This is Soooo Good! Thank you. How do i activate „Back“ And „Next“??? What is the link under these words? Thank you so much for the clarity. I love that and I am curious for the next videos to come- I subscribed immediately 😊
Great video. I created my own encrypted CRM type database that syncs across my devices, it works for my information and the way my brain works.
Good luck to whomever can manage this overhead in the Notes app.
I LOVE THIS! I consider myself an advanced notes user, but this takes the possibilities to whole new level. I have used a Franklin Planner method for a while now, and the forever notes framework will be a great addition for better search and organization. My only request is more thorough deep dives into the setup of each component. Great job and enjoy your coffee!
Really love the way you presented it, even if some concepts are not new but overall great flexible system ❤🤟🫶 Danke! 😅
How do you get that yellow and black icon? I can't make that in the shortcuts icon settings in that color.
Niiice! 🙌 Paid so much for the phone, and I’ve been looking for a way to get it usefully organised using native functionality without privacy problems and extra spending. Thanks 🙏🏼
Ok so I went to his website and the heavy asterisk still looks anemic after I use it. How do I fix it?
It just looks like you took what could have been pinned notes and folders and stuck them into links inside of a single note...
Why haven’t I been using it this way, thank you so much just what I needed. I love apple notes and I’ve used links etc but never like this to keep it organised. Thanks 🙏
Would be so great, if you could link a folder to the ✱ HOME Dashboard.
Thank You so much for this video. My journey started with Thiago Forte’s PARA but I always felt restricted and overwhelmed, and thanks to New Perspective’s videos about Zettelkasten I tried and it worked the best for me, but it also lacked any visual organisation, and Your work here was something right in between, what I felt would make a great system, but couldn’t build it as simple and easy as Yours is. I can only imagine how much work went into it, knowing I tried to do something similar and didn’t work despite lots of time invested
I am really impressed by this video . The most impressive thing to me is that you created a system which you chose to „implement in Apple Notes“. This does not mean that it only works with Apple Notes. The system might indeed last forever, regardless the tool of implementation (tool agnostic).
This is super helpful! I’m using it to streamline my Apple Notes process.
How did you add the home note shortcut ?
Go to the website
Great video! This setup really reminds me of Obsidian, which is a free alternative that works well with iCloud too. Obsidian offers similar linking capabilities but with more customization options and a large selection of plugins. Definitely worth exploring if you’re looking for a highly customizable note-taking experience!
thanks very insightful i will try it outtttttt
Let me know how it goes!
What about an inbox? Things i run into on the internet, videos to watch later, inspiration, etc. Or do you do that outside of the system, like for reminders?
And btw, I really like your work, I should mention! :)
Thank you! I don’t use an inbox, but I try to “process” my notes on a daily basis, rate them, link them just by checking notes o creates today. You could create a Smart Folder for that if you you create many notes a day.
😂 it looks natural as an Apple Keynote I don’t see the point of this. A lot of time to maintain the system, a lot of time to set up etc. It’s the « notion syndrom » of building things and play with the app instead of really working. Dopamine, dopamine, dopamine !!!
I admire your system and your ability to both create it and sustain it. But as always it is a system for systematic people. I yearn for system, but I can never achieve it, as I'm not able to make my needs merge with other people's systems, and when I almost do, I always forget the system over time. But great work! 🙌
I know what you mean. Maybe start clarifying your needs first, then consider different systems.
I don't need this - my needs are impossibly hidden - lol. Thanks!
Love the system! I think it makes a lot of sense on how I think and work. Thanks for sharing it. For the journal, do you create the header links (home, dates, back, next, etc) manually for each day? 10:39
Thanks! Yes, I’ve done this on a daily basis. Sometime I prepped a whole week in advance.
So frustrating--your framework is awesome,, but you lost me a the adoule asterik - i was unable to dulicate your demo.
