Motors make everything better!
มุมมอง 2085 ปีที่แล้ว
A while back I put together a model of Theo Jansen's "Strandbeest" (aka sand monster/sand beast). Today I decided it needed a motor, batteries and a switch...because...well...why not? Take a look at the simple circuit I put together that you too can do at home to make your very own automatic walking machine. Check out Theo's Strandbeest website to see these incredible mechanisms in action in th...

มุมมอง 36K5 ปีที่แล้ว
Follow me as a figure out how to upgrade the speakers in my VZ Holden Commodore to get some awesome bass and all-round great audio experience. The process of removing the door panels, replacing the speakers and soldering the connections will be very similar for the VY Commodore and basically any other car with in-door speakers. How to remove a bottle security cap ... using a hard-drive!
มุมมอง 16K5 ปีที่แล้ว
Ever gotten home after buying something from the bottle-o only to find they have left the security cap on and now you have to go all the way back to where you bought it for them to just pass it under their fancy device at the counter and hand it back to you? Well, I thought to myself - surely there is an engineering solution to remove the security cap from a bottle - it can't be that hard.... r...
Iron Man gets a Facelift!

Let's be real, the main reason most engineers go into engineering is because they want to become Iron Man! In this video I modified my Iron Man helmet to have Arduino controlled LED eyes! Check out how I built the helmet on my website (and let me know if you want a video!) www.engineerinthemaking.com/projects/#/ironmanhelmet Let me know what I should do with it next!!! // Instagram instagram.co...
Guitar Hero MIDI Drum Conversion!!
มุมมอง 32K6 ปีที่แล้ว
Ever wanted to own a drum kit but don't want to wake up the neighbours or spend hundreds of dollars on an electric kit? Why not just make your own!? This project takes an old guitar hero drum kit and converts it into a midi controller using an Arduino and some simple wiring. // Check out Evan Kale!!! MYO Armband Test1
มุมมอง 2108 ปีที่แล้ว
I recently bought myself an MYO Armband from ThalmicLabs and have been blown away by what it can do! The armband allows you to wirelessly control technology with gesturer and motion by monitoring the electrical signals being passed through your muscles. This is a very quick test I did after playing around with the armband for a little bit. The response and accuracy of the moment is incredible a...
Tron Inspired Speaker Box
มุมมอง 4.2K10 ปีที่แล้ว
This is one of my favorite and most rewarding projects to date. What started with an old second hand Logitech system turned into an awesome led lit speaker box which looked like it came straight out of Tron. The time and effort put into the design work including countless hand drawn and cad files definitely paid off! The main focus of this project was to create an aesthetically pleasing design ...
Mario and Pacman Tins - Sound Activated LED's
มุมมอง 38810 ปีที่แล้ว
This is one of my earlier projects from when I was beginning to get into electronics. It is a simple circuit using 2 TIP31's to make leds flash to two channels of audio.
you can also do this with the S2 VT Commodore
Does your headunit handle them well or are they hooked up to a amp?
No no I am not scared of the teefs I boops them so cute I am a shepsky and my sister is a very beautiful bully dog many boops from the dog pack ❤️
You’ve made this so simple thank you
Now add butyl deadening to the inside of the door skins... Make them sound twice as good
hi, does this modification work as a standalone drum kit? or it has to be plugged to a pc as a midi controller?
My Band Hero ones needed no modifications, I just plug them in to my PC and it's automatically recognizes it as a midi controller.
Hey man, are you still building?
Does this allow to switch between using as an electric drum kit and using with a wii remote for playing games?
You can get speaker wire adapters chopping wires are big mistake in car audio
Thanks this has been helpful, going to attempt putting new speakers in tomorrow 😃
That was awesome mate, well done ay.😂
You're a crack up. Enjoyed the video
Haha thanks, glad you enjoyed! :)
Can't you just remove the speaker covers
The speakers your putting in arnt that much better than the stocks. The stocks would have a better bottom end response. I would say putting in splits would be a upgrade not el cheap o 2 ways.
are you sure the stock ones don't really perform that well and I just brought a pair of these after listening to them at auto barn and they sounded a lot better
Nothing a little epoxy can’t fix 🤣
amazing
very nice!
