It's just quieter
Nope, It just sounds quieter when bypassed, but if you pull up a spectrum analyzer you can see new harmonic content has been created. An easy way to see the effect is to take a sine wave, add Voxengo Span (analyzer) to your output, then add an overdrive effect, increase the drive and you'll see new harmonics/overtones created. It thickens the sound, creating more density.
I think if you use a Mac, you should be using pro tools. actually in this day and age there are plenty of DAWS to choose from but GarageBand and logic Pro wouldn’t be them
I think it depends on who you are and what kind of music you want to make. If you are new and just want to dip your toe in, Garageband is great, pro tools would probably scare you off. If you see yourself more as an engineer or aspire to work in studios, then Pro Tools would be my choice. However if you want to do a bit of everything then I think Logic is the one.
tried to do it on my own first without watching this video and managed to bend the outer grill part on one side 🙃 so thank you so much for this video im sure if i kept trying id have completely ruined the thing :p
Glad you managed to get them changed in the end! Yeah, it's definitely more difficult than you expect it to be! I was worried I was going to break mine by the end!
Excellent comparison!
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it!
Very nice idea, thanks for share it....
Thanks for watching and your comment :)
One of Garageband's limitations is the lack of using buses and grouping. You can get around this somewhat by using Blue Cat Audios Gain Suite, which gives you the ability to group tracks together. If you have 3 or 4 background vocals, or 4 or 5 track of similar instruments (strings, horns, percussions, etc.,) that you would be sending to a bus or group in logic, you can group them together, and raise or lower volumes (pre fader) by simply adjusting the gain of one of the Blue Cat Gain plugins. It is not perfect, but it helps get around this Garageband limitation.
Completely agree with you, thanks for sharing that work around!
The Kali IN-5 Studio Monitors are a 3 way Monitor that will change your ideas about Studio Monitors. Great product regardless of price. Subwoofer optional as they hit 32 Hertz. And affordable for the most part. You'll most likely want a second pair for your regular stereo. Truly game changing affordable music equipment.
Thanks for sharing!
Awesome 🙌
Taking the cables off was great advice, I didn't do it previously when I washed the pads. Jamming the pads in with my thumb also seems to do the trick, surprisingly easy but seeing you do it first inspired confidence! 😅
yeah, I did mess around with it for a while before I thought to remove them! 🤦♂️ haha, i did start off tentatively...but eventually, as my frustration grew, jamming them in with the thumbs was required!
can logic pro work on windows too or no?
No, unfortunately not, both Logic Pro and Garageband are only available on Macs.
Great and short straight to the point video. I guess for some reason it got recommened to already experienced producers, but it is what it is :D Good luck with your channel
Thanks for the kind words - good luck with your music!
a good overview, i already got all of these multiple ways 😅😅
Awesome! Nothing can stop you then! ... The hard part is to stop collecting gear haha!
great video 👍👍
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it!
Very helpful comparisons, thank you.
No problem!
Thanks mate
No worries!
Thank you, very helpful!
You're welcome! Glad it was helpful!
This is a great update to Logic to have!
Totally! Such a timesaver!
The first three approaches I was like cool, cool. But the last one is some kind of dark wizardry. XD
Haha so true, it messes with your head a little working with inverted polarity, but there are some really cool uses!
Thanks for this dude! Shame it's been up for a month with zero comments. Appreciate the info/perspective.
Glad it was helpful Dan! Ah not to worry - as long as someone found it helpful!
❤
Super entertaining delivery ... I'm glad I stumbled across your channel ... excellent ... all the best ingredients, great explanations, nice touches of humour, relevant information ... of course I subscribed 👍
thanks very much for the kind words @galefraney, great to hear!
Excellent video, your explanations are perfect!!
Thankyou! Im glad they were helpful.
Brilliant! Thank you for sharing!
No problem, you're welcome! Good luck with your drums 🥁🥁
Irs nice to have options. Its especially nice when you "save" money and get a bundle at "discounted" price. But too many plugins in fact lead you astray from making music. Choose carefully.