But the most important question... where can I get those beautiful header images?
awesome!!! I am a big fan of Notion but I am not happy with it right now, because it's slow and dosn't have an offline solution. I will give you system a try, looks very nice and I have to give praise to your presentation style and design of both the notes and website 👏
Absolutely brilliant, I tried different systems (paid & free) but what you have put together, just great. Thank you so much
The book-"How to take note effectively " idea of zettlekasten and its fascinating. I was searching for a app like that please include page feature sothat other language can be use.
Fascinating. This turns Notes into a self-contained browser....great work. I look forward to more.
This sounds like linking your thinking by nick milo and ppv by august bradley, interesting to see you implement it in apple notes as I've thought about doing so as well in the past. But the lack of easy retrieval of notes ( you are locked into the ecosystem), lack of databases and many other functionalities just makes having such a comprehensive system in. apple notes a huge risk. kudos on the video nonetheless.
I just stumbled onto this, and it is intriguing. I'm going to give it a try, and let you know how it goes.
I’m really enjoying this framework, thanks for sharing it! The only thing I’ve run into is that I can’t create subtags in Apple Notes. With subtags, I could easily build a powerful system without cluttering the global tag space with tags like ‘Asian’. As a global tag, it’s a bit too much, but as a sub-tag for ‘recipes’, I’d love it. Hopefully Apple adds this feature in the future
Thank you! I totally agree. I encourage you to give feedback to Apple: www.apple.com/feedback/notes/
Nice.. could watch it on 2x speed and still follow. Great info.. really.. I don't like it when YTers read a script..but I truly appreciate the work you put into it. Your website is also very clear and calm. Thanks man I am in the middle of a messy rollover from Evernote to Apple Notes to now Bear Notes. Evernote is too expanded and too expensive. Besides their whole 'ai search' is confusing the shit out of my searches. I had a great folder system and tags that works great. Apple Notes allows for the same, but I run into the lag issue and not syncing well between devices. Any of you have this issue? I organise my digital archive both private and for my freelancing job in this system, so it's pdf heavy and very very tag heavy with over 2000 notes. Apple Notes syncs to iCloud and from iCloud to iPad and back..but only like 1500 of my notes go to my iPhone and created on iPhone doesn't appear to upload to iCloud. It's very messy. So.. I went on to Bear Notes that cost like 30 bucks a year and seems as powerful as the others. Just that they don't do folders, but nested-tags..that work similar. This is where your notes tips come in. I can use this too in either app. And it should save me a headache or two. Just can't add the links that easily.. more click heavy if I understand it correctly. One more thing, why not use the folder structure in Apple Notes vs your Home Note? I get that it's a page with links to other 'folders' if you catch my drift.. ? -> you missed an 'r' after 'you' on the Hubs tab at 1. in Setup 'title of you new hub note'.. But that's a minor detail. 🙂
Awesome Video! Can't way to see more details about how you built out each section. The accompanying website helps lay it out pretty well too! Awesome job!
Thank you, really appreciate it!
What a good recommendation from youtube. Instant subscribe 😁
Very happy to hear.
Awesome!
This is perfect. I have been using apple notes and love it, but my notes started getting out of control (particularly since seeing folders is not straight forward) The advantage of using ✱ for your main pages is that it’s easy to search for them (you can also use other Unicode symbols too) Edit: The journal was very tedious to set up, most because of the navigation. It’s an ingenious arrangement, but adding all the navigational links takes time.
Forever Notes has been a game-changer for my ADHD brain! I’ve tried every notes and reminders app, but I’d always lose track of where I saved things-links, ideas, reminders-spread across “read later” apps, Instagram bookmarks, or random notes. Now, with Forever Notes, I have one centralized place to save and find everything quickly. Setting it up took some effort, but with shortcuts to add to my daily note and open key notes instantly, it’s incredibly smooth. If you struggle with organization, this can transform your productivity. It’s been a lifesaver for capturing and keeping track of my ideas. Highly recommend and very grateful for this wonderful framework
Oh this is interesting, building on an existing infrastructure, and not starting yet another note taking app..
Thanks for creating a video. I would love to use your journal system - could you make a video that shows how to set it up step by step? Thanks.