Those speakers are actually 6.5 or are at least listed as 6.5, picked up the same pair today keen to see what it sounds like
IKEA's stool and GHWT drum set......me and you have the same drum kit setup lol.
I have PS3 Band Hero Wireless Drum Set (No Brain Controller or Dongle) available for sale in Owings Mills, MD 21117 if any one is interested in picking up from Dark Star Way.
I recently bought a VZ Calais and expected a half decent stereo. It sounds like absolute ball sweat. Hugely disappointed. Definitely need to invest.
lol "Engineer"
so much fucking around just get to it no one’s wants your life story
Hey, just curious if this is the same for a VX 2001 COMMODORE, because it looks very similar
Yeah VT - VZ models are all the same car under the plastic :).
I enjoyed this
1 screw for lock, 1 screw for handle, 7 screws around door card (8th screw behind handle), easier to take door card off with window down, instead of cutting oem plug off make a patch loom, 6"-6.5" fit in doors
15 seconds with a drill....
You will be able to crank some divide and multiply with the boys and show off them pipe's! Well done Ed, we love your work mate!
can i mirror ipad on this and use ipencil?
You left the 2 ohm tweeters at the top of the dash on either side connected? Either disconnect them or use a component style mid range / tweeter combo.!
Yep. Part of the reason the speaker shown had no tweeter separation and just that cone is because the vz has them built in under the front demister vent trim so it was a component type you replaced with a coaxial type.
Is it 120hz
Sure i will do it by myself, piece of cake...
good for console gaming?
You forgot to mention the back doors taking them off the child lock things break right away when you try to unclip them , holy shit their so brittle haha
observation: 10 minutes? Seriously Ginger?
th-cam.com/video/TIiA53xsNSs/w-d-xo.html
those red tabs in the lock latch you can buy from Holden dealers for around a buck each by the way
@@craigmiddlemiss6917 yes . Of course now they are all rebranding
If Im using this with a PC can I use one usb c cable for bpth display and power?
You sure can! Works really well too. I've even been using a single USB cable between my Samsung phone and the display and it works perfectly to power the display and use Samsung DEX.
@@engineerinthemaking1 Thanks
Thanks
Where are you from? You have a more regional accent
I'm just from Sydney nothing too fancy 🇦🇺
You can also put 6x9s in the rear parcel shelf and buy grills that sit above them after cutting the trim.
You reckon these cars a good for a first car 2020?
Yes look after them well and get them regularly serviced treat well as they aint no burnout car.
quality content and help, keep it up :)
Thank you Rodz! Really appreciate the comment 😁
Omg everyone hates this guy
I didn't realise I had such a huge fan base... 😲🤯
you should control your DJ date night robot with this ;)
Yas!! Absolutely 😁
Awesome presentation Corey. 💚
Thanks Peps! 😁
I followed what you said and showed, but the only thing that I can’t get right, is the lock on the doors. The plastic button on the door card doesn’t slide correctly with the lock mechanism. Any thoughts?
Hi Jon-Michael, glad the video helped! If I have understood you are referring to the red clip that attaches the door lock cap to the threaded rod of the lock (the part that moves up and down)? From memory the height of this was adjustable and may not be clipping into your cap properly. My advice would be to make sure you have the lock in the "unlocked" position (up), pull the red clip out from the lock cap, place the cap over the rod to the unlocked height, then press the red clip back into place. Hope this helps!
Make sure you pop out the red clip. just so it frees up. Slide the button down the threaded rod, the red clip in the out position will then stop the button going down. Clip it in at this position, it is the right height. Note that VYs do not have the hole at the bottom of the red clip to help unclip it, on VZ just lifting the button slightly you can hook out the red clip, which disengages the button. Use a small jewelers screw driver or something like that to carefully unclip on VY. Think Holden used to just rip the buttons out and replace the red clip.
do vy have 6’ or can install 6.5’
I found the 6" speakers fitted perfectly with no problems. I haven't tried 6.5" but there may be enough space, however, you may need to modify the plastic mount in the door slightly to make them work.
All doors have 6 inch speakers Rear shelf can fit 6x9’s in flush There’s a plate either side with spot welds on it that you have to punch out
@@engineerinthemaking1 i cant find 6 inch speakers anywhere no more
What's darda?
I don't know about darda... But do you say data or data? 🤔
