Why not play cuts instead of just talking?

I saw it last night. I thought it was entertaining but not a particularly great entry in the franchise. I’ve seen all of the previous films and love the first two, like the next two a lot, and don’t mind watching the next two but don’t love them. Romulus is very well made, ripe with jump scares and good ideas (anti-gravity machine, raising the temperature for camouflage) but overall I think the series has run its course. If that is the case (and I very much doubt it since it’s currently number one at the box office) than it was a good one to end it on. Let’s see what the tv series brings next year. Personally, at this point, just make it a reality show with the alien going about its daily routine while it waits for a new batch of humans to happen upon. I’d watch that show all day every day.

Tropic of Cancer is an interesting giallo with a unique setting. Shot in Haiti with a bit of a psychedelic flair.

In an interview, Fede said he was inspired by the scenes on Hadleys Hope colony on LV-426 where a bunch of kids were playing around in restricted area and got told off to scram and play somewhere else and where he got his idea to create his characters for Romulus. WTF he didn't just make an alien movie about the colonists on LV-426 who actually discovered the alien spacecraft and when one family of terraformers accidentally discovered the nest and came back with a facehugger! Romulus is a stupid movie.

Saw it today and really enjoyed it. While I respect your opinion, I completely disagree with you in almost every way. Seems like we saw different movies. 😂

The Peter Cushing episodes are from the 1968 Sherlock Holmes TV show there's older episodes from 1965 and one episode from 1964

Thanks for reviewing Bog! I am pretty sure Deputy Corbett is played by a different Charles Pitt than the one who was in Supervixens. This Pitt, like several others in this movie, make their first and last career movie appearance.

I grew up with the Halloween and Christmas specials every year. I think they began in 64, so I would have been 5. Pillow cases filled with candy (before before parents had to escort the collection process). I was as carefree as the characters in the two movies, and have since become a jazz head trumpet/guitar player, subsequently playing along with the soundtracks during the two seasons. It’s weird how deep seated it all is, and how much of a quiet emotional attachment there is to it all. Good on you for posting this! I’ll check it out.

My wife & I binged all of Dupieux's movies last year & had a great time. Rubber has its moments, but is definitely his worst (and, unfortunately, his most well-known). This, Deerskin, Smoking Causes Coughing, Yannick, & Reality are our favorites, though at 75 minutes, none were a waste of time. Most of Dupieux's films aren't available on physical media in the US, so I'll def be grabbing this Arrow release.

I was wondering if the TV version was included, I watched that version with my Dad, Now I need to find the Movie MIDWAY also with Heston and they shot an extra TV version of the Battle of the Coral Sea, it's nowhere to be found

Great review man glad to hear you had a good time with this one completely agree its so funny and such a blast i do agree the tribute to Fox studios at the end was a nice touch but overall yeah there are some flaws but overall a really good time at the theatre from the opening sequence to the chemistry between Deadpool and Wolverine to every cameo

C'mon man, they establish that there cousins in the first scene. Moonrunners is one of my all time favorite films. I'm a life long Dukes Of Hazzard fan and the connection with the show certainly adds to its history but as a stand alone film regardless of that connection I absolutely LOVE Moonrunners. There's something about it, of coarse it's low budget but to me that adds an authenticity to it. There's alot more depth and heart in the characters and plot then comparable films. I've watched Moonrunners more times than I can count and I love it every time. Also ya missed 2 Dukes connections. Grady & Bobby Lee's stock car is named Traveller ( General Lee's horse) and Jerry Rushing whose stories inspired Moonrunners & The Dukes Of Hazzard has a cameo in Moonrunners, he the guy sitting at the bar at Jake's when Bobby Lee drops his liquor load off after beating Zebo.

The 4k version only had the 4k and the bonus bluray disc. Ive been a fan of this movie since i first watched it on vhs in 2002.

When they arrive at part 15, it'll be TW15TER! I've been doing an Irwin Allen deep dive this summer (great new Shout Factory box set!) I think I'd enjoy these tornado flix more if George Kennedy, Claude Akins, and Red Buttons showed up. All dead, I know, but...c'mon, where are the semi-washed up stars at?

Speaking of going in blind, before Longlegs there was a trailer which had was a quote from a critic, saying, “You MUST go in blind!” Yet the trailer proceeded to show many aspects of the film. Fortunately, I forgot what I saw. Unfortunately, I don’t even remember the name of that movie.😂

I went in 98% blind. That was not for a lack of interest, but out of discipline. I did however call the phone number on the billboard which had a small piece of dialogue from the film. I have mixed feelings about the movie, but I was entertained. I’m glad to see Nicolas Cage leaning into this type of stuff instead of being embarrassed about it.

You need to watch kill. It's one of the best action movie this year. It's distributed by lionsgate.

In a way the future world seen here is dystopian Cyberpunk, they use advanced technology but living conditions is worse in comparison. Only the ruling higher ups enjoy the full resources & control the lower populace providing them only the bare minimum in militarized force. So this is a future dark age where mankind is on the brink of destabilizing as a species and only a prophesied saviour would bring everything to a new start over. And thats where the myths and religion aspect takes over.

Appreciate your review. You'd benefit from expanding your vocabulary away from ridiculous, over-the-top etc. You'll stand apart from the typical western reviewers. The production company has put out a lot of videos, check those out.

I was randomly watching the Johnny Carson Show on Roku a few minutes ago and David Jannsen was on there promoting this movie and talking about violence in real life and in entertainment. He said entertainment should reflect the real world including the violence. Don Rickles was also on the show.
