Primary Arms Pistol Red Dot Review | GLx RS-15
I have seen Garand Thumb talk about Primary Arms many times, but I have not seen too many other people talk about their optics. When I saw this optic go on sale, I scooped it up so you don't have to. In this video, I am reviewing this optic to see if it is worth it for you to spend the money on it!

3 Reasons I Picked Glock and Why You Should Too
Just a note, got my kit brand new $129. W/3 25rnd mags. Found massive problem and 2 fixes corrected them immediately. Used 2 Qtr trick in buffer (better). If your "charging handle" has a concave front/inside (where gas-tube goes past, 223/556), either grind flat or get one that IS flat. The spring-tube presses and moves the handle, causing jamming, FTF, ejection issues because of the concave! I switched it out for flat type and problems solved.
The best mags to get and what is needed to avoid issues with the magazines. th-cam.com/video/abHzu6qffJ8/w-d-xo.html
Great build brother. As a fellow left handed shooter I definitely appreciate what you're doing. If you do another build, consider a piston build with the Superlative Arms left handed piston kit. Get either a Geissele MK4, MK8, or Aero Atlas or Gen 2 handguard for clearance for the gas block.
I’m planning a 20” build right now. I’ll definitely take that into consideration!
This doesn’t work at all. The better method is to make the triangle with your hands with arms extended, frame a distinct object on the wall, and close your left eye. If the object is still centered, you’re right eye dominant. If the object has moved, you’re left eye dominant. That simple.
This absolutely does work considering this is how I teach everyone that is having trouble but your method also works. My way is A way not THE way. Just like anything
Must suck being lefty
I got my conversion kit about 6 years ago. min works great. all three mags feed well and the golden bullets run great. 22lr isn't the most reliable semi auto platform
Have not had any issues with my cmmg conversion kit since i purchased it several years ago. Great money saver.
I have a CMMG 22LR conversion and the only issue I’ve had was with aftermarket magazines (failure to feed). The cmmg mag I got works fine. Perhaps contact CMMG customer service about the issue . Don’t know where you live, but here in SW Oregon I can buy 5.56 NATO ammo for $8 for box of 20 rounds.
Here come the internet warriors lol
The one I have came with three magazines that hold about 25. The bolt was said to have been improved from the older one. Mine works great.
You might want to try some heavier rounds
why not make this RMR cut? makes no sense.
I thought the same thing. I feel like the RMR cut is a standard that every red dot should have
Mine runs flawless
Here is some harsh constructive criticism, I couldn’t watch the whole video as it was so bad. Did you use the recommended ammo? Did you try a few different types? Scriot your videos. Your friends may like listening to you blah blah blah but you keep repeating yourself. I guarantee you the big folks on social media aren’t just winging it. It is irresponsible to modify a product then do a review of it. CMMG makes larger capacity mags and instead of messing with theirs and getting a different brand why not use theirs? A great benefit for me is my local tangle allows rapid fire of 22 so it allows some rapid fire practice.
I've had mine for several years, using just the one magazine that came with it. I plink in the backyard with it probably once a week. It's run perfectly fine with just about any ammo I've put through it - CCI Quiet-22 Semi Auto, Standard Velocity, Golden Bullets, etc. The only issues I had were with ammo older than me. Hopefully you get your issues resolved!
I'm not trying to be mean here, but am I seriously the only one who noticed his AR15 ejecting out of the LEFT SIDE of his LEFT HANDED AR? Unless that's a left handed CMMG conversion kit, I'd say it's doing remarkably well bouncing rounds off the right side of the reciever then out the left side ejection port! Sorry I had to spell it out for everyone. Have a nice day.
1:30 he has a left handed conversion kit.
Rings:.....before I separate the caps from bases (from the packaging) I witness mark them with a paint pen. Fronts get this mark : (on the front left side) rear gets this :: (front left side, visualize a horizontal line between marks, line represents the split of base/cap). Keeps caps paired to bases and prevents flipping caps 180° on its base. Tip.... a piece of paper held behind & underneath the alignment rod's 60° bevel points really help seeing the tips. 😉
I’m sure someone already stated you can tune the kit with Bore Buddy
Thank you bro and I appreciate your video. I’m currently changing the front and sights on my XD-40.
Bought 1 used. Works great. 0 issues
Thats my goto brand for ccw belts!
