How to Give Way in Traffic in Germany!
Can you please tell which city are you driving in mostly? Can you please make a video of a real exam route video
❤
Lets say I am in a traffic light which is red, and I want to go "left", and even if the traffic light is red, I see there a green illuminated arrow on the other end of the cross road. I should take it as priority right? Those lights generally stay on for few seconds only.
Exactly correct, if it's a illuminated green light on attached next to a red light, you still take the priority as you follow the green lit up signal instead of the red circle one.
Thank you so much your video has helped me alot 😊
I am very glad it helped :)
Thanks! Very clear and well explained
Thank you!
Om the day of exam do they also make me overtake on Autobahn 😮😮😮mmmm?.
It depends, for example if a truck is driving in front of you with 80 km/h, there is no speed limit, and you have the chance to overtake, then you should of course overtake and use the 130 km/h standard speed.
@HowtoDriveGermany Thanks so much for your response. I am honestly learning a lot from your videos. And Is there no videos of what to do first the moment you start with your practical, Like get in the car and adjust your mirror and your seat 💺 and put on seat belt. Can you tell me more and what to do before starting car please. Or 1st I have to start car or?
@@The_Animat0r Yes first you adjust mirrors, seat and wear the seatbelt, after that it depends if the questions begin right away or examiner will first ask you to start your car to demonstrate lights etc, you can't go wrong here don't worry, just listen to the examiner and respond accordingly and you'll be good to go, just stay relaxed and easy.
In theory it says when entering Autobahn drive 60km/h . If i am wrong please correct me, I am.just here to learn please. And honestly i like your videos. Watching them i feel like the day i go drive i will pass
Thank you for liking the content
Please tell me.when joining Autobahn how much speed should i drive , 60km/h than accelerate to merge infront of the other car , Or just only that 60km/h
You can drive faster than 60 km/h on the acceleration lane, it also depends on how many cars are already on the Autobahn and what's the speed limit on the Autobahn etc.
@HowtoDriveGermany Thank you so so much honestly. Friday is my 1st practical day and I see your videos since last week . So I am leaning now
@@The_Animat0r Wish you best of luck for your exam!
Can u do the video you talked about @4:35 - 4:39 ?
The video is out today, you can check it out on my channel. :)
My home country license has expired 4 months before. Will renewed license will acceptable to applying for Germany driving license. while i am in Germany since last year
You can ask this to the Führerscheinstelle/driving school, this is a technical situation where the official authorities will be able to guide you if that's what you can do or not!
Thank you for this video
Just came across this and very interesting. I have a question please . Like I am not 100% good in Deutsch but how will I tell my instructor that I don't get well some questions. Now I am scared
You can just learn the keywords about driving in German, like shown in my video and your driving teacher will also guide you on this, you can also ask the examiner to repeat the question slowly when you don't understand something, you will be able to answer for sure then.
@HowtoDriveGermany Thank you so much I'll definitely do this and surely come up with a testimony. 1st time seeing your videos and I like them all
@@The_Animat0r Thank you so much it means a lot!
i have question that in automatic car also did emergency braek
Yes, in an automatic car driving exam you might also be required to do an emergency braking.
Thank this really helps
I am glad it helped!
Technical questions video is up :) th-cam.com/video/5FkpSQk_QNU/w-d-xo.html
By the way… thank you very much for all the efforts in your videos
Please, do the other video with the questions in German
The video is already on his Channel check it there and really helpful. I never knew about that people being questioned but after started following him is when I knew.
Why then you dont do?
Thanks for informative video. Yes pls make a video on questions n lights
You said not to do ‘umkehren’ At a private parking place. So how best to choose a place to do a right reverse n turn?
Roundabouts are a good option, any grocery store parking lot and or a gas station is also totally fine.
@@HowtoDriveGermany that’s only when the examiner asks to do a ‘umkehren’ At near roundabout. What if he asks in a 30 zone? Can i do a left-left-right?
@@aizen_gotei13 In a 30 zone then best bet would be to do Umkehren at any junction, but be careful to properly look around because there you need to take care of right before left rule.
Yes please. It will help immensely if you could do that. Thanks.
How do you differentiate this by the kerb-stone? Sometimes the parked car make it difficult to observe whether we r heading towards a street joining from right or a residential area parking lot!
Good question, you just have to drive very careful in that case, you'll see cobblestones or pedestrian walk way and easily get the feel that on the other side is not an actual street but rather a private house, private commercial parking etc... Driving a bit slow and careful when you realise that right before left is about to come up is always a good idea.
@@HowtoDriveGermany thank you for your prompt response.
Right before left rules are also on landscape streets.
I hated how low quality the vids/images were... Sometimes you couldn't even see some things that may have been important to the situation lol But I luckily passed with only one wrong question (4 points) and am now working on the practical part of the driver's license
Wish you the best in your practical exam. 😉
@@HowtoDriveGermany thx 🙏
Haha, plus all the temperary reduced speed arena
You should have used the Golf at 19:38 as an example of how NOT to drive, as follows : 1. Tailgating the lorry 2. Driving over the line into the emergency stop lane 3. Late indication off the autobahn 4. Driving too fast around the exit lane Atrocious
He actually didn't break any red light because there was a "green arrow" next to the red light, which acts like a give way sign regardless if the light is red or not. The rest is correct.
@@HowtoDriveGermany Yes, you read my comment before I corrected it, after listening on further !
The autobahn in East Germany seems to be a lot less busy than in the West.
Possibly yes!
Learnt this quickly after moving here from the UK, in the UK you are taught to indicate before the roundabout and then when on so people waiting will know your intentions and can plan for it, here in Germany you just have to assume everyone is doing a 180 or 360 because they won’t indicate they are and don’t position their car either for it. Not great for traffic flow.
Hey, interesting to know how it works in the UK. 🇬🇧
I checked out your TH-cam channel and noticed a few areas for improvement. Your content is excellent, but the thumbnails and SEO could use some work. By optimizing these aspects, your channel could grow much faster. Would you like help with this? Thanks!
This is roundabouts work everywhere
Yes cause while inside the roundabout you have the right of way over everyone and you signal when you exit much like when you exit a main road to turn into another road
Exactly 💯
well iam german and some of us dont do that cause they are Hurensöhne, probs for ya :)
What is insane about this?😂😂😂
Probably that zebra crossings are just an optional thing in almost all other countries and if it was optional the people would be technically jaywalking
But I don't really know what he meant here
I would have never guessed that you don’t indicate before entering the roundabout. Quite different to the UK. In Germany do you always indicate when exiting the roundabout even if you are going straight ahead over the roundabout?
Hey, yes that's correct, even when you exit the roundabout straight ahead, you have to indicate while exiting and never when entering.
@@HowtoDriveGermany thanks
if you need to teach people to give way, by a yield sign, then the person should not have a driving license anyway.
Hey, in Germany traffic rules can be a bit more complex, that's why it's not just about giving way but how exactly to give way, where to stop, when to stop etc etc.
Really informative video. Looking forward to the next ones.
Thank you very much.