Yeah great advice, I completely agree with you.
NI dropped Absynth, do not upgrade because you will lose it. Just upgrade individual VSTs with NI instead.
Oh really!? That's a shame, I always thought absynth was an underrated synth. Just took a bit of getting used to. Thanks for the heads up!
🔥🔥When you say upgrade you mean upgrade to Komplete 15, correct? Ask for clarification cause I don’t want to use it but I might buy certain synths or sound expansions separately.🙏🏻
Yeah I think @notsure1135 meant for me not to upgrade to Komplete bundle 15 as a whole or I'd lose access to Absynth as it's no longer a part of Komplete since Komplete 13. If i was to upgrade, to just do each virtual instrument individually.
Arturia V synths are some of my favorites also👏🏼👏🏼
Yeah they're awesome! Paired with something like Serum for more modern sounds you're pretty well covered!
finally Jamie Oliver giving tasty Logic advice 😋
Haha very funny! We are actually both from the same area in the UK! I really like the music on your channel by the way👌
In edition to this, you can just pull the ear piece off.
That works too!
New subscriber here! Amazing content! Thanks for this
Hey! Thanks for subscribing, I'm glad you liked the content. All the best, Adam.
New subscriber here! I really enjoyed this video! Great points and you're fun as well! Thank you! :)
Hey Laura, thanks for subscribing, I'm glad you enjoyed the video :)
@ I’m gonna need some Logic lessons, are you around the south of England by any chance? I’m in Southsea.
@@lauratomas4369 Hey Laura, unfortunately I'm based in Crystal Palace in South London. However, most Logic lessons I do are online anyway. My students and I use Zoom as the sound/video sharing are very easy and really good quality. My email is adam@ammusic.co.uk if you'd like to have a chat or potentially do a free trial lesson. Best, Adam.
Dude..alechemy..its literally one of the besr synths ever
completely agree man, it's so good! The fact that you have 4 sources and in each of those sources you can have another 3/4 oscillators is crazy!
Thank you! Super clear. I didn't know where the clips were and how much force I was supposed to put in.
yeah it's surprising how much force you need to use! Glad you sorted them!
So many good points 👍 great video
Thanks, glad it was helpful ☺️
Great content!!!
Thanks!

Thanks so much @vanvinos, glad you found it useful 😊
Hey man, than you for this video. I'm starting out, got my fruity loops, and the list for what to learn is very useful:)

adam, your content is amazing. please keep it up!
Thanks very much - this made my day! Glad you're finding it helpful and I hope your music is going well!
thanks man, I didn't know this much force was required to push them in
yeah neither did I! I didn't want to use too much force but they kept on popping out so I ran out of ideas!
Thats awsome that, keep at it 👍🏼
Thanks very much, I will do!
I just started with FL studio as beginner, what program are you using? 😊 Would you recommend I continue with FL or yours?
Hey, I'm using Logic Pro here. I started off using Fruity Loops 20 years ago, it was a good DAW to start learning how to make music and to have fun with. After a while, I just felt I needed something a bit more versatile - I find if you want to make electronic music FL is good, but I also wanted to do film composition and so I then moved over to Logic. I still find Logic the most versatile DAW that I've used - good for producing, composing, mixing and mastering. Ultimately, the best DAW for you is the one you feel comfortable in and are able to finish music with. If you aren't getting along with FL, you can certainly try Logic (you'll need a mac) or if you are on a PC and interested in EDM you could also check out Ableton.
Thank you for feedback, I think I have to stick with FL as I'm using Pc😊 It was nice to watch this video how you create your music and I can copy and learn from you.
@@BabylonX Yeah totally, I'm glad it was helpful - and good luck with your musical journey!!
Great video, don't give up mate ;)
Thanks man! I appreciate the comment
Wish the feature was available to us Intel Mac users!!!
