This is the best adaptation of a Henry James novel I have seen. An intelligent script, well directed, and the two female leads are good, especially Allison Elliot. The only problem was Roache. If you can imagine a young Robert Redford in that part, you can see how good this film could have been.

All English people should pronounce words like Sarah does.😊 I like the way she uses her words. It is as if she takes care to be heard and understood. I don't think her style is popular in England. (I am listening to Emma Watson and keep thinking, who could be more incoherent in order to be sexy or breezy). The guys talking to her are happy after the chat. That is some influence.

Such a beautiful film with exceptional soundtrack. I vaguely remember finding the soundtrack somewhere years ago but without the movie it didn’t make much of an impression back then. I’ve been meaning to watch it for years - I wish it wasn’t so unknown. All the nature scenes, the simplicity of the people, the story... It gave me some kind of serenity but made me so sad at the same time. Helena is so beautiful here, she was living her character.

Love triangle( I AM IN) the part where Allison Elliot says I love both of you-- unconditional love portrayed on the screen… my BF and I saw it in the theater and we were only ones there. I was crying so hard, I couldn’t even stand up to leave. Unconditional acceptance… cannot be bought:( ❤this movie

Bellatrix Lestrange before she became a hot mess

There are so many scenes here that didn’t made it on the movie or had a different angle! Why? For example That cheek kiss of Kate & Millie was so cute. Does anyone know where to find the deleted scenes?

HBC is stunning. I too would choose her over Olivia Williams anyday. Poor Bettany to have married Williams instead of her doubly gorgeous sister.