22LR that has an muzzle exit velocity of about 1000 fps can cycle the bolt, but it isn't strong enough to reset the hammer of a .223/5.56 lower. It will cycle a round, but the trigger won't reset. That is the usual malfunction. It is worse than a bolt action because a good cartridge is typically inadvertently discarded / sacrificed just to reset the trigger. 22LR that fires at 1200+ FPS works very well, but you will get that supersonic " crack."
Who would ever make that transition and shoot like that? Serious question
I think this conversion kit was one of the best investments I have ever made. So long as I run CCI mini-mag or higher quality ammo, it works well. Have some issues with the cheaper .22 LR but have issues in my Ruger 10-22 and MK IV as well. That said, mine works like a dream.
as long as the mag was not pushed from bottom. As long as the mag is held by it self, mine works perfectly with mini mag and never gives me any malfunction
@@SickMy_Duck Yep, I have almost no malfunctions. The only time I have problems is when using the cheaper ammo.
I've found that the magazines are the malfunction culprits with this conversion kit. 2 of the 3 cmmg mags with the orange followers that I have are jamomatics like in your video. 1 runs flawlessly just like my 2 other blackdog mags.
Borebuddy addons for it are your friend. Gonna get there lightened bolt so i can shoot up this cci standard 1050fps i have that wouldnt cycle a 10/22
970 fps cycles my kit, and that's with a 6lb spring.
I see Kore now has a USA made collection which is cool. I am planning to buy a coyote model this weekend.
Love the videos brother
Thank you for all the info!
More light brother
I would practice reholstering keep an eye on it god forbid something got in the way u would t see it
I regret buying it. it is a master at failure to extract. Failure to fire and the list goes on. Waste of money. Better to buy a Ruger 10 22. Don’t buy this thing.
Both eyes open is best.
Both eyes open!!
This is great info. Im a for life customer with primary arms there customer service is no jk. I dropped my holosun 507c vulcan accs , dropped my firearm and the optic glass cracked on my steel gun safe. And they replaced. No questions asked. It was my fault by accident. I just bought a g19 mos and dont want to spend 300+ for another optic so i think this will fit this bill.
I completely agree. I have had no issues with this and I know that if I do, PA will make it right
Thank you for the build list and pricing. Appreciate your effort. Great video. 👍👍
Troll
Never ever ever ever use your ball hitch to pull anyone out Mr. That is dangerous and deadly. You said it in your video HAVING THE RIGHT TOOLS TO DO THE JOB RIGHT. Get yourself a shackle hitch receiver if you plan on towing or pulling anyone out of sand, mud, snow whatever it is. Always practice safety otherwise you could get sued if you hurt or kill someone using your ball hitch as a recovery tool. Those ball hitch aren’t meant for pulling anyone out. Remember that.
Gorilla tape is WAY better than the hf duct tape.
How about a solar panel to change that camper top battery?
I have thought about that. At some point I want to get one but they get a little pricey sometimes
Mountain plate
You can use it on other pistols you’re gonna need an RMR plate bc it has an RMR cut. Picked up mine on sale too!
Man, you got a great deal on that dot. Growing up on iron sights myself, using the red dot feels like cheat mode.
It really does! I completely changed my shooting
I keep a smaller axe in all my vehicles
Tire plug kit is weak it will bend easily.
Good video, i live in North Dakota to,go pick up a cluster hook, you will use it alot, especially when pulling out cars stuck in the snow.maybe a good jumper pack and a buddy heater,
I stand by alot of stuff from harbor freight, but for the tape Gorilla tape is amazing compared to HF tape, and Super 33+ is the only electrical tape I would trust for actual electrical work, for a single day patch to get home the HF is good enough. I know it is weird to talk about the tape specifically, but I have been in situations where it mattered.
Good video brother
You may want to search some videos before hooking up to a tow ball to pull someone out. Tow balls do not handle the shock load very well. It can work for a static pull if there is no other option.
Yeah I also have tow hooks on the front of my truck could work for recovery also
I would get the shackle/hitch they have so you don’t have to use the ball or put the loop inside the receiver and pin through the tow strap
@@allendorrell9845 I will more than likely do that
Ratchet straps, flashlight (a magnetic base work light would be good as well), a small tool kit to do minor repairs, and a small tire inflator. That's all that comes to mind at this time.
I started thinking about that and have since bought ratchet straps, a headlamp and I am working on getting a tire inflator. I do agree all of those are great additions
like your list .. I would add screwdrivers, pliers, cutting tool, - I know you said tool kit but people might think sockets and wrenches
@@WilliamTythas I can see that. I have one of the bigger craftsman tool kits that I could throw in there but I will probably buy a smaller one due to how much space my current one takes up
