Dont use dead bait to try and catch bass, they're ambush predators so you aren't going to have much luck. If you're going to use minnows then use live ones for bass and crappie. Bait like this is what you wanna use to catch catfish mainly.

I wonder if I go to Dollar tree and bought a roll of the non-slip grip to put underneath mine just to give it extra non-slip in capability, would that help extra. I haven't heard anybody say that it has a gripped under part.

Dude, maybe I'm in the wrong times of day or the wrong ponds and creeks. But I havent ever caught anything using a beetle spin. I've seen my dad get brim and bluegill on em though right in front of me. Some type of rod and reeling technique im not aware of

I'm near Charlotte, North Carolina and it's been colder than normal here for over a month and ever since the temps dropped the bass have lock jaw around here in the ponds that I usually fish. I've been fishing real finesse (Ned rigs and drop shots) and I'm lucky if I can get one or two. I might have to tie on a rooster tail and give it a try since the finesse stuff isn't really producing much. What size spinner were you using? 1/16 or 1/8 oz?
