to right now
3:13 and there's the driver that once was making this machine purr
1:20 Why was 2142 hauling a freight excursion consist lookin ahh?
Prolly Cuz 2142 was Assigned to do that… I don’t know how else to put it really
N&W Y's were actually very small articulated locomotives. The 2156's boiler doesn't look any larger than the N&W 611 4-8-4.
@@markantony3875 right
@delpproductions217 I am right, thanks! The Ys boiler was very small compared to other big articulated locomotives. That is why their HP topped out at 25 mph, then declined at speeds above 25 mph. Their boilers had very limited steam production capacity.
It's literally a J class locomotive, but with a two-wheeled trailing truck instead of a four-wheeled one.
@@AnimalsVehiclesAndMore basically. Yeah! the also Had a Thicker Stripe, Thinner Rods and a More Pronounced Tender
This brings a new meaning to iron horse THE RODS CLANKING SOUND LIKE A HORSE GALLOPING OMG-

That photo is indeed Boaz (actually "Boaz Siding"), one of WInston Link's favorite locations on the Norfolk & Western. Link titled the photo "Highball for the Double Header" and it was originally shot in color. This sound recording may have been made at the same time. I think this is perhaps the most dramatic shot Link ever made of Norfolk & Western steam (and one of his last, made in April 1959). The immense size, power and nighttime spectacle of these machines is just breathtaking. (Source: The book "The Last Steam Railroad in America", with photos by Link and text by Thomas Garver.)
