I'm not sure who won this round in the Crucible, was it the Crucible for the tip breaks on the sheets or was it the Vega V3 on poor old LOG Chop (and brace)! I'd call it a technical draw, just right for a deciding round of tests in your next video. Nice work Nick and thanks again.

hey quick question. My saber came without an SD card and im trying to add one with other fonts. I tried to follow everything you had, and my saber just says font directory not found, what am i missing?

Is the sound still muffled on the V3 ? I like the look of the Vega but think it sounds trash compared to say the Zeta

you really should get a CFX saber from Sabertrio! it'll be a million times better than anything you've ever reviewed and used! I used to think zeno boards and cheap proffie were the best, until I got a sabertrio with their new power core and 28mm speaker from smugglers outpost.

I feel this has always been the issue with Ultra Sabers since the beginning. Their chassis system is just too loose inside the hilt. There seems to be hardly anything inside to keep it from rattling up and down or side to side. Many other companies had started securing their chassis with either a set screw, or if it's removable some solid connectors for the electronics, quite some time ago... Though, no doubt their hilts look pretty decent, and they have some pretty unique designs.

I expected that to fail at the first 6 foot grass drop, given how fragile it has proven so far. color me shocked.

Wow. I'll say it if you won't. That is a big piece of crap. The piece that fell off, the lack of smooth swing, and that rattling when you were swinging it...ugh. Very frustrating I'm sure. I looked up this saber on their website and dang $275 before tax for that? Not sure if they have free shipping. I have two sabers, one is a Savi's Workshop POS that if not for the very cool experience of building it, I'd have massive buyers regret. The other I recently bought from Theory Sabers. $239 (after 20% fathers day discount) with free shipping for a Proffie board Luke SW affordable version saber. I was going to get the fully screen accurate saber but I actually do not like that dumb box on the hilt. I want to be able to spin it without worrying about that. That saber is awesome. He has some unique fonts that are IMHO the best out of the typical fonts you get. I think you can get it a little cheaper with Aliexpress but I've heard it's a crap shoot with them. Theory Sabers has (at least for the moment) a good reputation and they are responsive to inquiries. Like same day or next day responses from an actual person not a bot. The Ultra Sabers website gives me the heeby jebbys. Looks like either a child or an 80 year old made it. I'd not use them again If I were you. Take the loss as a "learning experience" and move on. BTW cool bird. Friendly advice, get a more light in the room. I can tell your camera is having a hard time with the small amount of light.

Ultrasabers is garbage, my man. I'm sorry you had a bad experience, but in the future I suggest you order from one of the more reputable companies. Ultrasabers are way overpriced and use completely outdated technology. They are basically a scam for people who don't have any experience with sabers.

for the cost that quality is inexcusable, as is the "smooth swing" (and Ultrasabers' response). you should definitely push the issue, although if you intend to upgrade it anyway the point may be moot. great video as always, Lord Nitro, looking forward to the next one.

Hi Nick, that soundboard does seem to need way more effort to get a response from than I would expect. The performance reminds me of the boards that came out which introduced "Accent Swings" - the type that had a normal hum and normal swings but if you really went full tilt with a slash then you would trigger an added sound layered on top. I'm also reminded of the old Accelerometer based boards that had a component that used a pendulum-like mechanism to detect movement. These accelerometers looked like small barrels mounted on the PCB - however nowadays motion detection is done within the microchip itself. Maybe the board was programmed at the factory with the threshold trigger sensitivities TOO high. Sad to see that the shrouds have issues too, I have read reviews from other owners that say the Battle Ready Shrouds seemed more secure so seeing yours detach was a surprise. Anyhoo sorry you are having issues and I'll stay tuned to hear further developments. Thnx.

It seems like Ultrasabers is trying to copy the Xeno 3 only with proffie fonts. It seems like they’re trying to upgrade but they are always years behind their competitors.

that is a handsome hilt, but I'm not sure it's worth that price for looks alone. as for durability, the crucible will decide, one way or another

From what i can tell, the Lock up effect is done by holding the button while clashing shortly after you begin holding the button. The Drag effect is done by holding the button for two beeps (might need to be pointed downward) and then releasing. Force effect is done by holding the button and twisting the sabe. (similar to how you would if you wanted to change fonts). All of these are done of course with the blade activated / ignited.

I have an oath keeper myself. I want to upgrade it to a neocore. What all do i need yo buy to make this a much better saber for me?

I've had pretty good experiences with Vire and would definitely buy from them again. Having said that, that soundboard is definitely not an XRGB. The XRGB should have an sdcard slot just like the Crimson Dawn saber so you can add custom fonts and all. If you're sure that's what you're supposed to have received I would contact them and let them know you got a standard baselit board instead, that's what the white one is.

good thing you caught the battery issue as early as you did. I can't blame you for calling it early. it's not smart to take chances where corrosive and toxic chemicals are involved.

my first and so far only saber is a vire, pretty sure with the same core. while it's disappointing to hear the battery worked loose so quickly, at least it's not a major failure that's hard to fix...yet. here's hoping it holds up in the drop test. we shall see

Greetings Lord Nitro, these new Xeno sabers are getting really complex nowadays. However I do like the idea that the board can store your SD contents in case you remove/dislodge the card. The Smuggler blade mode is similar to the "Blaster" mode found on other sabers that makes it operate as a blaster with "laser bolt" effects travelling down the blade. Finally., there may be a "Force Effect" like a force push or lightning block - if you point the lit saber upward, press and hold the button, then whilst twisting the saber release the button, you might get an effect that travels up/down the blade. Oh and the saber you kindly gifted me as a prize (thanks) has also been sort of "appropriated" by Mrs Tyeth as hers because it's the smallest and lightest hilt I own and is easy for her to use! MTFBWY.

Hello Lord Nitro! That is a really nice saber - I think because it looks similar in shape to the kind prize you sent me from your subscriber giveaway. I think though that this saber is slightly wider being a 1inch blade model. This saber also has a lot of functions by the looks of it - that Bluetooth, when connected, makes editing settings a breeze (unlike my sabers where I gotta hook it up to a laptop via usb cable). And all for $120? But can it beat the Crucible....I look forward to finding out. Hope you and your clan are well. (p.s. I wondered if you'd set the blade to "Ghost Mode" 🙄😁).

My kiddo (10 years old) wants to build a thin neck and wants to use the parts of this saber. If it can withstand that type of beating it can withstand a 10year old! Thanks for the review!

Hi Nick, the neopixel hilts I would think are much like normal in-hilt saber as far as resilliency goes. The big difference is of course the emitters, connections and blades. But this SabNeo V8 is certainly tough. And would you say the Ultra Heavy Grade blade is the "Champion" so far? 🤔

I’m sort of disappointed with Crimson Dawn’s purchase options when buying the hilts. They’ll let you choose the variation and the board upgrades, but the decision for blade size isn’t there. You have to buy a separate blade just to get the blade size you want. Just a small let down, but an irk nonetheless

God that hilt is so cool, but I wish they would have added a more interesting grip

That hilt design makes me thing of a cutlass. I’m sure that was what Crimson Dawn was going for, but that could really make for a unique form fighting style if anyone could create it