Sure thing! It’s already in the planning.
Thanks for all your hard work putting this framework together. Amazing! Is it possible for someone to create shortcuts (or some other tool like a set of templates) that will help to more easily create journal pages? Those pages are filled with lots of links and look a little time consuming to create. It would be cool if there was a way to press a button and have it ask what day you want to add and the rest would be done for you. I'm sure you've already stewed on this question, so curious if you have thoughts on how to inject automation into your system.
This is a really good system Matthias. I have adopted this as the framework of my Bullet Journal practice with a few minor changes. In addition my daily notes are handwritten with the Apple Pencil Pro rather than typed. My iPad hasn’t been used so much and having everything clearly organised on my Mac, iphone and iPad hasn’t been a game changer.
I spent 30 minutes trying to figure out how to obtain the bold * 😅. It was a great session, though. There’s more explanation of how things should look than how to set them up step by step. I love the Forever Note idea. I just need to be handheld during the setup. Looking forward to more videos 😊
Save me 30 min and tell me how to obtain the * 🤣
Nevermind I found it on the forever notes website
@@AndrewHernandez01 😂👍
@@botistelockhart5078So I went to his site, copied the icon, and did what he said. It still looks anemic. How do I make it bolder.
Matias (Spelling?) - Very impressive. - - - I've watched many videos on Apple Notes. Most explain how to use it and rely on the viewer to determine his/her need. You've done the reverse. You conceptualized and described the needs and demonstrate how to implement with Apple Notes. - - - Kudos to you. The only suggestion I have is to change the name of your system. It is too similar to Evernote, another app that has been around for 12-14 years.
this is really interesting - I dont have much of a need for this in my personal life, but im forever looking at ways to better organise my work life, where i have lots of different projects big and small going on... deffo will see how i can apply this. I would love apple notes to have better task management with their todo's. Does the formatting mess up between iOS and MacOS?
I'm intrigued and impressed. I just visited your website and will try out this week what I can do with this. Thanks a zillion.
Thank you!!!
Nicely done! I love your system, it's helped me rethink my diaries and recordkeeping methods. I look forward to seeing how you and others customize your notes.
I can't wait for the community to share how they use Forever ✱ Notes. I'll be launching a community forum soon.
Sehr hilfreich, vielen Dank! Ist es auch möglich zu erstellten Ordnern zu verlinken? Oder geht das nur mit Notizen?
Leider kann man das im Moment bei Apple Notes nicht. Man kann nur Notizen miteinander verlinken.
Danke. Abo ist in jedem Fall gemacht. Weiter so 😊
Thank you for sharing this framework! It will help me a lot. I will start organizing my notes using this as a guide. How do you create a heavy asterisk?
Thanks for trying it out! You can just copy the symbol from my website: www.myforevernotes.com/articles/the-heavy-asterisk
I love what you have built. Have been following your website since it launched. Was waiting for your video. I have a question. I use the PARA method to make folders in my notes app. How do i merge the two? Also what if I have multiple notes for a project? How do I handle that?
Thanks for sticking around! 🙏 Projects, Areas and Resources can be used via ✱ Tags, ✱ Collections and for the most important areas also ✱ Hubs. I don't think it's necessary to have an Archive, as I just have my current and important notes linked on ✱ Home or ✱ Hubs. When you have multiple notes for a project, create one main project note and link the other project notes from there.
Would you not use tags to organize all project related notes? This could get quite messy very quickly though…
I use the notes folder as inbox and then weekly transfer all notes to their own sub-folder in the PARA folders
@@myforevernotes my anxiety is, i take a lot of notes on the go from the new note shortcut. How do i identify that all those notes have been linked and i am not missing anything. Like i do with my inbox
How do you get such a nice image on the top part of the notes? 🤩
You can download them on this page: www.myforevernotes.com/articles/hubs
I like the idea of these, just looking for more color. What’s the width and height of these images for it look like this on the iPhone?
@@myforevernotes thank you! I've been starting to set up your system (I am still using Obsidian, but exploring options and trying out).
