I had the pleasure of watching Jarno many times at various european circuits. He was a brilliant rider who would have won many world titles if his life was not so tragically cut short.
Jarno Saarinen was to Finland what Johnny Cecotto was to Venezuela: they both put their respective countries in the vicinity of motorcycle races, sports that before them did not interest. Can you imagine they had run in the same category? It was a pity Saarinen had died so young when he could have won many world championships! Greetings from Venezuela
Remember he had a doubble skill. We know his ability to ride a racing motorcycle which was like a super human. But also he was his own mechanic and work on his Yamaha sometimes half the night before his race... He would easy become both 250 and 500 champion in -73 on his Yamahas if not his tragic death on Monza had end his carrier. We will always remember you Jarno.....
