My son (Jackson) was born at The Countess of Chester Hospital at 34 weeks and 4 days on April 9th, 2023. Myself and my partner spent 16 days following his birth on the brand new neo natal unit at the hospital while he gained weight and battled an infection. All I have to say is what a fantastic unit, the staff, facilities and atmosphere was unbelievable. Having heard about Letby myself and my partner where incredibly nervous, but honestly, we had nothing to fear. The most chilling thing is that to access the brand new unit from inside the main hospital building, you have to pass through the old neo natal unit (where letby worked) it is incredibly spooky, filled with old incubators and monitors and training dolls. It was my only complaint on our review form we filled out on leaving the unit. It saddens me that the unit will now forever be tarnished with letby's crimes, we knew off four couples who decided to have their premature babies moved to other local hospitals purley based of the reputation the countess now has. Either way, they saved my sons life, and I will always be grateful to the doctors, nurses, and midwives who looked after him.

I have some questions:- 1: In all the Documentaries of this case, not one have i seen that gives her family background, where are her parents and why they have not spoken out? yet only friend has. 2: what measures have the Hospital at Chester and or other Hospitals have done to prevent any further killers. 3:Why don't they have cameras in these wards, so the babies can be monitored to investigate future deaths of babies? Please note Serial Killers are very clever and can manipulate anyone, this is because the media portray serial killers in movies as ugly sad, lonely horrible people, but these killers in real like can kill because they gain peoples trust. They also can infiltrate families by befriending them . They also alongside pedophilles gain entry in schools, Boarding homes, care homes anywhere that children reside. (aka Ian Huntley) These people are very clever and tricky , they can be very charismatic and attractive. (ak Ted Bundy) Letby was attractive and gentle to her friends, she had them well tricked, but yet did not have a boyfriend. It seemed to me that the hospital management was really slow to connect the dots considering Letby was on on the unit since every baby died of unknown causes. But the main question for me, is where are Letby.s parents?? and why have they not spoken out about her daughter?

the fact that the camera also spans onto photos of dot and ethel together and also turns to ethel's grave shows the friendship bond they've had over the years. and finally they get to enjoy that in the afterlife

I was living in England when this happened and I don't remember the media covering this a lot, which is very telling... The hospital (NHS) is also to blame, not only the nurse. The hospital had the opportunity to stopped her and didn't do it. I have no words. I think this is the main reason why this case didn't get a lot of attention on the mainstream media in the Uk because gives a terrible image of the health system of the country. Also this case comes to show that truly you can not judge a book by its cover. Imaging that instead of being white and brirish she was inmigrant... RIP all the victims, the babies and the families deserve justice.

I’m surprised they don’t mention another notorious baby killer, Beverly Allitt, in the early 90’. It’s almost like a copycat murderer. Allitt was diagnosed with Munchausen syndrome. This could explain Lucy Letbe crimes as she wanted all the attention as an only child. Just a thought. RIP little ones.

When the medical consultant is asked if parents can trust the hospital, he is hesitant and heartbroken because his trust in humanity is shattered. How can he or anyone guarantee anything when an expert and proficient health professional they trusted so deeply has done something this heinous?

Gosh the friend had a sheltered life. To think kind people are kind. My brother told me from little " just because they are nice doesn't mean they are nice" its very simple to understand.

Her friend is going to have serious issues getting through life if she fails to look facts in the face and accept them and chooses to go purely with her emotions. I’m in awe at how naive and quite frankly stupid she really is for not accepting the gravity of evidence against Letby. The fact she didn’t want her friends to attend the trial says everything. Because she doesn’t want them to see how much evidence is against her.

To the friend denying Letby had it in her to hurt any baby, go & tell that to the grieving families of the defenceless newborn babies you're so-called friend murdered/attempted murder + Anyone claiming a 'miscarriage of justice' , go review the evidence properly & see if you return with the same ridiculous claims ? The fact lucy is jewish and had connections in the hospital so things got put to a side and over looked. The doctor who lucy apparently was infatuated with should be investigated the chain of command above. Is there a dark infiltration in nhs like in police institutions and government?

That's the trouble with psychopaths - they are superb actors and utterly plausible. See Hervey Cleckley 'The Mask of Sanity'. Only very rarely does the mask slip. Her relationship with her parents is telling. Looks like her friends have never seen her in a crisis situation - that's when the cracks show, and when a pattern of behaviour begins to emerge.

If my baby had just died and a nurse asked if I wanted her to bathe him, I would say no, I want to bathe my own baby thank you. How awful that this is one of the last images the parents have of their child.
